I did the promo code…..got a great deal, and when I went to print everything out, it left off the “all included”……no gratuities, drinks or Wi-Fi on my documents, but it did have the $100 OBC…

thank goodness I’m such a paranoid person I screen shot everything because I have had problems in the past!  I have a screen shot of the pricing where it’s all included. Calling Celebrity tomorrow.

    EVERYONE…..CHECK YOUR DOCUMENTS!!!

Let us know what happens... if they honor the info on your screen shot

  2. On deck 6 there are a few angled cabins that are considered obstructed...forward facing 6207, 6209, 6208 and 6210. These have generally been priced the same as other obstructed cabins on deck 6.. they have the lifeboat davits partially blocking the view. Personally I have no issue with this and have booked these a number of times. The other obstructed angled cabins are 6243,6241,6240 and 6242. the other angled cabins tend to be priced a the higher end of the regular veranda pricing. Using not a large difference.. but the deck 6 angled obstructed I felt were a pretty good value. (I am referring to Equinox.. the category names differ a bit on other S class but the obstructed cabins on 6 are still grouped with the lower priced ones on 6

DH & I (long-suffering but still hopeful Dolphins fans) have sailed twice on Equinox during football season, and we were able to watch every game that aired during our sailings (3 games in total) at Craft Social.  Miami plays twice during our next Equinox cruise in October, 1:00 PM the first Sunday and SNF the second Sunday, so I’m fairly confident that they will air onboard.

Do you recall if those same games were available in you room or just in the bar?

  4. I had a similar question for a college game. If I recall correctly they carry ESPN 1 and 2..so you might check their schedule for that day. Alas the ND - Ohio State game is on ABC. I think we can stream that on DHs laptop ..but will have to upgrade wifi to do so.  I believe that the televisions in the casino likely are carrying ESPN 1 and 2..not sure they get another service..if so..why not offer that to passengers as well? Checking the link below it looks like the game you want to watch is on CBS and Paramount plus. You might be able to stream that ..we are novices to streaming but I think..if you have cable that you might be able to log onto your cable provider account and stream Paramount plus if they carry that... but still trying to figure this out for myself..   https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/nfl-tv-schedule-2022-fox-nbc-cbs-espn-amazon-tnf-snf-mnf/

  5. If it were me... I am a nervous nilly... I wouldn't try it. I have an additional reason to the ones stated... just the planning and thoughts about risk..would impact my ability to enjoy the last day at sea. So for me... and this is a personal thing.. I am willing to take more time... so that I can enjoy every day of my cruise... but that is me... I always have back up plans for my back up plan.

Thank you for your review and glad you had a good experience!  Just a note re the over the bed storage bins, they should have been completely empty and totally just for your use.  If anyone encounters this situation, just ask your steward to remove the items.

That surprised me too... we have never noticed items up there. Perhaps they were place there temporarily and the room steward forgot them? Glad OP had a great cruise... we were on Equinox back in April and will be again in a few weeks. I love this ship and the others in this class.

When the website is working it is pretty clear.   I like others have seen the issue where the website doesn't give you and option for Always Included on a veranda cabin.   Celebrity IT.   I think it usually takes them a couple days to straighten out issues after loading new sales into the system.  I can and does vary sailing by sailing.

I think you are correct... I tried this multiple times with the same result..until just now... now the option pops up for veranda cabin.

I noticed same thing when mock booking for a single room.  However when I tried same room for two persons, there was choice for cruise only and for all included.  Strange enough for exactly same price.  When I went to summary page it indeed mentioned beverage package, gratuities, internet all included.

It was odd... on my iphone the two choices appeared..but not on my computer..until I changed category to inside cabin..then the choices were there... must be a glitz in the programming.

All Included is just a new name for Always Included.

Unless booking a Suite or Aqua which only have AI pricing;  after selecting a cabin the next screen shows me the the Cruise only price in a box  and next to that the AI price, explaining what AI includes.

I think it is quite clear what one is booking.

When I did it on my iphone I did see the box for a choice..but when I tried on my computer.. it went straight from the cabin selection... to the page for dining time, insurance and gratuities.. seeing gratuities told me that this was cruise only... bu there was no option of cruise only vs AI...

You are correct..if you get a screen showing the choice..it is clear...not so much if they ship that screen.

I tired another category ..inside...and this time the choice pops up... so for the cruise I was looking at the hangup was with veranda cabins... all the other higher levels were sold out... so checked inside to see if there was a change

  10. I decided to do a mock booking under the latest sale..the one that gives you 75% off the second passenger..and 4th. I expected to see an option to select cruise only or All Included.. which has been a new feature over the past few months. But there was not option like that... when I got to the booking screen.. the only clue I had that it was cruise only was that you could pre pay gratuities... then when looking at the summary... no mention of any add ons.  I mention this for those who want to check prices.. be careful not to give up your AI thinking there has been a major sale.  The way the screens have been set up will likely not be an issue for new cruisers... but if you have AI... be careful.

Can he or you get regular 'play by play' emails from friends or other fans with clips to follow???

Lots of emails, too... over a few hours.

    Good luck and bon voyage

Now that is an idea... I know in the past he has just checked scores online. This is not a serious issue...but we don't get wifi...other than what the AI offers..so I thought that perhaps if he upgraded for a day that that might work...just haven't tried to do that before...

  12. Yes... what was I thinking? DH wants to watch the Notre Dame - Ohio State game... So here is my question.... Since it is on ABC... I assume it will not be on the Celebrity TV... since they only have ESPN. If we can find it being streamed ... can you purchase the higher end wifi..for just one day? Roughly how much would that cost and can you do that onboard? I know this is a dumb question..but we only use wifi to check email. As he pointed out..it is only the biggest ND game of the year.

    Thanks in advance.....

  13. One of the surprises I experienced on one of Edge's early sailing was when I tried to use the Ap one morning...while in bed pulling into port. I hit the 'morning' button... the lights came on slowly..which is what I expected...however.. the blinds also went up..which was a bit of a surprise while pulling into port...:)

tr - I, for some reason, have archived all of her messages to me... and I do re-read them every few months to get a renewed grip on living and life and her influence on how I view cruising and specifically X, even though she did sail other lines, X was her line of choice and it showed!!!

Unlike me, often, she was very even tempered and gracious...

Thank you for mentioning her - bon voyage

Boy we had some great discussions..speculating on Edge before she launched... good times... I was so sorry when she passed.. she was a great asset to the Celebrity CC boards.

  15. We arrived for our April 24 cruise... and discovered...after the wheelchair pusher took us to our cabin..that is was not the one we had booked. I realized right away that our deck 6 cabin was likely a quarantine cabin..but would have appreciated advanced notice. I had specifically selected that cabin for its larger veranda and it was close to an area where we could park the scooter without interfering with hall traffic... Fortunately the Dec 8 cabin..while it did not have a larger veranda.. was close to a similar spot for the scooter. The other problem came when our luggage didn't arrive... not surprising since the bags had tags for our original cabin. But they were found just before dinner. A bit late if we had planned on changing.. I also had a photo of the bags to help the steward identify them.

The cabin moving has been going on since they restarted cruising. If you are on deck 3 or 6 ..it might be a good idea to reach out shortly before the cruise...to see if they know what the plan is. Not sure they will have any better info..but worth a try.. but if on either deck..don't be surprised at a move...  Did I read that OP got OBC? We didn't.. but I didn't complain either.

Just bought the classic non-alcohol package for $16.78 pp/pd which includes the gratuity.

I was using the list price vs discounted.... I assume the price you paid was the pre sailing discounted price... I didn't use that because it can vary...but if you do go with that it does save you...assuming you aren't much of an alcohol drinker. We never used to get a beverage package..but our last few cruises have included it...Frankly it is probably a breakeven for us... I end up having many more coffees and fluffy drinks than I did before

  17. I did a mock booking for a Dec 10 day sailing... used gross classic package price for my upcoming 10 day sailing in Aug:

    1A cabin

cruise only/pp                            AI (gratuities, classic beverage, basic wifi)/pp

    price/person       $1345.00                                   $1849.00

    Port tax                    167.36                                       167.36

    Gratuities                 155.00                                          incl

    Classic pkg.             690.00 *                                         incl

Total                      $2202.36                                 $2016.36 and includes wifi

    * I think you may be charged an additional 20% to this fee. So for this particular sailing and cabin type... AI is a better deal.

May differ on other sailings..but here is an example

If you go with the classic non alcohol package is about $18/day (before any prebooking discount and I believe before 20% gratuity) this reduces the total to $1692.. so will save several hundred dollars.. for an occasional bottle of wine or cocktail..outside the cc cocktail hour if you are Elite.

Guess the $75+ I tipped the bar servers wasn't enough 😞

Really, he did this on at least two cruises that I recall..but they were during the covid restart period when crew was particularly happy to see passengers. Now if I recall it happened after several days into the cruise and we had established a relationship at the bar we hung out at...so it may be unusual

In 30 years sailing with X have NEVER noticed a large group of children on a sailing.  Took my children on an X cruise back in the 90's when they were pre-teens and they enjoyed it.  Then took them on Royal.  That was it.  For the next 10 years they only wanted Royal.  How can you blame them?  X allows kids but Royal encourages them with water slides, zip lines, surfing, bumper cars, skydiving, etc.

IMO one way to increase the average age onboard is bring back the longer 12-14+ night sailings that are less attractive to families.

What got us on Celebrity were the longer itineraries... and we stayed for the service and overall experience. Good point about longer cruises and children... another advantage is longer cruises tend to be more expensive than shorter ones are less likely to get the party boat type of young adults. I do wish they would add more stops to islands less traveled..

I have found the kids on Royal not to be a problem. The many activities do engage them. The cruise line I have been on with the worst behavior was Carnival. There were groups of kids at the show without their parents heckling entertainers. I also saw more bad adult behavior. I didn’t  book Carnival after my second try because of the adults and kids on that line. On Royal, never saw anything to that extent. If I had young kids I would take them on Royal or NCL.

I really didn't mean to suggest that the kids on Royal are a problem..but there are so many more than on the Celebrity cruises I have been on..they seem to congregate more and act like kids... doing kid stuff..running around..nothing bad, necessarily. Our experience on Royal is you see one or two at a time and so less running around on the pool deck. But I have never seen bad behavior on Royal except perhaps for that kid that hit all the stops on the elevator and then left 🙂
