  1.

When we asked them about the food their reply was that it was rubbish especially in the MDR which was quite a surprise, has food on Princess sunk that low ?

    .

The only problem we had with the food was one night in the MDR my GF's lamb was hard to cut and eat. They sent her another order, she wasn't able to eat it. Other than that, we had no problems with the food. We aren't picky eaters.

  2. Hello,

Just curious have never sailed on MSC before. I will set sail on December 7, 2013 MSC Divina. I have read many reviews, some good some bad. I'm just ready to experience the cruise line itself. Any fellow cruisers going on this sail date? Why is there no meet and mingle for the MSC Divina? Let's get one started!!!:)

We are also on this sailing. Why haven't you joined our group in the MSC roll call area???

  3. Tim ... Nothing is colouring my posts, what is the point in telling people that everything in the garden is rosy, what happened to honesty ? nowhere have i said this was a bad cruise or a bad ship, yes it has its problems and probably more than it should have done. For me Divina is not as nice internally as the other two ships we have sailed on but that does not mean others will not like it or that i and others should not share our thoughts or views on it.

KevSue ... I am sure you will enjoy being on the Divina and as they say there is never a bad cruise but some are more memorable than others for various reasons, i see no point in telling people that the ship is wonderful and everything within it as some would have it. It is worth knowing the Good points as well as the issues that have arisen and i am sure there will be more along the way as more North American cruisers try out this ship.

More important will be the reviews form the first few weeks sailings which will be totally different from those of the transatlantic sailing especially because that was made up of Nationalities that outnumbered the English speaking ones who will more than likely not make a post reviews on CC.

Remember that MSC is only 12 years old compared to the likes of Royal and Carnival and it may well take the two years the ship will be in Miami to iron out the issues that people will no doubt highlight along the way.

Thank you for your honest reviews. Don't let others discourage you from stating your views. We will be on the Divina on 12-7, nothing that anyone says negative will stop us from cruising on her. We will have our own opinions, which I will not be afraid to post. This will be our first time on MSC and my 22 cruise.

We were just on the Royal Princess ship that all of the Princess cheerleaders were raving about. In my opinion, I didn't care for it.

  4. A little off today's port stop topic, but germane to your itinerary. We realized, right around this day of our cruise last year, that we were glad to have chosen the east-to-west (FLL to San Diego) route. We picked up three extra hours of cruising (sleep) over the course of this second half of the trip! The same three hours are lost, in time zone changes, going the opposite way.

    Enjoy your day.

That is a great point, I will keep this in mind when ever I book the PC cruise.

  5. With the new drink packages that just came out on the 15'th everyone in the stateroom does NOT need to purchase the drink package. Still no sharing.

More changes, I just got off of the Majesty 10-29 and go on the Legend 12-12. I had seen a few threads about this on the main RCL board but didn't pay attention to them. On my 11 day cruise I can get the beer package for $40.00 per day saving me money from buying the $55.00 package per day. Thanks.

  6. You don't buy the drinks with cash. All of your drinks will go on the seapass account. You are given a room card which also serves as your credit card for all purchases on board. At the end of the cruise you get a list of charges that were added to your credit card. To have a drink package work, you will need to drink 6 or more drinks everyday. If you get a drink package, all adults in your stateroom need to buy a package, no sharing.

  7. I finally made a choice on a hotel. We had reservations at the Embassey Suites on 17th in Fort Lauderdale. we have stayed here before and it is beautiful. I wanted something a little different, a little more character. I canceled our room for 11/15/13 last night, we are sailing on the Crown sat. I made reservations at the Walkabout Hotel on Hollywood beach. It only has 8 rooms and a Tiki bar facing the ocean. the rooms walk right out on the Boardwalk. Yes the cab fare will be higher , but after this 25 degree weather in ohio I don't care. I will write a review on Tripadvisor when we get home,

When you are on a walkabout on the boardwalk, check out the Riptide Hotel. This is the place that we stay at pre and post cruise. It also is on the boardwalk, with a Tiki Bar. The also have live music every day and serve food.
