Another quick question is will we receive a beach bag in our room on the first day to use at the pool and to go on shore?
You should get a canvas bag with soft handles..no zipper, but a zipper pouch inside. That's what we got in AQ class..It was in the closet.. if not ask your Room attendant..You can take it home.
Pool towels are available at the pool, no limit, and left there in bins after use. (there's no check out/in system)
..Beach Towels for shore excursions are in the cabin, or supplied by attendant on the evening before port .and must be returned at the cabin. ( charge applies if lost)

On average, if anyone knows, what per cent of cabins per cruise are comped or discounted for gamblers?
Are these prime cabins, like the suite nentioned here or " leftovers" if bookings are slow for cettain ships/ itins?
Do these deals bring alot of revenue to Celebrity? if gambling alot..it would seem less spent on excursions, dining, shops, spa etc???

My sense of smell is horrible, although there were a few spots that did not smell good. Mostly I didn't smell anything bad. It was not clear, that's for sure. The air is very humid. I never had a good hair day, or good hair minute for that matter.
thanks.. I have hair that frizzes in Fla, on cruises, and esp parts of Italy..so I have ways to tame it.
But breathing in humid air is sometimes stressful which is why I asked! Also arthritis can flare.. but does not sound extreme there.

another great review... Glad you are home safe without any travel issues!

Aqua does not get any special lunch, and its restaurant BLU is not open for lunch during the cruise..only bkfst & dinner.
.You can arrange to go elsewhere including mdr and specialty dining for dinner.. and for bkfst and lunch buffet or spa cafe.

After dropping off the bags 💼 and checking out the room, it was time for a little walk and dinner 🍽️
The hotel is very centrally located and everything is in walking distance.
Since it’s Easter 🐣 the majority of restaurants are closed.
So we took a walk and found one.
We went for grilled sardines and Greek 🇬🇷 salad 🥗
After dinner we went back to our hotel.
The party girls (not)🥳😂🥳 had to visit the rooftop terrace🤩
What a view 🤩😁👍🏻
It’s approved💙✨💙
We had some coffee on the terrace and soaked into the view of Acropolis✨
great photo..awesome view!
the Queen is looking awesome!

We were also aboard the cruise being dissected from every angle and perspective. We took many photos from the Retreat deck as well as our Villa balcony on deck 15, albeit with either an I-Pad or I-phone. I too have photos that make Edge look perilously close to shore, however the same photo taken at the same time and same location without zooming in shows the shoreline in the far distance. At no time did we ever believe, or even suspect, the ship was dangerously close. The attached brief video from our balcony in the far front of the ship shows one of the tour or fishing boats in the area and in my mind provides another perspective on how close Edge was in comparison.
I realize the thread is about the alleged incident, but I did find this video beautiful... What great views..!

DH and I sailed on the Constellation in March, before the refurbishment. It needed a lot of it but none of that would change the unfriendly crew and officers nor the mediocre food. Bar waiters on Deck 10 were snarky and we constantly had to wave them down for service. We are 4* Mariners on Holland America and enjoy the HAL ships' friendly crew and officers, the wonderful food, and the beautiful ships. We are also Diamonds on Carnival and even those cruises, those without a lot of kids, have better food and friendly crew. This was our first and last Celebrity cruise.
sorry you disliked your Constellation cruise.. Celebrity is not for every one but credit you for trying something new to you...
Seems you are happier on Holland and Carnival..We never tried either as Celebrity has been our "go to" for many yrs.. without any issues with bar service.
We could not imagine taking 50 cruises on Carnival!

Day 2. We were supposed to be able to Tender to Avalon. Santa Catalina Island today . Not. Captain says sea conditions are to rough for Tendering.🙁.
Sun is shining and we are floating around a mile off the Island. We can See it but not Touch it.
I don’t get Seasick under Any conditions and could handle the boat ride but X has to look out for the other 99 percent.
I expect the Activities Team will come up with some added distractions ?
Last night at the 8:15 guest participation game show “True or False” I won the first round but gave the prize (a nice Celebrity T-shirt) to the 2nd. Place guy. I have a Lot of them.
I like that the evening game show on This ship is at 8:15 pm unlike every other X ship I have been on where it is 8:00pm.
That gives more guests time to get there after the 7:00pm theater show or early dining.
So Onward to our next port. San Francisco. I may be up early for passing under the Golden Gate Bridge.
I wish we could stop at Astoria Oregon as we did on this cruise last year.
The sail in viewed from the Sky Lounge is incredible and Astoria is a Docked port.

sorry you will miss Catalina. we had a great day there..hope you get there another time!

What context would you like to see when you see reefs close to the ship?
In general, verification of any photo or video before it becomes evidence to be relied upon, is a multi prong process.Used to be more simple but in high tech times it has become more complicated..
Yes, we see what we see and it looks bad, but most who are commenting were not eyewitnesses, and even if they were they may not have the best perspective.
.What are we looking at? ..perspective, distances, depths, conditions, time of day, who took it,, their background, equip used, among many items to be examined.
Many including me, will await the investigative results! Til then, I am sure there will be enhanced degree of care on the bridge!

Thank you for the recommendation. We made the reservation at the Westin using Marriott points but I’ll talk with my wife and see if she wants to do that.
I figured points might have come into it.. either for booking or earning them..

Glad to Cheng weigh in, finally some real knowledge of maritime events.
He is indeed our CC guru on all things "ship stuff". And breaks it down for those of us without any tech background

This is precisely why a root cause investigation does not assign any blame, or suspicion of blame. It is found that when participants know that there will be no blame assigned, they are more likely to give truthful recounting of the facts of the incident. As I said, the "root cause" or "ISM" culture is designed to fix the problem, by making it almost impossible to have the same incident happen again. Assigning blame, firing a Captain, doesn't do that. Again, if the Captain followed SMS policies and procedures, he is not to blame, the SMS system is, and needs to be revised.
I was waiting for you to post
.will spend some time reading through your points Thank you fir taking the time...with detailed commentary.

Ah ha! Now I know why the Cruise Director, Sue, wore white one evening at the theater and mentioned something about white! Thank you for sharing!😆 Honestly, if she hadn't of worn white and said something about it, I would not of noticed. I think most of the passengers missed the memo, or just didn't give a white woopie. Having said that, I just looked at the pitter patter for that day 4 (yes, I packed them) and it makes no mention of white night. Perhaps it's not something they advertise.
On Ascent..white night party was out. The new deck party is Shine the Night or similar name.... metallic and glitzy dress is in.. (starts at 10:30 p.m.)

Thank you and I'm very to sorry to hear you lost a friend in VT Cruiser. God Bless her in heaven. She's sounds like a good person!
She knew more about the EDGE than anyone, and generously shared her knowledge ..mapped out cabin locations, etc.. She was also well known in her community for neo natal care and innovation! She is still remembered and missed by many.
