So here is how it is done on SilverSea. They offer free economy on what they call Door-To-Door. For instance we are booked on a Athens to Rome cruise in April. If we chose to book our own air, they would reduce the cruise price by $900 per person and the air is fully on you. If you decide to take their biz class upgrade, it is an additional $2400 for two people or $1200 pp. Plus you are still paying the $900 included in original quote. That still gets me from San Antonio to Athens and return from Rome for around $2100 pp. Great deal. Only caveat is Biz is only guaranteed on the transatlantic pportion.

Long time SilverSea sailor but looking at an interesting itin on O. I see references to premium economy upgrades but never to business class. Does O offer that option?

I know a lot of complaints have been lodged against SilverAir, but has anyone looked at RT or multicity Biz Class fares recently? We found a fare San Antonio-Athens-Rome-SATX listed at $11,000 pp. There was an alternative at $800 pp but the return flight was listed at 52 hrs. We signed up for DTD on a 23 day cruise and the BC add on was only $1300 pp, we jumped on it. Now we shall see what kind of crap routing they give us. Looked at a RT Auckland recently also, over $10,000 USD RT from Houston non stop. May get too expensive to fly to a cruise.

I have a question on trip cancellation insurance. W e have an annual medical policy, and a repatriation annual policy, plus my insurance has coverage internationally, but all of the single trip coverages also cover that at exorbitant pricing (granted we take expensive trips), but does anyone know of a company that will sell trip cancellation only and not the medical or repatriation add ons?
