1. Now it is just for you....I received the letter today.

    PE

The program is more exclusive than ever---I'm still in ;)

I called NCL this morning' date=' expecting to get several answers but surprisingly got the same answer from 3 ladies. One of whom read me

a letter to all the PVPs. It appears you now will be able to apply your certificates prior to expiration but do not have to sail by expiration.

If that is indeed the case  if will be much nicer for all of us (and a better deal for NCL, as well).

    .[/quote']

Let's all cross our fingers for that!!

  2.
Our billing period is thru the 4th or 5th of each month. Does that make that December date the last charges that qualify for Compass Reward points?

Our billing period is around the 15th so there is really no advantage to using the card between then and the end of the year. Also it looks like we should request certificates soon if our final payment is due in December....

Did I read it right that we need a minimum of 500 points and any points left over do not get transferred to WorldPoints?
On the points-yes, someone posted that leftover points would be dropped (they got the info by calling)---but I suspect that it's still up in the air as to if that will be the final decision.

As for billing cycles-again it was posted yesterday that someone called BoA and was able to get their billing period moved to the end of the month in order to get better use of the program. It might be worth a phone call if someone is gonna be near a 500 point increment. But as mrbdwarf posts above--it might not matter and they'll automatically give all points earned by the end of the year. It's still a mystery to me (but then I haven't even received my 'letter' yet-so for all I know, everyone here is yanking my chain ;) LOL)

I have a question for Mrbdwarf---have you heard if the certificates will be automatically sent out or will we need to request them?
  3. I spoke to BoA and was told that points certificates will be sent as whole numbers only. If you have 293 points at the end of Dec.,you get 2 100 point certificates and your 93 points just get thrown away. They won't convert them to WorldPoints. You just lose any odd points.

Oh my-the news just keeps getting worse & worse

  4. I have a similar experience from this month. I sent mine in last Friday. October 5 by certified mail. They could have not been received before Tuesday 10/9 as Monday was Columbus day no mail service(except express mail). They were credited to my account yesterday. Also third trip on them.

Ours went in the mail on Oct 9, checked with the post office & they were delivered on Oct 16, credited to our acct on the 17th. We presently show a credit balance on "my cruises" so I'm waiting to see how long that takes to get backed out to the credit card. My wife & I were just discussing how nice it would be if they could just prepay our tips/service charge with some of the excess and give us an OBC for the remainder.

  5. if you entire cruise including down payment is 2400 and you have paid a $400 deposit and send it 5 certs for final payment. You will get the 2000 credited, 400 refunded to your cc and lose a $100 from the cert. That's how people get money back...its their money not extra from the cruise line....

Thanks for posting this Sid, it's been over a year since I've redeemed any and was looking for just that exact info because (as we know) banks & cruiselines sometimes change their rules!

We got our cruise for $2120 & have $920 due at final payment (after our deposits). I now feel safe sending in $1500 in certificates. I really only wanted $1000 in certificates for this one but they emptied my acct and the gal on the phone said she entered it wrong and couldn't stop the process once done.---But $600 out of pocket on a 10 day Hawaii cruise for 3 people isn't bad :D . I love using these certificates!

    Let's see, roughly $20 pp/pd. YEP I can afford to tip ;)

BTW-I think we've only used about $5000 in certificates total, but when you are use to insides, outsides, & balconies at best and are willing to cruise in the slack periods, it sure is nice

  6. We will be cruising to Hawaii and want to bring home some pineapples, can anyone share what we must do to bring them home? Can you take them on the plane or do you have to ship? How do you have to package?

    Aloha

I think I'm having Deja Vu all over again!
