We are booked on a Uniworld Cruise (our first river cruise) in November. Uniworld was just voted #1 river cruise line by Travel and Leisure. :)

Used WOW Scotland a few years ago and had a fantastic tour.

Are there any ferry rides involved in that trip from Alesund to Geringer or just land roads?

You posts are just terrific. We'll be in Alesund next month for a day from 9 am- 6pm. I would love to do what you did. Can you give me an idea of the cost.....car, gas, ferries. Did you feel stressed at all that you wouldn't make it back to the ship in time? Thank you!

We had taken a ship provided bus into Helsinki and walked to the Lutheran "Rock" church. It was on a Sunday and we attended a 2 pm service. However, we walked back to pick up the bus and missed it. Barely found a taxi to make it back to the ship with 5 minutes to spare. Our only ever close call on missing the ship. Still makes for a good story.

Do you know the height of the waves?

Is it difficult managing luggage on these public buses?

We sailed there on the QM2 in July and it was very rough. Personally, I would not cruise that way again because of our experience.

Thanks for the great review. We're staying there 12/30 before our cruise. I think we'll use a taxi to the ship.
