  1. They will sail around the storm. The worst that could happen is they will change your port or not stop at all if it's stormy. So go with a flexible attitude. :D

Like others have stated the cruise lines won't intentionally put you or their expensive ship in harms way.

    Hope this reassures DH

  2. Cruising on Liberty of the Seas in January. Returning to port on Sunday, January 28th. Has anyone ever taken a Royal Caribbean transfer with a flight that early? I called and talked to a representative and was told the earliest flight I should have booked out was 12:30?

Looking at Galveston Limo, we can take an 8:05 shuttle and be at the airport by 10:05. RCI really doesn't have a shuttle that leaves that early from the port?

Any other besides Galveston Limo I should be looking at? One way for the two of us is looking to be $70. Anywhere else with a better deal?

The cruise tramsfer shuttle will not leave until it is FULL. Get your own private transportation. Check your roll call for another couple to split the cost.

  3. most ships get a Miami feed, you might get a nationally televised game. If the Falcons are you cruising decision, stay home.

Lol. I think she should just record it on the dvr. I personally don't care for sports and can't imagine spending 2 hours of a cruise watching a game.

  4. I'm sure any bar on any ship will have some sort of game on, and you can ask the crew person there to change it to a Falcon game. The last cruise I was on had a game on the giant screen outside, I forgot which game, but it was a blast.

Thanks for the reply. This die hard Falcons fan would seriously rather stay home than miss the game.

  5. How reliable is this for keeping in touch with cruise mates using the text feature? I've had horrible Internet connections on every cruise. I was hoping the app was better. We will be on the Fantasy next month.

  6. The lines to get a rental car after the cruise are LONG. Arranging a private taxi/limo would be the quickest but not cheapest way to ensure you don't miss your flight. Make sure you take off your own bags and try to be first in line to get off the ship. Be in line by 6:30-7am. They will have juice, coffee, and pastries to enjoy while you wait.

You will get more information if you search the Florida departures board.

  7. There are several shuttle services recommend on the ports of call forum. You can also do 2 1-way car rentals. This would avoid paying for the rental car during the 7 days you cruise.

    BTW, you will love Magic.

  8. I know there are hundreds of Sign and Sale questions, but cannot find an answer to this. If I already purchased the Cheers package, pre-paid gratuities, and purchasing excursions off site, do I need to put money onto my Sign & Sale card? What other purchases could I be paying for?

Items from the gift shops and drinks above your allowance on Cheers.

  9. Charity/thrift stores! I browse on a regular basis, so I can wait for the really great finds to come along. Cocktail and "gala" dresses are the best, as they have usually only been worn once, if at all. I also have a number of Ann Taylor and WHBM separates that appear to have been donated by the stores. I love the fact that I find brands and styles that I might never have known or considered. Saves me a ton of money (for cruising, of course), and the proceeds go to a good cause.

I love Goodwill for formals. Since you only wear them once. Also Clothes Mentor. It's a franchise consignment type store
