That’s a shame! We had a great day snorkeling with Blue Water in 2013!

We stayed at the Condado Hilton and it was great! It is just outside of OSJ so that is a short cab ride and it is on Ashford Avenue, which has a bunch of restaurants and bars.

We just booked for 12/1/2018

Just off 10 nights on the Eclipse. We ate in Blu every night. The service and atmosphere were fantastic. We had the same server and assistant every night.
There were some times when I did have trouble picking an entree but didn't want to go to the MDR. It was just a very nice relaxing dinner every night - that is not something we get in the MDR so we'll probably stick with it (price being right).
Can we request a server? Who was yours :)

My wife got hers in less than two weeks! We were shocked :D
-
Thanks all!
No suite or CC. We're in AQ. Sounds like Aquaspa Cafe is the choice!

Nice assessment GHStudio, it is the missing amazing breakfast, but if the dining room is going to be open that makes it better. I do like the private dining room of Blu and in suites sometimes it makes no sense for the upgraded dining room price wise especially now since you must buy the specialty separate. With an 1A you can choose to eat in specialty or not and not worry about the uncharge. Do you mean 200 pp a week? I love everyones financial assessments on cabin categories!
I will say, especially for you Ron L, (I still remember your awesome review from the Summit a few years ago) you are probably going to love Aq the first time. If you like the PG find the times that work for you, or go to dinner late and be there when it is likely empty. The dining room can be very nice and an easy place to make friends. The waiters do want to make you happy and the food in September was pretty good and better than many. There were less game choices than years ago. You also will not be burdened with your memories of what it was and can appreciate what it is.
Thanks! I'll probably do a review of this cruise as well since it our first time on S class and first time in AQ. I'm sure we will enjoy it, especially since we have to prior experience to compare to.
Ron L, I would just go with an open mind and not focus on the negative comments here. There are a lot of people who enjoy AQ as do I. That is why they charge a premium. These boards are for people to express their opinions which may not represent those of the masses. Will there be issues? Quite possibly. If you look for them, you will find them. You will also find two people in the same class on the same cruise who will have opinions 180 degrees apart. So, don't focus on the negativity and look at the positives. Then you will enjoy your cruise.Always an open mind! :D. One thing I know for sure... We will have a great cruise! We go for the overall experience, which in much more than a cabin class.

Well... I WAS looking forward to our first cruise in an AQ cabin.
Now, not so much...

The subject says it all :)
What are our options for lunch after boarding, besides the buffet?
-
We're going to be in 1547 in January, but that's probably too late since it sounds like you're ready to book.
-
We opted for the buffet that night, too, but mostly so we could be outside for sail away.
We boarded by 11am and were on board enjoying our drink package all day :). We had been in San Juan for three days before, so we did our share of exploring.
-
We've done it on our own two or three times and it is easy, but see if the Celebrity St. John On Your Own excursion is available for your cruise. It leaves from the ship area and drops you off at the ferry dock on St. John, and then takes you back. The cost is pretty close to doing it on your own.
-
It would be nice if they enabled POM by January :)
-
I'm looking forward to trying it when we are on the Eclipse in January. I hope that there is enough non-sushi dishes to satisfy my non-fish eating wife.
Does anyone know if it is open for lunch on embarkation day?
-
I have heard to food is pretty blah also... better food elsewhere.
When we were there we ate at the restaurant by the beach and had the best chicken mole and baked fish I have had anywhere! We also enjoyed the snorkeling. The fish were plentiful, we saw an octopus, and it was easy access. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We're going back in January.
-
When we were on the Summit a couple of years ago I had a drink called a Captain Ron Punch (it had Captain Morgan and Ron Zappata rum, I believe). It was very good, but don't drink it too fast :D
I hope it is still available when we are on the Eclipse in January!
-
We're planning on going back in January. When we were there in 2009 we enjoyed snorkeling because it was easy access and enough fish to keep us happy. We even found an octopus.
Has it changed in the 7 years since we've been there? Pictures would be nice :D
Thanks!

We're going back for the third time in January! I can't imagine going to Costa Maya and not going there! We had a chance to cruise with the owners, Mark and Jane, a couple of years ago and they are great! Their son David does a great job of running the resort an the whole staff is fantastic!
-
This is probably a stupid question, but who gets tender priority? Our next cruise will be our first in AQ. Do we get priority? Probably not
-
Nice! Happy birthday!
-
We've only been to Maya Chan. Twice :D And we're going back again in January. The people are wonderful and the drinks and food are great! there was a lot of grass when we were there in November but the guys were doing all they could to get rid of it. They gave us a chance before getting in the taxis to back out for a full refund, but no one did and we had a great day!
-
We booked through belizeshoreexcursions.com. Our confirmation same from Island Marketing.
We had no issues. It was easy to find their rep once we ere on the pier and they escorted us to their desk to pay. Once it was time to leave they escorted us to the boat, which was clean and held about 40 people. the crew was great and Rojo, the guy who makes the rum punch, was a blast and his punch is good. Maybe too good :D
-
Yeah, I'd say it was a little longer, maybe 30 minutes. We booked through belizeshoreexcursions.com and our boat held about 40 people. As mentioned, the ride depends on the day. When we were there is was fairly choppy, but the ride wasn't uncomfortable. If the waves are OK for the tenders, the ride to Goff should be fine.
First time cruising in 1 WEEK!!! Any words of wisdom?

My top tip for anyone cruising is to take half as much stuff and twice as much money :D
