  1. Thanks for the info! If I go into geocaching.com on my phone in 3G mode (no wi-fi) will I incur roaming charges? I don't understand how that works, I haven't used my iPhone outside the US before. Maybe if I go into geocaching.com and save the caches I want, then I can pull them up on the islands.

  2. I usually bring my GPSr on cruises to geocache, but I have been using my iPhone lately to find caches because my GPSr broke. Does anyone know if my iPhone's GPS will work in the Caribbean, especially if the phone is in airline mode?

    Thanks!

  3. It's funny that you mentioned "The Vault". My husband spends a lot of time in the casino and he was talking about how all week everyone spent so much money and time at something called the Vault? On the last sea day he brought me down to try it, which I really didnt want to do, because I am not very good at crane games. Sure enough on my 3rd try, I got it!

I thought to myself, "wow that was easy. If I really thought I could win I wouldve gone for the ipad"!! So at that point I thought I was the shiot! $20 dollars later with a huge crowd of people around me later, I realized that I wasnt! :(

I hate that there will be one on the Liberty, because I am sure I am going to have to try for that ipad again when we go next April!! lol :D

    congrats! What did you win?

  4. Wow, based on the TripAdvisor reviews alone, and the fact that management took the time to answer every one, I can't wait to go there! That's good customer service, they obviously care about their customers and know how to run a business! I have been busily researching where to eat while on Grand Turk, but my research is over.

  5. I have never geocached on a cruise...I tried on my first one to Western Carib on Freedom of the Seas last year, but never had time. I am going to Canada in 2 weeks on Carnival, so I will definitely try then. I have downloaded 3 or 4 caches in the 2 ports (St. John and Halifax) to my Garmin already. Another cool thing about having your GPSr on board is that you can watch your route as you travel, and see where you are in the ocean.

I am also going to try and move a TB or geocoin. Is there a way to find out if there is a TB that wants to go to a certain place, so you can go get it and bring it with you to drop?

Good luck to all cachers out there!

  6. I would really like to sail a Freedom Class ship again. I do feel that it's more intimate and maybe you meet more fellow passengers. Both are stunning ships!

Wow, it's funny hearing Freedom class ships being referred to as "more intimate"! We went on Freedom of the Seas last year (our first cruise) and it was HUGE!! I had to walk the length of the ship (2 football fields? or 3?) every day at least 3 times because we had a forward cabin and had to drop off my daughter at Adventure Ocean, which was aft, in the morning, then pick her up for lunch then finally for dinner at the end of the day. All that back-and-forth walking kept the weight off, at least. I didn't lose, but I kept the same even after eating so much great food!

So, if Freedom is more intimate than Oasis, I sure am glad our cabin is mid-ship. Maybe I'll bring a pair of roller blades, lol!

Susan, I told everyone in my Oasis roll call about your review, and they agree that it is great! I love the fact that you take different pics than most people, lots of pics of things people want to see, like the interior of the cabin and restaurants, etc. Thanks again!
