  1. I'm trying to book our My Time Dining for my family that are in 2 rooms. I add in the other reservation and check all 5 names but it is only making the reservations for the two that are on the original booking number. Is this a website glitch or does anyone have a way around it?

Also is there a way to book all of dinners at once? I didn't see an option to add a day and time. RC sure doesn't make this easy.

  2. So happy to read this post. When we were on Freedom two years ago we thought the mattress was so comfy. We were expecting the same type mattress on the Adventure this past July but the bed was rock hard. Unfortunately we didn't know you could ask for a topper so we didn't get much sleep all week. We'll be on Freedom in April and I will be sending an email to special needs as soon as we pay our final payment on the 19th. We need a comfy bed so we can get some zzzsssss.

  3. Our bed in August on the Adventure was rock hard. I didn't think to ask for an egg crate foam mattress (even though I remember having one on Freedom the year before). We're going on Freedom in April - do I need to call ahead and request one or will it already be there. If I need to call ahead does anyone have the number? Thanks!

  4. Something similar happened to us on our cruise out of San Juan in August. We had brightly colored ribbon tied to the handle to easily locate it in the terminal. After looking around, and around, and around the terminal and getting two Royal employees to help we still could not find it. So we left for the airport. They called right as we were going through security saying they had our luggage. So they met us at the airport, thank goodness.

I hope you find your luggage. It really puts a damper on the trip.

  5. Our cruise on Adventure in July had the tent outside with water, flavored water and wet towels, which were very nice when getting back from the beach or excursions. Hopefully they will add this to all of the ships.

Haven't read the whole discussion, but quickly before I forget - we were on the Majesty in August/Sept this year and they had a tent with a fee chairs and water near gangway. This was something I haven't seen before and I thought it was nice.. Now it was cucumber or lemon flavored water so it didn't work for me, lol, but you can't please everyone.
  6. Our third cruise was on Disney and Disney cruisers tend to go all out with door decorations and fish extenders (places for people to leave notes or knick knacks). Ever since I have been making one magnetic sign per door (even when it's just the hubby and I on the ship with no kids-as others have said it helps us easily find our room). I include the ship, the dates, and the stops. All of the magnets I made are now on the refrigerator out in the garage for us to remember every time we go in the fridge to grab something.

  7. Be careful when renting a car in St. Martin. We were going to rent a car, decided not to, and then while walking away we spoke to a nice gentleman who did rent a car. We talked to him later that night on the ship and he said the rental car company tried to make him pay for a part of the car that was falling off. It was clear it was from a previous accident so he would not pay for the damages that he did not do. They were pretty insistent but so was he. In the end he did not give them any extra money.

Sorry I don't know the name of the company he used.

  8. I believe this is who we rented from the last week in July. He was very friendly and explained how to drive about the island and places to stop. The ATV looked new, he explained that there are a few companies that will share license plates between two different ATVs but he doesn't do that. He worked with us on the price a little bit since we were the only ship at the pier that day. It was one of the highlights of our cruise.

We didn't do clockwise, we did counter clockwise. It was very easy to navigate and were able to do the beaches that we wanted to go to.

  9. We rented a 4wheeler right as we were leaving the port. The owner gave us a great map and outlined how to go around and places you should stop and visit. It was very easy and being able to see and do what you want on your own timetable was great!

We weren't planning on doing anything at St. Martin since we had been there a few times but it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Let me know if you would like any other details.

  10. As a newbie cruiser - where are the porters? Are they there waiting as soon as you walk off the ship? I have to get on the road as early as possible that morning and will be self disembarking early as I can. Anything that can speed up the process sounds good to me.

Just doing the self disembarking will save you tons of time as the lines will not be long at that time. We always do self disembarking except we didn't a few weeks ago in San Juan. That will be the last time doing that. They lost one of our bags (later to be found and brought to us at the airport two hours later) and after waiting 20 minutes in line (easily could have been a 2.5 hour long since they only had 4 customs people working for the 4 thousand people getting off the ship) we got a porter and made it through customs 30 minutes later. They did have their own line. Learned our lesson though.

  11. We have been to St. Thomas two time already and have just gone to Meghan's Bay each time. We're going there again in April and are trying to find a land/sea excursion. On our recent cruise we did a land/sea excursion in St. Lucia and just a sea excursion in Barbados. Both were awesome but I missed not seeing any of the island on Barbados.

Any recommendations that would give us a glimpse of St. Thomas by land and by sea?

    Thanks!

  12. I got one two cruises ago and only used it for two purchases. With those two purchases (one being paying off the remainder of a cruise) I was able to get a $150 shipboard credit on my last cruise. It was very easy going online to request the shipboard credit. I think it is definitely worth it even if you don't plan on making it your everyday card.
