  1. I cant help regarding the Amazing Race excursion as we have never done it but regards to beaches with the ages of you children have you looked at Paradise Beach in Cozumel? It was a $5 taxi ride each from the port and our kids had a blast, we are going to Cozumel again in December and definitely going back here.

Just google Paradise Beach Cozumel and it is the first one that comes up.

  2. The FTTF for January should have been available, we booked a Christmas cruise about a month ago and was able to purchase FTTF, there were only 3 left at that time. They only release a few in the beginning and then release more closer to the time, I think I read that it depends on how many Platinum guests there are as to how many FTTF tickets they release.

    Keep checking - good luck!!

  3. You will love it!! We have booked Christmas on the Liberty, this will be our 4th Christmas cruise.

There are carols in the atrium on Christmas Eve (look out for the snow), Christmas dinner. If you have kids they will be invited to join in the Christmas show with kids club. The ships are decorated very nicely and get on board early to make the most of the free champagne :)

Oh and don't forget your santa hats, we all have a different one each and makes for some great boarding photos and again we have a family picture taken sometime during the cruise wearing them.

Above all the atmosphere on a Christmas cruise is just wonderful.

  4. We have a group of 11 and a baby for the Verandah suites and have Priority boarding on our boarding passes.

My husband thinks we can board at 11:30, but the boarding pass says embarkation 1-4:30. Which/who is correct?

Are there tables in the main dining room big enough for our group of 11 and a highchair all at one table?

Do we request that at boarding with the Maitre d'?

On disembarkation day is the main dining room open for breakfast?

    Thanks

Boarding usually starts around 11am but this can vary depending on the weather/customs etc for the ship coming in.

We were on the Magic last spring break and we were at a table for 12, I assume Inspiration will have the same size tables.

Yes the main dining room is open for breakfast on disembarkation dat.

Enjoy you cruise, Inspiration was our first Carnival cruise and first cruise for our children and we loved it!!

  5. Last time we were at Nassau (about 3yrs ago) we booked a room at the Comfort Suites which is across the road from The Atlantis, this gave us passes to Atlantis for the day and was MUCH cheaper than going direct or booking through Carnival. I am not sure if you can still do this but worth looking into. It also depends on how many going as you pay for a room for 4, so if you have less going it may not work out cheaper.

We have also done the Segways in Nassau and that was A LOT of fun.

  6. We usually use the blue painters tape, that comes off easy and doesnt leave a mark but you will need to double it over on the back so it isnt seen.

We have decorated our cabin doors a few times, usually when we cruise at Christmas or if we are having a birthday on board.

Christmas my favorite is to get wide red ribbon and a BIG bow and make the cabin door look like a parcel.

Birthday usually use the big sheet of poster board and decorate it how ever, add a few balloons the day of the birthday.

Last year we cruise Easter and I got a ton of foam easter eggs from Walmart and a bucket of foam shapes/letter ands let our kids decorate them however they wanted, we each made one with our name on and one per port then the rest was their imagination.

  7. We have been on 9 cruises and only dined in the steakhouse twice, not because of the cost but we like to eat as a family most nights and the steakhouse to me is somewhere I like to dine and have a nice evening with just me and my hubby.

FTTF, this next cruise will be our first buying this, and yes to us worth the $50, no to get on the ship quicker because we are usually among the first to board as we like to get to the port early but to be able to go and drop our carry ons off at our cabin and not have to carry them around with us all day will be really nice. Also for the few times each cruise that we use the customer service desk to not take away from our family time by waiting in line.

YES to us it will be worth it, if you don't feel it is worth it don't buy it or don't dine in the speciality restaurants - your choice.

  8. This seems odd since most school districts maintain a relatively stable spring break while Easter can vary by more than a month (e.g., March 23, 2008 vs. April 24, 2011)

Our district keeps it as the last two full weeks of March.

I think you may be the exception, I don't think we have ever had the same week off 2 years in a row, some years we have the week before Easter, some years the week after, last year and this year we are off 2 weeks after Easter. I would love to book for next Spring Break but our school district wont release next years calendar until just before we finish school in June. Would have been great to take advantage of the $50 deposit.

  9. We cruised last year on the Magic for Spring Break, it was full but never seemed it. Never had a long wait for anything and could always find a quiet spot to sit and relax.

If you want to be by the pool on sea days then you need to get there early, the couple of days we wanted to do this we were by the pool by 8:30 am and then we took it in turns going in and getting our breakfast and morning coffee from the Lido buffet.

  10. We do this for our kids, you cant set a per day amount but you can set a cruise limit. Go straight to customer service desk when you get on board with you kids sail and sign cards and specify what their limit is to be. You can always add to/up it later in your cruise if you wish to.

  11. I ordered these for our last cruise - worked great and they are reusable. Much quicker than taping/laminating and no need for a stapler. Argh! Wont let me past the website, search Favors by Serendipity and then search cruise luggage tags.

  12. First thing I ever do when calling to make a complaint is note the date, time and get the name of who I am speaking too, only ever had one issue with a company stating they had no record of us calling as soon as we told then details of the time/date etc all of a sudden they were able to retrieve our details.

You are on a ship they move and vibrate, no one can foresee what is going to happen that is why we keep any breakables in a drawer. The only time we have ever had anything fall of the a shelf was when the ship we were on had to make an emergency turn around to disembark a passenger that had suffered a heart attack.

Good luck sailing on RCI in the future just an FYI their ships move too and they also have customer service staff who also have bad days, I know this speaking from experience. If you were unhappy with what you were told why did you not ask to speak to someone more senior whilst on board?
