Just off AoS for Xmas cruise.  The Voom internet is Starlink.  Our experience in main areas of the ship was that it was excellent.  In cabin (at least ours), it was very subpar.  So, if they use it in common areas there should be no issues, in cabin may be another matter.

We were on for the Christmas cruise as well and had similar experiences with the internet. Worked great in public places and was just ok in the room. Wouldn’t work at all on the balcony of our room but we were strangely picking it up in the port shopping area in St. Thomas.

  2. We were on Apex last month and it was all flex dining. We had no issues though showing up at the same time every night with our party of 6. They were able to accommodate us most nights right away and I think the longest we waited was 5 minutes. We did enjoy trying all of the MDR’s and the went back to ones we enjoyed the most. The food was excellent in all of them though!

Thanks everyone for this info. Looking forward to the reduced attendance on the February 26 cruise.

Good information  from eroller, as I’m on Deck 6 in a single cruiser cabin and heard about that deck being used as an isolation level. It will be interesting if I get moved as I’m also on a B2B supposedly in the same cabin! Oh, the fun of cruising now.

Our group is on the same cruise and were supposed to be on deck 6.  Our TA called and spoke to Celebrity and recommended we all switch cabins so she moved us to another deck. I would recommend doing the same if you can…especially with a B2B.

Wait, is it really $850-$1000 for a cabana for one day?

No, ours were $549 each for the day in Labadee.  One was split by 4 people and the other was split by 8 so the cost really wasn't much.  We were able to originally book the Chill Island cabanas for $499 each but wasn't meant to be.  I would definitely not ever pay $800 or more for a cabana.

Sounds like he needs to go.  Either go home at end of contract and come back refreshed or don't come back at all.

That is the kind of attitude that I find worthy to call out on the post cruise survey.

He most definitely got a mention on the survey from the people in our group.  The situation could have been handled much better and was rectified as soon as the Loyalty desk got involved.  We ended up having a "Perfect Day" in Labadee. 😀  The rest of the staff on Allure couldn't have been more amazing!  It was an excellent week!

  6. We were on the same cruise and had a very similar response from the clerk at the Excursion Desk.  Our party went up to the desk to switch our cabanas to Labadee and started off explaining to him that we had two cabanas originally booked at Cococay and his response was "not anymore".  He was very rude and extremely unhelpful.  He then quoted us one price which we booked but then the excursion desk called back and said they were going to charge us $250 more than we paid.  Our group ended up having to go to the Loyalty desk to get everything sorted out.  Our group was disappointed that we couldn't go to Cococay but completely understood it was for safety reasons but even more disappointing was the way the excursion desk handled the situation.

As others have noted, it is usually announced to booked passengers anywhere from 9-12 months ahead of time.  However, I think from the time they start looking into chartering a ship until the time the booked passengers are notified, it is about 2, maybe even 3 months....at least that was what we experienced.  It takes them that long to get all the contracts signed.  They don't want to spook any booked passengers off until they have a sure thing.

You first see the cruise disappear from their website while, on other TA sites, it may show up, but it will display 'sold out'.  It's happened to me three times with Celebrity and once with NCL.  BTW, Celebrity was much more generous with their compensation, should you decide to stick it out with them.  I am applying my perks from an October reservation that was chartered sailing to a cruise for next Sept.  I got a guarantee on my perks and taxes, etc., plus some additional OBC.  If they charter that sailing as well (I do seem to know how to pick them), I wonder what they will do then ... just offer me even more to move it elsewhere?)  I must mention that every time I took them up on one of these offers, I ended up absolutely loving the replacement cruise that I chose.

Thank you for the excellent information! It just disappeared from their website a couple weeks ago so I guess we still have some time. I hope it is sooner rather than later as as have a group going and finding alternative dates will be easier the further out it is. We have already talked about some dates that may work so hopefully it won’t be an issue. Thanks again!

We were also booked with a TA and received our your thrown overboard Email with alternative itineraries and compensation OBC directly from Celebrity before our TA set us the Email notification. Give Celebrity or your TA another month.

    Thanks!

If you are booked with a TA then the TA is notified by Celebrity and the TA is responsible to contact you and explain your options.

We booked with a TA.  The TA so far has had no communication from Celebrity about our options.  Just wondering about how long it usually takes Celebrity to contact guests in this sort of situation.
