Thanks everyone for all your advice we booked D220 with the Plus package ...though our confirmation invoice does not show the free casual dining meals (Alfredo/ Vines) ...as mentioned in one of the posts .
Didn't want to drive ..........so taking the train . Unable to take a fly cruise as op on eye makes flying a no-go ..until September then it's NCL Greek Islands .
Thanks everyone for your informative replies . It's our first time with Princess - on past cruises we have seen full military dress and kilts .
Sandancer ... good point about taking a no fly cruise though we are taking a P&O cruise later this year and our Jet 2 allowance is 22kg plus 10kg cabin allowance .
Bit of a change from the Tyne Ferry !!!
We are first time cruisers with Princess . On the Regal are there set formal nights and are men required to wear a suit /tie ?
We are sailing the British Isles .
thanks
Thanks ever so much for all the info .Don't like the bathroom setup but it must not bother most people as the cruise is a sell out !!
We are also looking at the Viva ...on there there is so much choice on decks 12,13,15 and 16 .
thanks,
Having a long think about travel .
The cruise leaves Southampton we live in the North UK (think Romans and Hadrian) It's a long drive ...bus takes about10 hours .
Can't book a train as the constant strikes over the last 2 years make rail travel risky .
We will probably look at a fly - cruise .
Thanks for all your input .
Happy sailing
Now that's a question !!!
Never sailed Princess but on other ships we prefer deck 10 midships .
Always between accommodation decks .
Family cabin though there's just the two of us . Like to upgrade to Superior cabin for more room and a bigger balcony .
Looking at photos of Standard Balcony cabins the Princess the balconies are very small .
Happy cruising !!
We are considering Regal princess but the only cabin available for our preferred sailing is D220 .
Would have preferred midships ...also the drinks package plus benefits is expensive for us moderate drinkers .
How are the gratuities paid for this category of cabin , and how much per person per day .....thanks
Thanks,
I did a mock booking for a SV and the allocated cabin was at the aft ...very similar to the photo.
Fabulous views but I guess (or us) too much motion.
We prefer midships ..so it's back to looking again with a different ship. .
Great to have such informative replies .
