  1. We never had any issues with service on our last couple of cruises.  At times it would be spotty on the balcony of our room but with the door to the stateroom and the balcony both closed that wasn't unexpected.  We were pleasantly surprised how well the coverage actually was.

Back from a great cruise on Allure on March 24th.  Basically, the only downside was having to watch my SeaPass card like a hawk.  I had no fewer than 9 erroneous charges on my account.

    1.  Three different days I was charged for someone else's drinks in the dining room (a $10.XX charge and a $15.XX charge each of those three nights) (6 different charges)

    2.  My son and I were each charged for something at the Dog House - this one was an employee error.  We got dogs and sodas (from the gun; we had soda packages) and the worker said he had to run our card.  I thought it was weird but since he didn't ask us to sign something, I figured all was fine - until two charges showed up about a half an hour later; for two different amounts no less even though our orders were exactly the same.  (2 more charge)

    3.  Finally, a $50 missing towel charge on my son's account at 4:00am on debarkation day (after the paper bill was received) when he NEVER checked out a towel under his name the entire cruise.

I had not signed a slip for any of these charges.

Thankfully, checking your account is very easy with the Royal App and I was able to get them reversed as they came up, but what a hassle!  Keep an eye out!

Good to know that the charges can be checked on the Royal App!  I didn't even think of this our last cruise so would check the old fashioned way on the TV.  App would be much easier. :) Thanks!

Thank you for your review and comparison. One thing to note though, in all of my Royal cruises the beds have never been separated upon entering the cabin for the first time; even though I request it when I first book. I'm not sure if this is just the default set up or what. They are always separated at turn-down though....

I have asked about this recently and the answer I received was that it is now standard to leave the beds together and then request any changes needed to your Steward once you are on board.

Just off of the Oasis a couple of weeks ago and we had music before 10.  Most bands started between 9-9:30, and there were some limited options even earlier.

We were just off Oasis too and we had plenty of options of music before 10pm.  They had some really great musicians in the middle of Central Park.  We would sit outside at Vintages for a drink every night at about 7pm and listen.  I want to say we heard them just about every night we were there.

Bartenders will give you an unopened bottle of beer if you are purchasing it, and not on a beverage package.  They have instructions (exceptions will be cited) to open beers  for those on beverage packages and drink vouchers.

We will able to get unopened cans of beer on our last cruise, we had the deluxe beverage package.  My husband liked a certain IPA (don't recall the name) they had in the pub.  Would take both our cards there every day and get two unopened cans.  Maybe it is dependent on the venue/bartender? :classic_wink:

Yikes, there are signs at towel check out and this also isn't new but who all reads them or can read them as they aren't in every language?  My only hesitation on fully supporting this charge is RCCL still has the towels, the passenger doesn't (assuming) - then I have some issues with them charging the per towel fee but I'm not sure how else they could do it either!

I hear what you are saying for sure.  RCI is getting money for towels they already purchased.  Maybe they use the fees to buy more? :) I really liked the towel process on Celebrity.  Just get towels as you need them and put them in the dirty towel bin when done, no sea pass involved and no charges.  And honestly, no one wants to steal those crappy towels.  At least not us. :) But a $225 towel charge would make this guy think twice about leaving them laying around and hogging up chairs in the future!

  7. It was our favorite stop on the last cruise.  We rented a cabana bed and thought it was well worth it as we wanted to just relax for the day.  We spent the day reading and napping while the attendant brought us drinks.  We would definitely rent another the next time we stop there!

  8. A few weeks ago on Oasis we overheard a guy complaining (very loudly) about being charged $225 for towels.  I am assuming the staff removed his towels as he no longer had them, didn't know there was a charge and was going to Guest Services to fight the charge.  If I had 9 towels in my possession I would be sure to make sure to keep track of where they were at and not just leave them on a chair...  But that's just how I roll. :)

  9. We did the Italian wine tasting on Oasis a few weeks ago and it was around $35 per person including the tip (I remember the bill being about $70 for the two of us).  We were given large samples of 4 wines and a small plate of cheeses and meat to complement the wines.  It lasted about an hour, wine was delicious and instructor was very informative.  We enjoyed it and would definitely do it again!  We never saw a price listed anywhere so we went to Vintages the first day and asked for information.  They were offering 3 classes that week; 1 for Italian wine, 1 for French wine, and 1 that I can't remember.  Our tasting was full so I would recommend going early in the week to sign up if you are interested.  Hope this helps!

I'm interested in this as well.  I would be curious as to if you could just show up at the specialty restaurants and be able to eat WITHOUT a reservation.  We eat early and I would like to do that when we cruise In December but it kind of scares me😇

We have been able to walk up to specialty restaurants for lunch many times without reservations.  Not sure if that would work for dinner though.  Would kind of scare me for dinner as well. :)

We just got off the Oasis yesterday and only got off on one of the three ports.  We have been so many times that we enjoy a quiet ship while others have gone ashore.

We were on that sailing as well and only got off at one of the three ports too. :  Staying on the ship was so quiet and relaxing, which is what we were looking for on this trip.
