Just remember that cruise insurance will not cover payments with Gift cards. We will use them for excursions and onboard payments.
Not only is this false, Carnival will sell you travel insurance and you can pay for it with gift cards.

Family style? What if you're solo??
I don't think it would be an issue. They recommend a certain number of choices based on the number of people in your party. We had 2 teen boys with us and had no issues ordering extra, so I would think if you wanted to try a few dishes they would accommodate you in some way.

I agree with most here, Breeze is the best Carnival Ship and my opinion, Sunshine is the worst! Of coarse, this is of the 10 or so we have been on.

We have had both regular and cove balconies. We have been fortunate I guess because we have not had any noise issues from above or outside. It is really cool being that close to the water. You are however a little closed in. The best I can describe it is the difference in being on a house deck that is covered vs one that is not.

The tile they used on several of their ships, mostly the newer ones, is extremely slippery depending on the shoes you are wearing. This is not an issue of cheap shoes or drunken people though those things may contribute to the issue. I can understand why some folks are saying it is not an issue because they have not experienced it, however, to say it is not an issue just because you haven't and to tell people it is not true is incorrect. I understand tile is slick when wet, however, I wear the same shoes to the grocery store, malls and many other places with no issues, you can actually "skate" with the right shoes on the tile they used. And for the carnival cheer section, I am not saying they used cheap tile, just the wrong tile for the situation.

I agree with everyone so far, this was by far the best meal we ever had on a cruise, steakhouse included.

Just curious. Why would you sell a product that every one wants but you only want to sell in limited quantities. Kind of the opposite of the American business tradition. Do they just want you to keep coming to their sites and maybe buy some thing else? I did manage to get Carnival gift cards to pay for final payment, the OBC and a deposit for the next cruise. It was a battle but I managed to do it over a long time span.
Oh well, I am headed to Walmart and maybe the doors will be open, perhaps I will find a cashier and hopefully they will take my money. If not, I will just keep trying and trying and trying. Oh well, there is always China!
The reason they are limited is because it is a rewards program and they have limited quantities available. By limiting them they give other people a chance to get the reward they earned from the company they have been loyal to.

Parking at the cruise terminal is $18 per day, effective 9/1/15
Ouch!

$16.00 per day at the port and it is only for cruisers so no issue at all.

Actually what I said I will stand by. Did I say reviews? I said negative posts, and it is right on. To further argue the point, most of the negative reviews were from when she launched before she was ready. I will stand by my comments.
There are a lot of posts/reviews about the sunshine, find me one where someone gives any specific comments who has not been on the ship, without them start by saying " I heard" or "I read". There are several on this thread already and I believe they are all from folks that have been on the ship. I am not saying it is a bad ship. I am saying it is more crowded than others. That is a fact just by the actual size of the ship compared to the number of passengers it holds. Some people will like it some will not, however, it is a fact it is more crowded than others.

We loved the Sunshine, sailed her on the 8/8/15 sailing. Here is a link to my review with many pics. Much of the negative posts here on the Sunshine are from people who never set foot on her. Go and make up your own mind and come back and let us know your thoughts....
Not true. The negative reviews are mostly from people who have sailed her. My opinion is with a 3 year old it may be a good choice for you. The water works area is great for little ones. It is one of the reasons the ship has no deck space for lounging in other areas. They tried to add things to this ship like the newer, much larger, ships have and there is just not enough space for those things. The serenity are is very nice, that is until just after 7 am when it is completely full! The rooms they added have made the main theatre very small and the comedy club is just a joke, and I don't mean in a good way! People say just go early, and that is true, however, sitting and watching them play bingo for an hour waiting for a show to start is not my idea of fun, neither is standing in line outside the comedy club. I will say the ship was finished nice. The public areas are nice looking, the food choices are very good, even the buffet with the extra amount of people on the ship is laid out in way that it moves people very quickly. Most of the additions to this ship are money makers, extra rooms and pay for eating places. It would have been nice to see updated cabins with things like refrigerators, newer bathrooms and TV systems with the account and menu data. Those things do not make them money so they were left out. Overall, it is a cruise ship that has a lot to do and some good eating places. I would go on it again, but it would be because of itinerary or price, I would choose a different ship if not for those things.

Thanks again for the detailed info!

Thank you , he does have the multiple entry visa, I will also check the other threads.

We have an exchange student from Finland and he will be going with us on the Dream during spring break in March. He is a minor, 17. Has anyone traveled with an exchange student and what documents did you need? I know some of you will say check with Carnival, and I will. I just want to be sure, we have all been given different answers by them before and I don't want to miss anything. Thanks for your help!

Unless you like paying for items that are "free" than no. This program is only to generate a revenue stream for Carnival without needing to provide any service that has a cost associated with it. Other words, free money for Carnival and you get bragging rights that you scored paying for free stuff.
I guess you don't pay for tips either. With FTTF you are paying for the same type of things. Better service!

Confusing question, it sounds like one couple is platinum and the other is not, so you booked for both cabins to get benefits. You can "unofficially" switch cabins and sleep wherever you want, it makes no difference how you don it. At the end of the day everyone over 21 that is "officially" in the cabin has to purchase cheers, it sounds like the person out of luck will be the one who does not want it as they will have to purchase it either way.

Yes , they had umbrellas, I can't remember how much, I think it was a couple of dollars each, it was reasonable.

We used Joe Cool Taxi in Montego Bay. He was great. He took us to a local school and we brought school supplies. It was our best cruise day ever, he also took us around the island and even to where he lived for a hike up a hill with a great view.

If you don't know if your child is male or female, then you might have an issue beyond what CC can help you with. :p:confused:
[emoji52] lol, I do have issues, I'm pretty sure this is not one of them!

Here is what carnival has to say about all of this
This may be what they print but it is definitely not what is actually enforced. The other question is, are children considered men and women?
-
These last couple of comments are exactly true. They are very inconsistent on the dress code. They may allow him to wear shorts and may not.

We have been under the dining room in a cove balcony. No food smell and no noise. Any noise you may hear would be over at the end of dinner, and even then with the carpet in the dining room you won't hear much. As far as the life boat, it looks like your room will be close to a small gap, I'm not sure if you could see straight up or not, we always had a lifeboat, but that is ok for the shade during the day.

Half Moon Cay has a BBQ included. Also a bar to buy drinks. Grand Turk has Margaritaville right there. Both have plenty of beach chairs and space. These are both really good beach day ports.

Those that want to hit the beach are really going to love these ports.
How many pizzas?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I'm sitting here talking to my son about carnival pizza. We are debating on how many pizzas they make in a day. Anyone one have a guess how many they make on a typical cruise, say on a conquest size ship.
