  1. We have cruised on the Breeze several times and it’s sister ship the Magic several times too.

We cruise again on the Breeze on August 3rd.

we love it because it’s not too small and not too big.

There is something for everyone and the layout is really good.

The decor is beautiful done in neutral shades.

We just really like it. I think you will too!

  2. Ed you are right......we we’re on the first week of the back to back luckily port intensive cruise so off the ship a lot.

A few days in people were gathering in the halls complaining.

The pot is what really sent me over. Not to mention these occupants were so trashed, partying and loudly fighting that a fire hazard was a real possibility.

I did use my little platinum priority customer service number and complain finally though security had been saying close to that cabin for a few days.

  3. I think that is a good idea. We love My Time Dining and if you find a server you like definitely request them. When you check in you can also tell them that you don’t mind sharing a table with others. Have fun.

  4. We had this happen on back 2 back cruises we took. It started out the first night and second day with cigarette smoke and the cabin steward actually quietly asked us about it as well as the passengers in the other balcony cabin on the other side of the “smoking cabin”. By the fourth day it had progressed into them smoking weed. When we got back on the ship from our excursion on the 5th day that cabin was empty. I was glad CCL took it so seriously and did something about it. My main concern was the fire hazard though the smell was so strong we couldn’t even sit on our balconies. This included the other cabin on the other side of the “smokers” and the cabins right below. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I am having a major brain block on which nights to expect elegant nights on the Breeze (western) in August. Can someone remind me please?

I have done this exact sailing 2 times in a row but am blank. 🤯🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you in advance for helping me.

  6. Thank you. Considering the age of the boys I wish there was a  pool cabana open but there isn’t. We had to cancel our SB Horizon cruise because I’m going through treatment for breast cancer so I am glad there were 2 ocean cabanas open at least for our July Breeze cruise. I grabbed one. Better than not even though we are still considering the dophin island excursion. But I don’t think the older boys would like the shows etc. and they aren’t being proactive in telling us what they want to do. Therefore I thought a cabana would be better than nothing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  7.

***I should have known the answer but yes we’re fine to book it and take the younger boys they just cannot zip line. Excuse my blonde moment and question.*** 🤦🏼‍♀️

I was looking at the cabanas on Amber Cove. The pool cabanas are full but they have ocean cabanas. My bff and are are crusing with our sons. I have three sons (21, 17 & 😎she has she sons (21 & 8 ). When I tried to book the excursion online it alerted me of the two 8 year children didn’t meet the age requirement.  I read that the minimum age for ziplining is 14 years of age. Which is fine there are plenty of other things we can do with them? I’ve been on hold with Carnival forever and couldn’t find an answer online. Can anyone help?

    Thank you!

  8. But does everyone in the group all  8 of us need the pre existing coverage. That is where I am confused. Because if I cannot go then my 3 sons and their friend won’t go. And there goes more than half of the group. And I seriously doubt my bff and her 2 sons will go either.

I just heard from my TA the hold expired this morning at 8:00 am she worked her magic and they ars holding it a few more hours but the price went up.

And Carnival will give us back $150 of our $250 deposits that we put down in August. That don’t care about my Christmas cancer diagnosis or that I am a loyal cruiser aka platinum.

I highly tecommend insuremytrip....a great company who will take the time to customize your insurance needs....they saw me through a long and diffucult health issue where i had to rebook and cancel numerous times....couldnt revommend them highly enough...do it tomorrow because time is of the essence...and goid luck,in your treatment....you have a great attitude and that counts for a lot....i hope your sister is doing well,too...

  10. It’s come down to the wire. And I have to cancel the Spring Break cruise today or loose they rest of pur deposit. I switched to a new TA for this cruise which we booked right before Hurricane florence hit us. I admit I didn’t catch she booked the cheap deposit with restrictions. And being platinum I should have. In my defense my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer while I was going through Hurricane Florence and I started flying out to help her as soon as we had power and pur roof tarped. I was with her for 3 weeks and then home for a week. I had come home for Christmas and to spend time with my husband and our 3 sons and had my regular mammogram 2 days later and I was diagnosed.

I am having surgery tomorrow at Chapel Hill.

As I said my bff and her youngest son and myself and our late in life gift had the 8 night Horizon booked for Spring Break. Final payment is due today. Apparently we had each put down $250. But will only get $100 back. Trust me I have talked to my TA but she said it’s the rules. I even said I am booking 2 Carnival cruises. One for the summee graduation cruise and then the Horizon for next spring break 2020. And I said remind them I am a loyal Carnival cruiser (platinum only mentioning because it shows we are loyal and repeat cruisers).

So we have to cancel the cruise today and our hold on 4 cabins for the July cruise is up today and I have breast cancer surgery tomorrow.

YES loosing $150 each really perturbs us because we booked these cruises last summed before cancer.

But I have a today to figure this out with the summer cruise.

Does everyone in the party all 8 cruisers have to purchase the more expensive insurance?

I am taking my 8 year old in my  cabin.

in another cabin will be my older 2 sons.

in another cabin will be my  BFF and her 8 year old.

in another cabin will be her eldest son and a friend.

If I put down my downpayment today how quickly do I need to purchase the other insurance.

I am usually not this pathetic but the last few months have worn me down and tomorrow has me rattled.

I want to get these booked. I want to have something to look forward too.

But I can’t risk loosing myself and the group $10,000.

  11.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer right before Christmas. My bff and her 7 year old and myself and my youngest son who is 7 had booked 2 balcony cabins over spring break  on the CCL Horizon for awhile that we are having to cancel. Each of us are only getting $100 of our $250 deposit back......lesson learned there which after being a platinum cruiser I should have known about non refundable deposits.

I am having surgery on Tuesday and the doctors believe they have caught my cancer early and I hopefully will only need surgery and radiation. Right when I was diagnosed I had been planning to book a graduation cruise for our middle son. He will be attending a military college and playing baseball in college. The graduation cruise was going to be myself, my youngest son, graduating son and our eldest son who is a junior in college. As well as a close friend of our middle son who is graduating Highschool too. As well as my bff, her youngest son and her eldest son who attends college with my eldest son. This is the first summer our middle son who is graduating  will have any time available to even go on a vacation since has played baseball. And most likely the last summer he will be able to go with everything in his future. We had planned on switching our deposits to a mid to late July cruise.

I have been reading over the cruise information my TA sent over.  She gave me 2 different quotes for trip insurance through Allianz. But it doesn’t seem as they cover pre-existing conditions. I have until tomorrow when we loose our deposits on the SB cruise and need to cancel our SB cruise. And we also loose our hold on the summer cruise. I cruise a lot but wow crusing has become popular and every ship is full.

We can move our deposit to a SB 2020 cruise.

But that still doesn’t answer how to handle the cancer issue. They believe they caught it early and I am looking at a lumpectomy and 4-6 weeks of radiation.

Any advice about trip insurance with my situation? And what exactly is covered? If I am traveling with my close friend and her 2 sons. And my 3 sons and their friend and we all have the same insurance what happens if someone gets the flu or strep etc.?

Does it effect the entire group because we wouldn’t/couldn’t go without everyone. There is a lot of money on the line. I don’t want to risk anyone’s finances.

I would be so grateful for advice asap. All I ask is to not judge me.  When we were being hit by Hurricane Florence by sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Almost 2 weeks later when I finally  had cell service I found out and as soon as I had my roof tarped and the biggest holes in my house covered I started flying back and forth between her state and mine to care for her. I flew home on December 9th and went for a routine mammogram I had scheduled in August 2 days later. Obviously it didn’t go well. We do not carry the Brac gene. It’s just a fluke or the way I look at it she saved my life or I would have probably postponed my mammogram because I had been gone constantly.

Booking this cruise in July gives me a goal. Something to work towards but only if we’re covered. I know that may sound strange to some of you. But I have been through some tough medical situations before and staying positive and keepiing goals helps me. Albeit they need to be done in a intelligent manner. And I have failed at that thus far or gotten dang lucky on all of our cruises.

ps: I did post over on Cruise Questions.

pps: I use a private TA but she isn’t able to answer these questions.

  13. Because it’s something I like to do. Just as I start my cruise by giving my cabin steward a tip. Maybe it’s nostalgia and it takes me back to cruising with my parents and my father always seeking out the staff to personally thank them and tip them. Remember that is how tips used to be paid?  I have no reason to lie. Why the heck would I post if that were the case. My goodness. I am a Platinum cruiser and this is the way I prefer to tip. To each their own. I don’t do it every time but I always have a good bit of cash left and prefer the personal element to it. And I can add extra to it. Just as you can get an envelope from guest services and leave a little extra too while still leaving the usual amount on your credit card. I consider myself very friendly with my stewards too. Always taking the time to speak to them and thank them. And making sure we leave our cabin(s) as clean as possible.  I also pay off my bill before disembarking. I am one of those people who likes to pay for things in cash. Is that a problem too? Not to be negative of course. 🙄

  14. Sometimes I have my cabin steward tips taken off and get envelopes so I can give cash tips. This also allows me to add more to the envelopes. Same with the dining staff. I am careful not to have all of the tips removed as the alternative services would be left without tips. I still like to give an envelope of cash with extra money because they work so hard and are paid so poorly.

I would be upset to see so many people taking tips off but I wanted to offer a different perspective that not everyone who has their tips taken off doesn’t tip. In fact many of us tip much more. But in cash.

  15. Thanks for the review. I would love to know what excursions you took. We are doing the Western Caribbean next March on the Magic with our son (he'll be 8).

We’ve done a lot of things in Cozumel but our last cruise we were there on Christmas day so we spent the day at Paradise Beach. My pictures and review are posted under Mr. Sancho’s. A blonde moment. 🤦🏼*♀️[emoji23]

But you will have snorkeling, water toys (a great variety of inflatable water toys) and bar service and vibe.

Chankanaab Park is another fun destination you can do on your own.

If you want to out on a catamaran we’ve done the Fury Catamaran (I believe it’s 8 and up) and you go to a beach after snorkeling with inflatable water toys.

If you’ve been to Cozumel and want something different and have the time the ferry to Playa makes for a fun day.

  16. I have never heard that people couldn’t swim in the ocean there if you weren’t using the water toys? That would be really annoying.

It was annoying and it happened to my husband and myself. We didn’t purchase the water toy bracelets. I finally had enough and told the “worker/guard” that I was going in the water just a short distance to take some pictures of our sons who did have water bracelets. And I was going to wash off some sand and cool down. He tried to stop me again and direct me to the pool and the waiter who had been serving us all day said something to him which must have been to back off because we had spent a good amount and I am sure he didn’t want it effecting his tips. Which btw we wouldn’t have done.

But he was very “insistent” before this especially towards my husband. And even after our waiter intervened the VERY few times we did go in the water (NOT EVEN close to the water toys) he would stand on the beach and watch us. And again It wasn’t as if he caught us near the water toys as you can tell from the pictures I posted they were taken further away. Since our 2 eldest sons are quite a bit older than our youngest son we watched from shore as they enjoyed the water toys with him and served as helpers and lifeguards if needed.

Even with that hiccup we still had a really amazing day. And fun Christmas Day! It wouldn’t put me off returning at all!

  17. Thanks for the review. I would love to know what excursions you took. We are doing the Western Caribbean next March on the Magic with our son (he'll be 8).

Our youngest was 7 and loves to snorkel since we live at the beach so unless you book the excursions on your own it’s hard to find snorkeling excursions that allows younger children. We did Paradise Beach in Cozumel because we couldn’t do the other excursions we usually do. It ended up being a great choice. It was Christmas Day and just awesome. We’ve been to Cozumel a lot and maybe because it was Christmas Day.....I don’t know but that day was fun!

In Belize we always use Coral Breezes for our excursions. And go to Caye Caulker for snorkeling with sharks (nurse) and rays. And a fresh lunch on Caye Caulker.

Caye Caulker is always the highlight when we do the western itinerary. Be careful in Belize. Book through the cruise line or Only with a reputable company. I would not recommend walking out of the port area! Coral Breezes offer other excursions too. And observer rates too. Check out their website. We’ve used them at least 10 times.

Roatan- The older boys went zip lining but my husband, myself and our 7 year old had a great relaxing beach day. Roatan is almost like an Epcot country. It was built by CCL as a port of call. Tbh CM has the same feel in the port area.

Costa Maya was a short day 7-2:00 pm so back on board by 1:30 pm ([emoji36]). In December we took a quick taxi to Mahahual beach and also did some quick shopping. In November we just hung out at the big pool and bar and shopped at the port.

    Have fun!!!

  18. You sure you went to Sanchos? [emoji782] No admission fee that I've heard of on the non-AI side at Mr. Sanchos. Paradise Beach does charge a $3 admission fee and asks all visitors to spend at least $10 each on food/drinks.

Omg! I think you’re right! This time was Paradise Beach. Blonde moment. Thank you for politely correcting me. [emoji51][emoji1303]

But we enjoyed Paradise Beach a lot. It was our first time there. 🤣

  19. I will be in Cozumel on Christmas Day 2018 on the NCL Breakaway. I would like to know others experiences with excursions on that day. Were things closed?

We had a blast! My husband, myself and our 3 sons (19, 16, 7) took a taxi to

Mr. Sancho’s. We paid the minimal entrance fee and were told we had to spend $10.00 ( I think it was $10.00). We bought water passes fir the 3 boys. We arrived around 10:00 am and we’re among the first ones there. We spent the entire day there and had lunch. Their water toys were in great shape and they had a lot. Everything was clean. There was a dock to the left you could walk out on and snorkel off of. We took our youngest sons own life jacket and snorkel mask/snorkel. You can rent everything there if needed.

My only complaint was you couldn’t get in the ocean and wash off, cool off or swim if you didn’t have a water bracelet. [emoji848] They do have the pool you can use but we were there for the beach.

We did walk and came across another bar/restaurant with water toys down from Mr. Sancho’s but in my opinion the water toys didn’t look as nice at all. And that was important to us.

Depending on how long you plan to stay. If you will be drinking alcohol and eating lunch you may want to price the all inclusive option.

I thought it would be crowded but it wasn’t. We’ve been to Cozumel MANY MANY TIMES and I have to say this was a great way to spend the day and spend Christmas Day! We took a taxi back to the port and my husband and sons got back on the ship and I shopped for a bit. And yes everything was open.

Below are some pictures from our day. Have a great cruise! My close friend and I try to take our late in life gifts (we both have little boys who just turned 7 ❤️) on trips every spring break. We are considering the Breakaway for next Spring break. Have you sailed on her before?
