  1. I love TimTams but normally I'm such a "cookie snob' that I wouldn't eat one unless it was homemade. My husband just shakes his head, smiles & eats another one.

Pia the pagkage I got at Peperidge Farms yesterday had 3 different flavors inside- Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate & the White which I know you said you didn't care for. Guess I'll have to go to World Market for the caramel. :p:DTomorrow on my day off.

  2. Eileen, it's really all your fault. Hiding them in the freezer was a great idea, but now I only have two left. Wonder what happened to them.

Anyhow, I just sent Pepperidge Farm an email inquiring as to where I can purchase them locally. Like I really need to do that.

Well Pia unfortunately there is a Pepperidge Farm store about a mile from my office.:D I went there today & got a box. They are TimTams but unfortunately they only had the chocolate not the caramel- $2.99. At least if I get them there I avoid the Australian licorice.

  3. Went to a Wine/Gourmet Food shop near home today & there was the Darrell Lea black & strawberry licorice. Too close to home. Well I bought a bag of each & managed to make a good dent in the black. It was better for my will power to have to drive 20 min.

  4. I HAVE to stop reading this thread. I think that it is making me fat!:D

I know what you mean.My job allows for a lot of free time so I read CC, love the "live" reports but always wind up hungry so I go home & eat! The ones with the pictures are the worst!

  5. I am sure they will join the chorus of other goodies and their glee club.

You should "hear" the See's Candy - can't sleep if there is too much in the house:rolleyes:

Don't get me started on anything with marshmello either!!!

I love See's & the have a kiosk in one of our malls during the holidays. We always go at least once if not more.

  6. You can pick them up on your next trip to Canada--we still have them here---but I they are different from the US version. We have the English version of Mars Bars---YUM!!!

Someone mentioned Cadbury Flake which borught back memories of my childhood in Scotland----an ice cream cone with a Cadbury Flake bar sticking our of it!!! I can buy Flakes here but for some reason they always seem to be rather stale:(

I bought Flake bars & they were awful so I threw them out. Maybe they were stale & that's why they tasted so bad.

  7. I'm so sorry about the accident Pia but thankfully you're OK. I know what you mean about keeping them in the freezer mine went there last night but I think I'll take 2 out for desert tonight. :D:D Guess I'll be making another trip to World Market for chocolate licorice.

  8. Well I hope Pia will see this before she goes to World Market, maybe she can see if they have them there. My husband would defninitely love these & I may as well tell the truth, so would I.:D:D

  9. Good Morning everyone. OK, today is Tuesday, and as promised I am going Tim Tam hunting. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but if it gets him a cookie he'll go along with anything. ;) Will check in with you later today and let you know if I was successful. :)

Sounds like my husband. Happy hunting.

  10. Well if everybody else's World Market is like mine they should be glad for this thread! There were 2 people in the store besides me. There was no worry about me being tempted by chairs as I made a beeline for the candy/cookie department & left.:D

  11. You bought this at World Market? I was in there once. was unimpressed and never went back. I will have to drive about 20 miles, but some time this week I will get up there to see if they have them.

I can't believe I'm actually going to do this.

I felt the same way about the World Market :(& then when I went the other day there was nobody there to help me I almost left but finally found them on my own. Never did find the chocolate covered licorice so if you do let me know the brand.

Think I'll have a caramel one now to celebrate.:D

  12. Ok we now have Arnotts chocolate & caramel & Arnotts chocolate original. $3.99 for 12.:eek:We also have Kookbura red licorice & some Cadbury flake bars. Couldn't find the chocolate covered licorice. Naturally the bars melted a little in the car while I made one stop but we tried one of each & loved them. I'm eating the red licorice now.

Thanks for starting this now in addition to being a chocoholic I'll have something else to get addicted to!!;):D

  13. What have I started  I am glad some of you are trying our Tim Tams and Dorset those penguin "bickies" (bickies is what we call biscuits in Aus - slang) might be nice but nothing tastes quite the same as Tim Tams. quote]

You have started a Tim Tams rush! Someone posted a link to the store in WA state that carries them so I checked it out since I live in WA State. Of course it is only 15 minutes from my house and after adding some Tim Tams to my cart' date=' I added my zip code to check on shipping costs and it came up saying I was so close I could pick them up directly. Now I am in trouble. If these are as good as you say and I try them out, I now have a ready supply to these tasty treats! I guess it is a good thing my next cruise is to Alaska and not the swimsuit destinations!

    Thanks Eileen!:D[/quote']

Wonder if they have the in the Seattle Airport? I'm heading out to our World Market as soon as I get off work to try to get mine.

  14. Today I just tried a chocolate covered raspberry licorice made in Australia and it was delish. Don't know the name of is but the licorice was very soft covered in milk chocolate. Yum.

    Vette

We buy Australian black & red licorice at Fresh Market but I've never seen the chocolate covered. Guess it's time to investigate.

  15. Don't know about that new vegemite. Although a lot of people have cheese and vegemite. Those cheese slices with vegemite through them died a quick death. So I don't know if this will catch on either. Us Aussies are pretty particular where our vegemite is concerned.

Licorice chocolate bullets are my absolute favourite lolly. I am naughty and have some every day. I have set a limit and six months from my cruise I have to stop and diet. One month to go........

I haven't seen a licorice bullet for years but would love to find some. Cadbury chocolate is so wonderful but I can't keep it in the house except for special occasions.

  16. Just wondering if anyone has seen Arnotts Tim Tams for sale in USA - specifically Fort Lauderdale or Los Angeles?

Would love to buy some before we get on the ship or get some in LA for the week we will be spending there. My DH just loves Tim Tams with a cup of coffee. I don't think you can bring them in from australia.

Ok my curiosity forced me to google Tim Tams. They sound delicious & as a bit of trivia they are named after a horse that ran in the Kentucky Derby in 1958. At the about Australia shop they have recipes so I'll be on the lookout for them when I'm in a store that has lots of import stuff.

    Have a great weekend everybody.
