  1. We will be cruising next March and just starting to do some research, I understood it that you had to do a People to People excursion through Carnival or an authorized tour company. While doing my research I came across a thread on Trip Advisor that if you check the box Support For The Cuban People you can go and shop and tour on your own, anyone got any experience, knowledge of this.

Any other info, advice would be great.

  2. In Cozumel you can take a taxi to Paradise Beach, $12 each will get you entry, and a wrist band to use the inflatables is the sea, if just your daughter want to use the toys I think it is $3 for you and $12 for her. Food isn't expensive there, take a look at their website it has all the prices on it, just search Paradise Beach Cozumel.

  3. We loved the Magic and would sail on it again in a heart beat. I wish we could get $400 flights, we are looking at $500 each for our December cruise, living in Michigan we don't have much choice, I am not one that can do long road trips so flying is always part of our cruise cost.

  4. So I just submitted a form because when checking the price was lower than what we have paid. After submitting the form I realize that it will be less because we have added on the pre paid gratuities - doh!!

The price now is actually higher so I assume they will just reject the claim. That teaches me to price check before fully waking up!!

  5. We found this a better option for us convenience and cost wise, doing a one way hire the rental prices goes up considerably, Thrifty added $50 on to the cost! Basically door to door not having to deal with car returns/pick up and getting shuttle to rental company.

  6. Yes, just booked for our Christmas cruise, it is $35 per person each way. We are flying in the day before and will stay at an airport hotel, take the shuttle back from the hotel on cruise morning and catch carnival shuttle. After the cruise we will take the Carnival shuttle back to the airport and jump on Disney's shuttle to our hotel for part 2 of our Christmas/New Year trip .

  7. so that was one of my questions answered - thank you! But I have another, when you disembark and are using Carnival trf are you given a time or is it just get on the bus and when it is full it leaves.

We are actually sailing out of Port Canaveral and will use the trf. but when we get back to MCO we will jump on the Disney shuttle as we are adding on a few days to our vacation and want to be able to make it into one of the parks that afternoon.

  8. I wouldnt risk it that early, before becoming US citizens we would travel on our British passport. You a reliant on all other non US citizen showing up on time to go through immigration, until everyone that needs to has gone through immigration they wont begin disembarking passengers, we have been on board waiting still at 9:30am before now.

  9. We had a spa cabin on the Liberty back in 2008, just before they were made into balcony cabins, we loved it! I dont recall noticing any more motion than in other cabins we have had on lower decks.

We have just booked the Liberty for Christmas 2014 and as the upgrade was included in the price we have chosen a spa cabin again, we like the location of it, and now with 2 older children being able to use the showers in the spa will be a plus for us.

  10. Our first cruise we had a direct flight Flint, MI to Tampa due to land at 10:45am in June. We were diverted to Orlando as Tampa airport was closed down due to severe storms we had to sit and wait until Tampa opened back up, we only made the ship as the last Carnival shuttle leaving Tampa was nice enough to let us jump on. The bus pulled into the port and they closed the gates behind us, it was such a stressful day for the sake of a cheap hotel room we always fly in the day before now.

No matter what time of your you are flying you cannot predict the weather.

  11. Grand Cayman and Roatan both have lovely beaches but I haven't come across any that have the fun toys for the kids like Paradise Beach. When we went to Roatan we did an excursion through Victor Bodden tours, we went zip lining then went to a beautiful beach and then when we were ready they took us back to the ship. This next time we are going to do the zip lining again but head back to the port as there was what looked like a nice beach right there.
