We were in a Dolphin deck mini-suite

Regarding your dolphin deck mini suite.....we are in  a club class mini suite on dolphin deck next November ........2 stops in Israel sold us on this particular cruise! also doing it B2Bto port everglades since we live in Florida and I don't like flying...would you do dolphin deck location again on island princess? . .

thanks for your thoughts and perspective!

  2. Since we are cruising to Isreal on the Island next November ,we have been looking at reviews etc here.

we found some great information ( and a REALLY  GREAT " semi "live from!!) currently on this board. Although the writer is blogging on a world cruise from there Island, we found a lot of good info on the ship itself.....plus its a fascinating   read. authored by we_like_ to_ cruise.

  3.  Very good advice from many of the  posts above.....

On background ....during a week long trip to London 15 years ago, my wife threatened ...and... against my will.... drug me to Paris  for ONE day via the Eurostar.  Now we go to Paris twice a year. Flying out of Charles Degaulle (CDG)   can be  very busy, but certainly manageable.

Crazy as it sounds, ,If we are on a cruise, and if  we dock in Le Havre,  we will suffer the several hours on a cruise ship  sponsored bus ride, to have 4-5 hours in Paris on our own before returning to the ship..

Next month we are taking our 8 year old granddaughter to Paris ( her 2nd trip and she insists a yearly ritual!) via the Eurostar from London. The Eurostar is a great option for you to consider and is a lifetime memory  by itself.

A word of caution.... for Your 18 and 20 year old family members, visiting Paris will become a destination they will return to many times! Its that special!

The other reason to ask questions that might have an answer elsewhere is that when people start answering, they drop other helpful hints that the OP might not have even thought to ask. I just learned quite a bit on this thread, even though I already technically knew the answer to the original question.

    very well said!

thanks yowman for that phone number!  I just received an email this morning with an ezair change....

looks like delta is switching the aircraft I had booked out of Paris....I went from comfort plus to economy on the first segment of the trip.Being 6"4" I would need surgery and a can of wd40  to fit in an economy seat!

being a Sunday ezair is closed... but I saw your # and just had a really great chat with a princess rep who is looking into it for me. She is CALLING ME BACK tomorrow!

    thanks again

  6. by "we like to cruise".........greetings from sarasota......great report and we are following along!

regarding your rental car and drop off.... we have a budget car rental one way to port everglades in April for a transatlantic.....since Avis and budget are as one, did you drop off the rental at :

    Ft Lauderdale Cruiseport Shttl,EV3
    2520 Miami Rd,

    FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33316 US

if so ....it sounds like you had a good experience?   thanks in advance and safe travels!

  7. we really enjoyed your posts! they brought back GREAT memories of our recent transatlantic on the Regal!

on that light sensor.......I tried duct tape, band aids, and a ham sandwich in an effort  to disable it...only had marginal success.

we enjoyed the cruise so much we are taking the Regal back to Europe this spring!

PLEASE come back here on your 80's cruise!

    thanks again

  8. Allow me to add my support for the trip insurance store! as mentioned above, anyone who travels a lot should consider the Geo Blue trekker option with its annual  coverage option. we found that also on the trip insurance store website.

    safe travels!

  9. we just got off the Regal on a B2B transatlantic. Our CC mini suite had the larger balcony. It was nice but Really didn't use the extra space ....all the other info shared above is in line with my thoughts.

However for us ..... if it is a port intensive cruise.....CC isn't a "must have" . after a LONG tour day ,we opted

for the quick n easy buffet. On the transatlantic portion ? the club class is wonderful!  immediate seating, same  great wait staff every meal, and large table separation  makes it worthwhile for us.

  10. we disembarked yesterday after 15 days....my observation ....and its  just my experience.......mask wearing was very minimal to non existent , with staff and very few passengers...I saw some signage at elevators suggesting limiting the number of people (maybe 8?) to enter an elevator .Apparantly many of the passengers are reading impaired ....as they overloaded the elevators with12 -14 people....the  girth and perfume  smell created the opportunity to make the moment memorable but certainly not pleasant!

I heard no crew announcements or discussion about numbers of cases ....

As usual, the usual hacking and coughing seemed to increase as the days went on...

Really, from the the buffet ,to the bars, to venues it was very similar to pre pandemic experience.....

you are absolutely going to enjoy the cruise....the captain and crew are remarkable....safe travels!

  11. we too disembarked this morning....it was a wonderful cruise! the crew members were beyond outstanding and made for a great experience.

the ship is in  perfect condition, the food to us was superior.

the only negative? and it didn't in any way spoil a wonderful experience......

Denmal was spot on about the sub par experience in the crown grill......

we greatly anticipated the crown grill experience on Sunday night ....but it was exactly as Denmal described...sensing our disappointment, we were offered  a voucher for another night....we declined the offer....not wort the wasted time and noise level at full capacity....

we have already booked another cruise on the Regal next spring...., its that good!
