  1. We had an ocean suite on Dream - and honestly wouldn't book one again. There was a group that used the hot tub daily - for long periods of time - with music blaring. I'm pretty tolerant of all types of music - but this just wasn't my type of music - at all - and it was loud loud loud. Did it ruin the cruise? Heck no. You'd have to work really really really hard to ruin a cruise for me....lol....but it was the push we needed to try NCL. Now - we've decided that if we are cruising in a suite it'll be NCL - and if we are cruising Carnival it'll be aft.

We loved sailing out of New Orleans!! Enjoy your cruise - no matter what - I'm sure it'll be great!!

  2. It looks like we may all be on the same cruise in June 2018. We just booked this week and there were only a couple of Duplex suites left. YC was completely sold out. We booked the Duplex suite for the extra space and 2 bathrooms, we're traveling with two of our daughters who will be 15 and 17. I'll keep checking for something opening up in YC as we get closer to final payment.

It sounds like we are all on the same one. I have the June 24th, 2018 booked. (As well as still having the one on NCL booked (which is a 15 day vs 12 day) because I'm just trying to make sure I want to make the change. We have a 2 bedroom suite booked on NCL so we'd have more room, and the butler - however the cost is almost double.) This would be our first time on MSC - so I'm still just a bit hesitant.

  3. We also have a duplex suite June 2018 Iceland 2 adults and 2 kids 12 and 15 definitely wanted the extra room having previously sailed in the haven on NCL and Divina upcoming in executive suite.. YC already sold out summer 2018

I just booked this cruise for myself and two boys (they'll be 16 and 20 then) and we did a suite with large balcony because all of the duplex suites were sold out as well as the YC.

I've still got a similar cruise booked on NCL. So now we just need to decide which one to take. Hopefully one of the duplex suites or something in the YC opens up.

  4. We rented a small cabana (myself and 2 teen sons) over Thanksgiving week, on the Epic, and in all honesty I don't think I'd get one on GSC again. I did not feel that it was worth the cost.

We did not have waiter service - and the food provided with the $50 credit really was not worth it. (Plus they brought it an hour after our requested time.) Drinks are included however the line at the bar was very long - and for the first 1 1/2 hours they didn't have any ice to make frozen drinks.

Now - the beach areas did get super busy - so it was good to have our own space - just not nice enough to justify our cost.

  5. I do have to agree that the elevator situation is awful - or at least on the Thanksgiving cruise it was. And, of those 16 elevators only 4 go to the Haven area.

Stairs for a couple flights - ok. But for 11 flights - or more when coming back from a port - no thank you.

  6. What did you think of the forward 2bedroom? What deck were you on? Was there an open balcony or closed? Thank you

I'm not the person you are asking however over Thanksgiving we were in 16001. The balcony is enclosed - with 2 windows that slide open. We absolutely loved that suite. It is wider than most of the other 2 bedrooms and the balcony is also bigger.

We would definitely book that cabin again.

One warning - on two ports days - after we had come back. There was a crew member on a mechanical device hanging out in front of the balcony window and bathroom windows. He was doing some type of maintenance, facing towards the sea, but I'm not sure if he could see in the windows or not. But to be safe I'd be sure and pull the curtains in the shower and tub area.

  7. We haven't had dinner served in suite however we do have breakfast served in our suite quite often. We like to do this on port days (when we have an excursion) and then on our last day.

Our next cruise is on Carnival and I think having a wonderful, hot breakfast, delivered on those mornings will be one of the things that we miss the most.

  8. For our recent Epic cruise we used Sunshine Limousine.

We flew into MCO, spent the night at the airport Homewood Suites (used their free shuttle - the hotel and shuttle was great) and then used Sunshine to go from the Homewood Suites to the port. Then had them take us from the port to our Universal Studios hotel, and then from that hotel to the airport.

All 3 trips had excellent drivers, clean and well maintained SUV, and they were on time with great communication.

If we cruise out of Port Canaveral again we will definitely use them.

Their communication ahead of time was great and I reserved them in July and they did not run the charges through until 48 hours prior to each pick up.

  9. Xkritter,

How was your Embarkation? Hope it was better than the week before you.

Thanks....I will be on Epic next week.

Ours went fairly smooth. We waited in traffic for the drop off lane for about 30 minutes but then went well. We are in the Haven though so we checked in...had just sat down and then Haven was escorted on at about 11:45 I think. I think there were some delays for other check in groups.
