I heard from my TA and she said she can't arrange an airport transfer from Mumbai to the airport on SS because I chose port to port instead of door to door. Does anyone know any private companies? I google and found one but it would not let me book from the cruise port to the airport on from the airport to the cruise port. Could that be because of the number of taxis waiting outside?
Did I miss something. What ports are you concerned about? This is our 3rd try at this vacation with 3 different cruise lines. I will give up for this year if this one doesn't sail.
I am on the cruise disembarking in Mumbai on the 23rd. I have a flight leaving BOM at 10:10 am and I'm hoping to disembark at 6:00 so that we get to the airport in plenty of time. Will there be taxis available at that time or should I pre-arrange something?
I appreciate all of your comments. I was worried that SB was going to be too formal but now it sounds like SS is even more so. I dress up for work all the time so, I like to relax in some jeans and a comfortable shirt when on vacation. I'm sure I'll make it work with sundresses but my husband has to find some lightweight dinner jackets. I know, first world problems. I do like the cabin on the SS ship better than the one I had reserved on SB. It's just a verandah but the verandah on SB wasn't as big and I didn't care for the décor as much. It looks like SS has a lot of food choices and I get the impression that both lines do food fairly well. One thing I've noticed so far is that the included excursions on SS are extensive. I just booked this cruise and was still able to find acceptable excursions even though it starts May 5th. SS had two included excursions offered on SB for $250 pp with no upcharge. Sadly, those two excursions were fully booked but I'm hoping to get something on board. I'm looking forward to trying both lines and I'm glad to hear that there isn't such a significant difference between the two. Itineraries will continue to rule the day!
I just booked an 18 SS cruise after my 34 day Seabourn cruise was cancelled. I'd like to know how the two cruise lines compare with each other from those who have traveled on both.
I called my TA and they cancelled my cruise an hour and a half ago. Not sure what that does for WC folks, but I guess they get some sort of refund. She said I can book another cruise for 10% off but I have so many tours to cancel, hotels, etc. I don't even know where else I'd like to go.
I'm scheduled on a 34 day Singapore to Athens on Sojourn May 2, 2024. They are showing only 1 cabin available, the Owner's Suite at $70,000 pp. I wonder if my cruise will be impacted. It's the last segment on the WC that started January 11, 2024.
We are on the Sojourn May 2nd for the last part of their WC that begins in January. It is supposed to transit the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. I wonder it if is likely to be cancelled or if they will choose to go around the Cape of Good Hope. We would have enough sea days with the cancelled Egyptian ports to do it. I'd be okay with that if we got to go to some interesting stops in Africa.
I wonder if they are just booked up this close to sailing. I'm on the final leg of that WC, from May 2nd to June 5th and I was able to book the Solis (they are changing it over in April) for 4 days.
I started one for the cruise after that May 2nd through June 5th and not one person joined it. That is the last leg of a World Cruise that starts in January and I wonder if most of the passengers are a part of it.
It was named as Solis for my Sojourn cruise starting May 2nd. Perhaps that is the first one it's available on? It's a last segment of the world cruise starting in January so I wonder how they plan to change it during a cruise.
When (and where) does the OBC from Seabourn and the TA show up in my account? I made final payment and was able to book the Solis restaurant for 4 days. Most of the first week was already gone, but I don't see my OBC balances. Just curious as to whether those won't show up until I'm onboard.
Okay, I found it but it was $9776 USD and I didn't see anything about air. Definitely a UK special. I'm doing a very similar cruise in May stopping at many of the same ports. That is a great price, congrats!
Thanks. I am still deciding but that's good to hear. For now I'm scheduled on the ship's tour, but the price is outrageous for what they are offering. I am doing the far more expensive Petra tour with the ship because it is only one day and I don't want to worry about getting back to the ship in time.
