I had booked a non-refundable Secret Food Tour for Naples and contacted the company to let them know we would not be able to take the tour, hoping they could sell our tickets even though we couldn’t make it. The tour company was very generous in offering us a voucher for a future tour in any location (they have tours all over the world, including a city an hour from my home). We fully intend to get to Italy some day and hopefully will be able to rebook the tour in Naples, but it is nice to know that we can use the voucher close to home if need be.
  2. Here is the latest...two crew members who were 2019 Employees of the Year were give one week stays in the Edge Villas! I recognize one of them as the person who helped us with our Extend Your Stay excursion, but I don’t recall her name. She was awesome!
  3. Wow, so sorry for this unintelligible gibberish! What I meant to say was... “It looks as though the crew is aboard.” My goodness, my autocorrect was having a heyday in that post. 😳
  4. It looks a small though the crew I should aboard to deep clean the ship. I hope that Celebrity is paying the crew. I would imagine it would be dangerous for some of the crew to fly home at this point? All guesses on my part.
  5. And today’s Instastory #JustCrewIt shows how everyone’s is pitching in to do a deep clean of the ship. Way to go Captain Kate and crew! Love the music she has picked for each video clip, too.
  6. Also...video of the crew dining in the Cosmopolitan restaurant! I am so glad the crew are being treated well.
  7. I really hope that one day we will be able to cruise around Italy as we had planned to this June. 🇮🇹
  8. I was just watching Captain Kate’s instastory and it showed her announcing to the crew that they would each be getting their own stateroom while they were out at sea (near the Bahamas)!
  9. I am glad to see that FCC that’s was used for a canceled cruise will be reissued.

  12. Maybe your cruise will be redirected South? It would require the US foreign port law to change, though. It is certainly too early to tell what may or may not happen. Enjoy your cruises and try not to worry!
  13. Yes. BC announced it last night and I am seeing reports of the rest of Canada following suit. Also all Canadian ports are closed to vessels over 500 (number including passengers and crew) until at least July 1. https://globalnews.ca/news/6671621/justin-trudeau-coronavirus-travel/
  14. Safe and healthy travels, Jim and Iain! You’re posts will be taking the sting out of having to cancel our b2b Italy cruises. More than a few tears were shed over this one. I know we will travel again (hopefully) soon, but right now if we go out of the country we will be put in self quarantine for two weeks. We live 5 minutes from the US/Canada border and now can’t even pop down to pick up mail or get gas. Cheers to you! 🥂
  15. Cheers to you! We decided to cancel our b2b in Italy (likely wouldn’t have sailed anyways) and look forward to when we can sail again.
  16. I cancelled today and my CVP told me that I would receive the FCC by email within 3-4 weeks.
  17. Dianne, I really do hope that we can meet one day to toast a wonderful cruise. We just couldn’t afford to take the risk of losing thousands of $ if Celebrity goes under. Believe me, more than a few tears were shed while struggling with this decision (first world problem, I know)! If the cruise does go ahead, I will raise my glass and toast you from afar.   18. I just cancelled our b2b Italy sailings for June. My CVP was grateful that I had already cancelled the items I had purchased in the Cruise Planner, so the transactions for her will be simpler. She said that we would receive our FCC by email in 3-4 weeks. She was not sure about the FCC we had used for that trip, but she said it would likely be reissued. Is it inevitable that our cruises would be canceled anyways? Probably. But at least I don’t have thousands more wrapped up in this booking had I made final payment.

  20. For me, it would mean my FCC would be worthless anyways, as it had an expiry date of July 2020 (I think)? Not all of us have unlimited funds or unlimited vacation time. With two FCC’s in play, that means they have to be used on two cruises.
  21. In the Cyprus dining room on Edge you don’t get butter unless you ask. They serve olive oil, hummus, tzatziki and another Mediterranean dip with the bread (which also include some pita).
  22. I would recommend having reservations and changing or canceling them if you change your mind. We made reservations and were seated in minutes. Those without reservations had a long wait.
  23. Postponement is possible. I have had to replan this trip four times in five years already. The heartbreak comes in that my chronic pain and back issues are not getting better and I may not be physically able to do this trip whenever we postpone it to.
  24. Yes...that is what my Celebrity Vacation Planner told me yesterday when I called about final payment.
