  1. FYI....Last week I went online to purchase our Drink Packages for an October Harmony trip. I received an error message while processing, so I had to call to order. I had $100 OBC available that I could have used, but when talking with the rep, he told me that if I canceled the drink packages, I would be refunded the out of pocket money to purchase, but I would not get back the OBC. I asked him multiple times to clarify in the event I did not understand him. I ultimately purchased without using the OBC, in the event the price drops. I was a bit surprised that I would not have been credited the OBC.

I was told the same, doesn't make sense.

  2. I agree it's too expensive and if you want dry aged steak at Chops for example, you have to pay even more. So that plus what you already pay plus the fact that meals are included in the MDR it is a little steep. I realize it's inline with what you'd pay on land but on land, you don't have the option of free food in a MDR. If they made it more reasonable, they'd have a lot more interest for sure.

  3. Interesting. Thanks for your feedback. For the record I didn't distrust them or think they were for 'lesser' classes. I didn't consider myself to be in a different class than any other customer on the ship.

Hey Tina, I was curious too. Oftentimes there are people at the airport with handheld devices helping people too, you'd be amazed at how many people get in line at the gate who don't need to be so I assume the same is true with guest services, maybe they can save some people the wait?

As for the locks, I wouldn't call them fake, they make for a double lock. I would think with the instances of people having medical emergencies and those who like to throw each other off the balconies, they need to be able to access the room. I always wonder about those swing bar locks in hotels and how they get in when there's an emergency. But I get what you are saying, it would be nice if the extra lock could only be opened by security .

  4. I'm pretty sure there is a pool, a rock wall, putt putt, a basketball court, a movie theatre, a massive poolside theatre, a video arcade and kids clubs/activities. Yeah, you're right. I should pick a different cruise. There is NOTHING for kids/teens here. Insert eye roll.

Btw, I came here for help, and only received it from 2 people . The reat of the remarks are snarky and useless. I asked questions about ice cream and pizza and got opinions from snarky jerks. Thanks for you opinion, but I'm not interested it.

It's amazing isn't it? And godforbid that you ask a question that someone answered in August of 2008 and you didn't search for it. Personally, I come here to see if there's any new info but the Facebook groups are much kinder. I don't know why people feel a need to be so sarcastic and mean.

  5. We really enjoy the dining room, including dining with other guests but we normally will do one specialty since we often cruise around our anniversary but I have to be honest, whenever we do specialty dining, we hurt ourselves from eating too much! We've never done Chops though and booked it for our anniversary this year and are looking forward to hurting ourselves :) We also did FNDR just for kicks, the rest of the time we'll be in the MDR. We don't prefer the MDR because of money, vacation money doesn't count! We'll spend more than we should on vacation and be frugal the rest of the year :)

  6. Another vote for Savala Island oolala cruises. Had a fab day with them. The water was beautiful and there was lots to do. Ours was a ship tour thru Royal Caribbean. Doubt you would be able to book privately when there is already a ship tour running. Our cruise ship had booked out both oolala cruise boats for the day.

Hi, can you give me more details about this? The Royal site says it's strenuous and has lots of warning, why? Says not to select if you have mobility issues but it doesn't say what the issues are. Thanks!

  7. Hello, we will be going on our first cruise this weekend...just a 4 day to Nassau, Cococay, and Key West, just to see how we like it! My husband and 2 young adult children will be with me. We are wondering how much cash people recommend bringing? Also, if we try to bring our own bottled water would this be better to put in a carry on bag or a checked bag onto the ship? Has anyone used Book a Tour Caribbean for a day pass in Nassau to the Breezes? or Resort for a Day? I recently read where someone had a long wait/tickets to get off the ship for a tender so I didn't know if that was an issue for Cococay? We hope to enjoy as much of the day in the ports/beaches as possible. Suggestions for best snorkeling between the 3 ports? Also, any need for water shoes due to rocky beaches or are they pretty smooth?

Have a great time! Key West is incredible, we stopped there and weren't that thrilled with the idea since it was a US port but we had a great time. We went to the Hemmingway house and say the 6-toed cats then wandered around bar hopping. Quaint place. I haven't been to cococay but been to other private islands for other lines and it's always a good time. Nassau I can take or leave. I don't think you need water shoes. As for the bottled water, bring one and refill and if you have to purchase some, it shouldn't break the bank. Our first cruise was almost 20 years ago and my husband wasn't thrilled with the idea of cruising. We'll be taking our 20th for our 20th anniversary in the fall!

  8. We did it on the Rhapsody and were disappointed compared to the one we did on Princess. The Princess one included a tour and a lot more fancy stuff, sculptures made from sugar, etc. The food was good but it was just a really long dinner. Just our experience and maybe if the tablemates and the chef were more interesting, that would have helped.

  9. But how long did it take to accumulate those 100,000 gold coins? I downloaded the game and messed around with it a bit, and it looks like it would take hundreds of hours to get that many coins!

I have it set to autospin while I am watching TV or whatever and it just runs, myvegas and my Konami, can't do that with popslots. Anyway I have 1.3 million and I burned some in Vegas. What I don't understand for Royal tho is it says "Reward must be redeemed within 30 days of purchase" then under Redemption Instructions it says "Cruise reward must be redeemed within 14 days" We are planning on booking our next cruise or two onboard in October but the cruises will be for next summer and next fall. I guess I'll see what the future cruise consultant says. 100,000 credits for $250 OBC is a sweet deal.

  10. I really don't think you should base your decision on other people's answer to this. You should study your own insurance coverage carefully to determine what's covered and what's not. I would guess that many people that buy travel insurance buy too much coverage because their existing insurance covers some of the things they are paying additional for with the travel insurance.

Exactly and our Citibank card has excellent coverage, including medivac. So check that too.
