I haven't gone back to cruising yet. I enjoy the dance classes . The live bands and dancing during the day and evening are great. I would miss it if they aren't doing those activities. If you have cruised recently , did they start up those activities ?

I have been going through this also.  I am very angry that Princess chose this moment in time.   I get this email on July 9 and it is due by July 20. Princess is already hard to speak to anyone and wait for hours on the phone. It has not been a pleasant day. I have left email and messages for my agent as he was on vacation. So Monday I hope to connect.

What I liked about the Princess insurance was it carried the medical insurance for evacuation.  I have seen 3 helicopter evacuations from the ship. Also when I fly E-Z air   they will get me on other flights if my flight doesn't get to the ship  and they will get me there.

If I didn't like cruising so much, I felt like cancelling all the cruises. They have made everything hard. 

Please post here if anybody gets more info   about any of the above problems.

I don't purchase the coffee package.  As an elite perk I call room service when I arrive and ask them to switch out the minibar  and have the coffee put on my account ( medallion )I sure hope that will continue.

Hi Everyone,

       On past  cruises on the reposition cruise for the sail away from the Brooklyn Terminal , we gathered on the Lido deck near  Outrigger  Bar ( I think).It is fun when you go under the Verrazanno Bridge and lookup at the underside of the bridge. You feel like you are going to hit the bridge.

I have sailed on the Sky Princess 2 times and without a  smart phone.  Just by wearing the medallion when you arrive at your room it unlocks  automatically. If I want something I walk to the venue to get it. I don't want things brought to me. I am happy to move around the ship.

If I go to the gift shop, the clerk has an  IPad  and already knows your name If I want to buy something I just   put the medallion over  something. 

So don't feel the pressure to have a smart phone if you don't want one with you.

I can't respond to this particular space but I had a room with the white space  next to me. That particular space had some kind of mechanicals or maybe computer systems.  I got vibrations from that room. I never book a room next to a blank, white space any more.

I read an article that thousands  of ship crew personnel are still stuck on ships. The cruise lines are still trying to get them home but so many ports are closed because of covid-19.   Cruise ships are anchored all over the world. The article has a map of the ships just off the coast of Manila.

 The first step is to get those people home. Then the ships have been idle and I would assume in need of its of  rehab, paint, cleaning, checking all the systems. If you are talking about Regal, Royal, Majestic, Sky, the ships are 2 football fields long and 19 decks. 

 The above 2 things will take a long time. Then they have to start assembling staff for the ships. I am not sure crew  that have  had a bad experience during this pandemic  will probably not want to go back.

 Add to  that Florida which is in a bad  covid situation which will take a long time to get out of that mess to eve open up for port openings.

I don't see how all of that can be done in 2020.

I am on the Nov 5th 10 day Sky reposition from NYC to the Carib.  I  have  not received any information about our cruise being cancelled. I have friends on this cruise and they haven't heard anything either. I will keep checking here so if you hear any updates please share it here.

I have read the Euro  plan about travel and I don't think the U.S. with all the coronavirus wants any travelers.A number of Carib. islands have strict rules.

Hi Louden,

       it will be a very quiet  July 4th.  There are no parades or big celebrations. They don't want any big gatherings. I have followed all the directions, masks, and social distancing. Except for the grocery store ( I go very early in the morning) and doctor's appointments I don't go out and about.

    We are doing very well locally and the state. I don't want to go back to square one.  While we can social distance and wear a mask to visit with someone,  I am not going to take any chances.  I talk to my friends on the phone or email.

     I  used to go to the Y every day  for classes. Now I have my favorite classes on You Tube that I exercise with a few hours every day.

     May the second half of 2020 will be better than the first half.

I am also on the Sky Princess Nov 5th. After being on the b2b Inaugurals  of the Sky in the US I was looking forward to this cruise.  Having been on the reposition cruise to the Carib before, I looked forward  to reuniting with a wonderful group of cruisers.     I have been talking  to my cruising friends about this trip. While we still  hold our reservations , we are doubtful we will be on that cruise.   The final payment is due the beginning of August and I am not willing to make that payment if I don't feel safe about the  travel.  Needless to say, the idea of flying is not thrilling to me.

Timothy is the same way in person. He was at Passenger Services when I was on the Regal a few times. Also, very efficient and fun to chat with.
