  1. I agree, that you can do the east coast, and at, for instance, Paynes Bay do some Swimming. But in your original Post, you wanted to do Bottom Bay and Animal Flower Cave. You have cut down your preferences quite a bit. I still am of the opinion, that the original sites together with Swimming with the turtles is not doable.

  2. Dearest TMW67, look at a map please. You are talking about two different Ends of Barbados. I would say, that your plans are near to impossible for a one day visit. Bottom Bay is not to be combined with Turtle snorkeling. Turtle snorkeling in Holetown, and then maybe up to North Point MIGHT be ok, but even Barbados has traffic jams and you might run the risk of missing your ship.

  3. "better" is subjective. Both are great. The Kat-Crews communicate with each other so that there are nota hundred People at one snorkel-spot. The Entertainment with Silvermoon and Calabaza will be about the same. A Little Reggae musik from the pa. Nothing loud. Both take only 12 persons. Food with both of them great - Bajan/International. Drinks - everything from Alcohol to non-alcohol to Juices. No Problem. Both have swim-help - noodles, wests - no Problem. Both Crews are helpful with non-swimmers and swimmers alike.

  4. At the Terminal Exit, diagonal to the right.....Buses to different Beaches with facilities. No Problem to get back to the ship. These are Little Vans (White). Their Business is to get you to the beach for a nice day, and then back to the ship.

    Enjoyy!!! P.s. I love Norway!!!

  5. Hei Arne,

Yes, Barbados and the caribbean Islands are very religious. Even though they love the tourists, they have more a duty to God. This you will find all over in the caribbean. I would advise you to take a catamaran tour. Or go to a nice beach (The Boatyard). At the Duty Free Shops you may taste the rum before you buy, most of the time. Maybe, as OCruisers says, your Ship will have made Special Arrangements for Tours with Mount Gay or Apegey Chocolates.

  6. Glad to help. It is your first time to Barbados, and just one day. I know, everyone says," who knows if I will ever come back." But unfortunately, you can't see or do everything. And Barbados is very laid back. I am still thankful to God for that. From the Cruise Terminal you can get a taxi (diagonally to the right, when you leave the Terminal). Tell the Concierge what you would like to do. OK, they do suggest fixed tours. But say you want 1/2 day or something like that. How Long are you in port??? That is a very important factor.

    Enjoy!!!

  7. Hi Glyn! First of all, as a Barbadian I can say, that you are filling too much into your day. If you are on a cruise and only on the Island for one day, you will not, I repeat Not be able to do These things in one day and also not with the Transport System on Barbados. Yes there is a bus Station near the terminal (10 - 15 minutes walk) but they do not have a real schedule (even though printed) like in the US or UK. The roads are much worse, also. I would advise you to take a taxi to St. Nicholas Abbey and on the way visit the sights that your Driver Shows you. Later you can go to a beach (the Boatyard is "near" the cruise terminal).

Yes there are busses going to Speightstown. But Mullins would be better due to Restaurants and such. In and above Speightstown, there are no Beaches with facilities. If you want to go to Speightstown - the go to Jumas Restaurant. There you can use the Lounges when you eat and drink at the Restaurant.

No good busses for you to Nicholas Abbey
