  1. My wife and I usually wait until we're on a cruise and then try to find a suitable one and book it while on a cruise. Well, apparently those days are over. We invited DW's Mother and 2 sister in laws to go with us on our upcoming cruise. 2 of them received OBC, and so did we. For our next cruise, my wife and I already searched and booked another cruise, and of course, we can't invite anyone else to go with us so Carnival loses on that end. Sorry Carnival burns it's bridges.

  2. Before it gets lost among the haters, I'll type my thoughts.

I may be wrong, but I feel like Carnival is a "starter" cruise line...one for those to take a first cruise who aren't sure if a cruise is for them. A lower cost may sway them in that direction. Also, Carnival does not have all the "bells and whistles" of higher-priced cruise lines.

Others include internet access, but it was paid for in the cost of the cruise. Others may include some form of drink package, alcoholic or not, but that is included within the cruise fare. There may me some that have butler service (I don't know). Etc., etc., etc...

    As to my experiences:

I find the food, for the most part, to be quite good.

I find the cabins, though smaller than a hotel room, to be adequate and comfortable.

I find the entertainment/activities to be plentiful and fun.

I find the prices for drinks/shopping to be comparable to resort destinations.

And I find the service and attitude I have experienced from the staff and crew to be top-notch.

Again, these are my experiences. I'm sure the others will chime in with opposing views, but that's fine.

I agree with those sentiments! Always have had a great Carnival cruise!

  3. I've always used a PVP, or booked when I'm already on a cruise. That being said, I booked our next cruise when we were on our last cruise. I also did some serious research and found that Carnival's pricing when booked through a PVP was over $150 higher than the quote I got from a TA. I booked with the TA, and so far, I'm happy with that decision. I might not have gotten OBC, but I saved over $150, so that's my OBC.

  4. We always take our anniversary cruise in early October. That being said, we've never missed an island out of 7 cruises sailing usually on October 9th every year! The weather has been great and we love that time of year. You won't be disappointed!:cool:

  5. After this second trip at the Tug Boat, we moved on and headed back.

About this time...I noticed something was wrong with Sakari. She darted up to the surface and the instructor zoomed up after her.

What could have possibly went wrong? She's my fearless little diver. Oh geesh, there goes my heart again. He was at the surface and holding her.

I think she saw an eel.
