The menu is the same at all of them. Santa Fe was used for Club Class last time I sailed on the ship.

Is there enough tables for Club Class.   Our experience on the Grand & a few other ships, was if you got there @ 5:15 & wanted a table for 2 you had to wait. Because there was always early eaters.
      Thanks for responding,   Grace

Sante Fe is the designated MDR for Club Class. Although on this cruise everyone is allowed to make reservation on this room. After trying all 5 MDRs, Santa Fe is my favorite.

Thanks for letting us know 😎. Hopefully Club Class tables are not too close together.  Have you heard any comments about that in Club Class.

  3. We are on the Sapphire Oct. 4th .     If you can please let us know if the Main dining room is open for lunch tomorrow. The reason I was wondering is because last April on the Grand there was no lunch on embarkation day in the Main dining room. They said because they were short staffed .

Hoping it’s not the  case for all of us on the Sapphire.  It’s always my favorite meal of the cruise.
Thanks for doing this for all of us 😎.         Grace

Doesn't it depend on the actual cruise ? Peak time for our Med cruise was around 7:30.

We were on a Hawaii cruises 15 days around trip from LA.California.And maybe 10day Mexico r/t. & maybe that 19 dayer to Panama Canal on the Coral.   All grand class ships. We love the little ones

Lots were local passengers.  We & everyone including Princess knows that people from England & any European area all eat much

later.  And they know ahead off time ages & from where.  I mentioned it a few times to the head waiter in CC , what are you going to do when we are sailings @ full capacity.? “  He says to me I don’t know “ I was hoping he would say they will make the areas bigger & add more tables & staff for that time spot. 🤔.  By 5:20 Club Class was full. You had to wait.
When we had Traditional Dining, & always in a full suite, we always got a table for 2 (we would see the head maitre d on the 1st day) & since we were fast eaters & already knew what we wanted, the waiter would tell us we could come @ 5:45. So the Club Class has not been so grand for us. And those extra entrees have been a joke for us,  since it started .

What ship were you on?? All we usually got as an extra on the Star was on the order of Spaghetti & Meatballs. Or some meal like Pasta Alfredo.. Breakfast was just as boring. This was on our 2020 trip to Hawaii. I believe the ship was farmed off to P&O later that year.

Us too, maybe those bigger ships do a better CC .   We have never been offered any of what they offered on the Discovery.  Also the wait for a table on the Grand, Star, Coral, & Crown etc has been around 15 minutes. Unless you get there 10 minutes before they open when you want a table for 2 .

One kind of sneaky thing they do is, they tell you not to wait by the door.  They tell you to go have a drink & come back.  I got the feeling they didn’t want other passengers to see we had a wait. Maybe giving the CC a bad rep.Their dinning area was just not big enough for the age group of early diners.    It always amazed me that they acted like they didn’t think they were going to be so extra busy from 5:00-5:30.   When they know way ahead the demographics of the passengers that are coming onboard .

    Glad you purchased right away.

Also, the pre purchased MedallionNet is now showing up on the App.

    Yeah!

Mine worked with the discount.   Thanks so much for all of you that were tenacious enough to get those inapt IT people off their butts & finally fix this issue.  I am grateful for all your time & work you put into it all.  It sounded like some of you had to babysit those people since they don’t know their a—— from their elbow.

A company called Jilzarah makes key chain bracelets that you can attach your Medallion (in it's plastic holder) to.

    That's we we did.

They come in regular and small sizes (for smaller wrists) and lots of colors and are also available on Amazon.

I got the idea from a thread on here last year so am passing it on.

I have a bracelet that has elastic inside made out of Swarovski Crystals. Nice & easy to take on & off. I get many compliments when I attach the crystal airtag case to it.  I don’t like anything around my neck.

Thanks for your reply. I will call tomorrow about this situation and while I have them on the phone I will bring up about the continuing medallion net problem.  I hope they don’t say we will make a ticket as I  have heard that so many times on different problems and still not one of them have been fixed.

No, they will tell you that you are the only one who has reported that problem.      When they told me that I told them oh please save your breath, I know you are just reading from your script.   They didn’t respond to that comment.

  9. I have been trying to see if they have fixed this purchasing the internet plans . And I can’t even get anything when I tap on “buy it now “. I wanted to see if the Elite price would maybe come up.  So I can’t get anything right now, just the wrong price.
Hopefully someone will post it,  if they find that by some miracle it gets fixed 😠

    1. Open the app

    2. Make sure you are viewing the correct sailing

    3. Click on the left circle (has a clock and utensils)

    4. Click the 2nd box (view or make individual reservations)

    5. Click on the date at the top to see what you have reserved or make reservations for that day

Thanks so much for the info, it work!!  Too bad you can’t go to work for Princess in the Medallion app dept.  🧐

  11. Mine is showing  regular prices even though we are Elite. We sail Oct. 4th . Awhile back it was showing the discounted rate, but I wasn’t sure our cruise was a go so I wanted to wait.  Still not sure.  Now just regular rates.
Is there a chance Princess wants it this way, so it looks like more $ coming in   They have had more than enough time to fix this so called  glitch.

I placed a hold on a cabin over the weekend and then contacted my most recent TA yesterday. She's able to get me the same rate as on the Princess website plus her agency is currently offering onboard credit that equals 14.5% of the cruise fare (before port fees and taxes, insurance, flights, etc.)

Instead of onboard credit, wouldn’t you rather have that come off the price of the cruise.  That way the insurance is less also.  I use one of the TA’s I found on an online auction site.  It’s not quite 14% , but it’s close. I book with  Princess 1st then transfer it over to the TA.  I email Princess’s invoice to the TA, so the TA can see the price Princess is charging.  They always need to know the base fare Princess is charging.

When you are booking full suites, it really  helps.  They don’t charge cancellation fees.

Hi Grace, Have you checked out the Nov. 27 sailing on the Diamond R/T from San Diego?  It is a Central America & Mexico Riviera 20 day cruise that goes down to Fuerte Amador.  We, along with several friends, are booked on that one.

Sounds like a great one, but we are on the Sapphire Oct. 4 to Hawaii from LA.  Ron wants to know, if you remember that alligator that almost bit you? Have a wonderful time.

Per this thread there is supposed to be a webinar on the 28th with a preview of the Fall 2023- Spring 2024 "Americas" sailings - Caribbean, Mexico, Panama Canal, California coastal and Hawaii would all be part of that release.  I have yet to receive an invite via email from Princess, but if I do get any information  will comeback and post ASAP

Thank you so much, I would really appreciate it if you are able to post any of the info.   I’m not a FB person, but I will try to find it on YouTube on that day & time.   Not sure if it goes thru FB I will not be able to get it.

          Thanks a bunch!!!!

The rumored announcement date was May, then it slipped to June, then to July, then August and now we are hearing "sometime in September".  Princess and HAL are the last 2 major lines to not have Fall 2023 to Spring 2024 Caribbean, Mexico, Panama canal, Hawaii and California Coastal sailings available for bookings.

I appreciate Princess waiting to come out with the new itineraries.  It’s better than them just throwing anything out there and them doing the redeployments, canceling & changing.   Would love it if they get it right the 1st time.

Please post if any of you TA’s get the schedules.   We would really appreciate it🙏   Thanks so much 😇

This is what boggles my mind!  Let's face it.  Their highest paying customers are mostly on the aft of these ships...full suites.   They really don't care at all that the people that occupy and pay a lot of money for those staterooms (not to mention the premium balconies that cost more than a regular balcony stateroom) are eventually gonna get ticked off and leave??   Huh??   Isn't this a time when businesses that are already in deep financial doo-doo would want to retain their loyal customers?  🤔

I agree with you.  Are you listening Princess

There have been threads on Cruise Credit about this problem.

Due to Covid, crew are not allowed to smoke indoors as they would be too close to one another in their normal indoor smoking area. So the aft of the ship's promenade deck is where they were allowed to smoke. (The crew area at the front of the ship (near the crew pool) is too windy when the ship is at sea for smoking.

Management's response has basically been that the aft on the promenade deck is the only suitable area for outside crew smoking.

Oh, but they can pull & push & drag guests together in the Explorer’s Lounge on the dance floor when guests are elbow to elbow having what they call a sing along party .  No masking & no caring how close everyone was.  Just forget about Covid when it comes to having fun.  That was the theme that evening in April on the Grand.
Let the crew have a ball smoking up a storm back in their indoor normal (before Covid) smoking areas. I will donate some balloons for them.

Both sea days and port days. Of course some port days I’d be off the ship for a large part of the day.

The stench would be intermittent and not typically constant.  However there were several occasions where I was forced to vacate the balcony for a longer period of time.

We’d be eating lunch on the balcony at our table and it would be overwhelming for several minutes then be gone as the wind changed. Same thing would happen during my early morning coffee times. There were times I’d wake up at midnight and go out to watch the stars and would have to retreat back inside and shut the door it was so bad. That said there were plenty of times that I didn’t smell it and did get to enjoy the balcony. For the price I pay for those full suites I feel I should be able to use the balcony 100% of the time.

As it’s now been a year since the restart my patience is growing thin with regards to this. If I find my meals or naps disturbed by smoke on my 2 week sailing to Hawaii this November  I will speak to the HGM on board.

Just as a point of reference I’ve sailed 27 days in the aft facing suites , vista (Ruby), penthouse (Ruby) and owners (Grand) since the restart.  The Aloha deck penthouse was the only one where it was not that big a deal. However I often couldn’t stand at the balcony as the smoke would be noticeable there. But it wasn’t when sitting at the table or sleeping on the lounger. So that made it bearable.

I agree with you 100%.  I spoke with HGM on the Grand it did not do any good.  He said he couldn’t do anything about it. It was a decision that was made by corporate.  I even wrote emails to all the higher ups.  They basically care more about the crew being able to smoke than they do their paying “guests” as they call us now. When I said that to the HGM he said there was nothing he could do. This was on the Grand 🤨.  Maybe you will have better luck.

sure - hope that changes - but it's not enough to move cabins for I don't think ... we are out on the balcony mainly when the ship is moving anyway, so shouldn't that help dissipate that?

No it does not!!! Especially if you are a non smoker or sensitive to cigarette smoker.  The smoke will come into the suite or cabin with just opening the sliding door. Even when the ship is sailing.
