Britannia compared to Britannia Club
Staffordshirecruiser replied to TowandaUK's topic in Cunard Line
Hi Wonky and Winifred - thanks, I thought about this, but would have had to upgrade two deposits as the change triggers a full deposit. Decided to leave for now, but may come back to this idea later. The on board person told me you can sometimes split into two bookings, which together have a higher value, so I’m thinking about this too. However we would end up with even more cruises then! I think a lesson to the wise is to book the longest dates Cruise at the lowest value as a placeholder when on board, and then bring forward. thanks again -

Actually I wasn’t, - part of the reason for the disappointment in Cunard in this respect. I booked on board on both QM2 and QV, so I think there are gaps in their information provision process. -

Hi, just bear in mind if uk booking the deposit increases to the standard percentage you move the cruise you booked on board. Also you have to book within a year. In our case we weren’t told about either when on board. The date issue is extra annoying as we had two further cruises booked in the year already so wanted to move it by 15 months. I am still thinking about what to do about this? -
Hi, I’m on Sky right now, and suite breakfast will be in Sabatinis. Hope this reassures fellow passengers, whilst allowing those who prefer other options to enjoy them.

Hi, I am in a similar situation - I would save £1125 allowing for the deposit to be lost, and loose $800 OBC. My plan is to book with the 10 percent offer, even though I would need to pay a higher deposit. Then transfer my on board booking to a new 2025 booking when they come out which will mean I can reuse the £350 deposit and get the $800 OBC on that cruise. Hope that makes sense, maybe worth thinking about?

Concierges were always busy on my trips.

Kettles in Cabins and Suite
Staffordshirecruiser replied to Staffordshirecruiser's topic in Oceania Cruises
Hi Panama, that’s something I will try if I ever travel on Oceania again. -
Hi, I had a lovely time in Queens Grill in December last year, it was very special, for context we were celebrating it being 35 years to the day since we had previously sailed with Cunard, we even had the Grills Menu to show them. I liked it very much, but some people may prefer something less traditional. If you have a specific questions I would be happy to help.

Hi, by fluke we got the same one we have had for our other Sky Princess sailings - R611. It means my feet know the way to the concierge lounge on their own! There’s an irony in having the laundry so near when the full suites offer a free service - but we actually find it’s a really good route through the laundry to the port side of the ship.

Kettles in Cabins and Suite

Thanks everyone, I’m not quite sure how I managed to produce a duplicate thread, sorry for the confusion. I am now off the ship and have enjoyed my tea today with fresh milk, and freshly boiled water. Bliss. -
Kettles in Cabins and Suite

hi Harters, noticed we live quite near by. I’ve defaulted to early grey with skim milk as my coffee equivalent - but can’t wait to get off the ship and hit the Yorkshire tea. Oceania are very clear that a kettle would be confiscated on safety grounds - and the future cruise consultant advises they are not available on their brand new ship either - but don’t explain why Viking, Cunard, Princess and Saga are able to have them - you would think there would be the same insurance and safety concerns for all the ships? Tanks ToxM, - Appreciate the heads up. -
Hi, could a well experienced Oceania traveller offer advice on the following. We are staying in a B1 on Riviera on an UK round trip and a kettle cannot be provided due to safety issues. The practical implications of this are multiple trips to Baristas to obtain boiling water, an essential ingredient for my frequent tea fix. As all the other lines I’ve travelled on have kettles eg Viking - by request, this has put Oceania at a disadvantage for my future cruise shortlists - however as I have enjoyed much of the rest of what is on offer, I wondered whether the suites on Riviera may offer a kettle, or perhaps the balconies on Vista? Many thanks for any advice.

Hi, I have had two lovely stays in S4 penthouses last year and am in the process of choosing further cruises. Wondered if a recent traveller could confirm the following which may have been altered as the ships are sailing fuller? Is it still possible to get a quiet attentive breakfast in Sabatinis if you arrive early each day? Does the concierge lounge still offer a quiet sanctuary during the day with staff serving treats, and a concierge person on duty to sort out reservations, tenders etc.? Do they still have the pre-dinner drinks in the concierge lounge? Are you able to get a seat without queuing in the club class restaurant? Do you still get a turndown service and free laundry? On a more general point, are the Specialty Restaurants running over capacity now Princess Plus includes it? Has anyone noticed any other deteriorations, or better still improvements? Thanks very much.
