  1. Also, I do apologize if I have crossed a boundary. It's just that I'm fighting an issue with another company and I am getting the same run around that you are getting. I do understand how frustrating this is!

Granted, it amounts to less than $10, so I'm not sure how much you wish to fight for it, but if a company is going to advertise something, they need to be willing to honor said discount.

To all those out there who say I should butt-out, you are correct. @wtang has called 3 times and was told "no" 3 times. I feel that information is incorrect, but it's not my money nor my sailing, so I will go back to my spot and be quiet.

Again, I apologize for stepping on anyone's toes.

She said since I'm logged in, the website/app knows my CC status.  I told her no, that 5% pre-sailing discount is for everyone, whether CC or not.  I said I should get an additional 5% CC discount off that published price.  She disagreed and said the price shown is the only price she can offer me today.

Ok, so I disagree with the rep, but there is a quick way to find out.

For my upcoming sailing, I got an email about shore excursions. If I click the link in that email, it takes me to the Shore Excursions page for my sailing. Mind you I am NOT logged in yet as if I want to book something, it prompts me to log in.

If you have a similar email or some way to access your reservation without actually logging in, you could see what the price was without logging in.

BTW, what is the actual verbiage of the 5% discount shown on the website? If it just says 5% discount then that, to me, implies a sale, not a CC discount.

edit: I'm not buying that comment as other CC discounts are not applied online....for example discounts for drink packages booked pre-sailing.

  3. @Georgia_Peaches is correct in that you pay, say, $200 for the class. Some of the pieces you can make are $200, but if you select a $240 piece to make, you pay the additional $40 at your session.

BUT, on our last sailing, I booked a class for 2 which was offered for $170. I called to book and got another $8.50 discount, so I was billed $161.50. We never had to apply for any discounts onboard and each got a $200 "allowance" for our piece.

Yes, you can book after you board, but I take advantage of pre-cruise sales when possible.....which are not available once onboard.

Call again and ask for your discount now. If the price goes down between now and your sailing, call back, cancel your booking and rebook at the cheaper price.....but either way, you should be able to take advantage of the 5% plus any pre-cruise discounts.

Please come back and let us know what happens!

edit......we did this June of last year. Things might have changed in the last year, so YMMV.

  4. Nope, that is incorrect.

you can take advantage of any pre-cruise discounts AND the 5% CC discount.....but, as you mentioned, you do have to call.

Many of the reps are not familiar with the entire Celebrity product......sadly, you need to call back until you find someone who is more knowledgeable.....or ask to speak with a supervisor.

    call back!

Well, I can’t even sign either my husband or I in.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I receive an error message if I sign in using Safari, but am able to log in using Chrome (on my iPad). You might try a different browser......see if that helps.

And as I mentioned before, even if they were legally in the wrong to do it, after they returned your money and you to your original cabin what actual damages can be claimed and sued for?

But, but.....my "feeeelings" got hurt when I got so excited about the upgrade and then they just snatched it out of my hands!

    pain and suffering and all.....

  7. Many do not recommend them. The possibility for CO2 buildup is too high. People don't use them correctly and have problems.

I know these are the current "fad", but I, personally, would not get one for my kids/grands. Suggest DD practice with a "regular" mask/snorkel. It could even be done in the tub to become comfortable breathing out of your mouth instead of your nose. Practice a little every day and before your cruise she will be a champ!

  8. The 5% discount for Captain's Club members is available to every tier, matters not which tier. But.....you have to call them get the discount.

The online discount of 5% can be combined with the CC 5%, but again, you have to call to purchase. Also, there is a discount if you purchase 2 sessions.....one for you and one for your "other". They make wonderful mementos from the trip and the blowers do give you ample opportunity to do things yourself.

Very highly recommended, but as folk have mentioned, the slots fill up very quickly, so plan on attending the first demo.....right after sail away.

      When will it end?

I was at the airport and wanted a snack. I picked out my items and paid for them at an automated kiosk. At the end of the transaction, I was asked if I wanted to add a tip!

THAT is where it ends! No one helped me, but me. Do I get the tip?

  10. I do believe that the new E class ships have better food. I think X is trying to convert folk to the new ships so things are just better.

I'm not a convert, so we sail the "older" ships and have certainly seen first hand the decline in food and service.

Even when I sail out of POM, I park there and have a van service pick me up to drop off at my ship in POM for $15/pp!  Better than driving in the Miami traffic.I arrive relaxed.

Not to mention that the POM is not in the best neighborhood! I never worry about my car when I park there!

We just got off the Ascemt and the food in the MDR was excellent. In November the MDR food  & menu was much better than it was mid year.

I think the food on the newer ships is better than the older ones. We have seen drastic cuts in food quality on the Equinox, which we have sailed every year for the last 4-5 years.

  13. Each ship has different venues for these. You will get a card with specifics when you board. The breakfast is usually in Tuscan Grill and there is a limited menu. The cocktail hour has changed post Covid and there are only "group events" on certain days. You can get your drinks at most bars during those hours, but the menu is limited. There are a number of threads with more specific details, like the drink menu, which you might do a search on as they have very detailed information over several posts.

For the Persian Gardens, you can just show up and use the facilities. You can stay as long as you wish.
