Yeah that’s how it used to be. This 1 pg show and 1 adult show per day stuff is a huge drop off over what it used to be. At least on Mardi Gras they’re doing the late night showcase. Here comedy is totally done at 10:15 every night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that on any ship.Yes, that is really early to end comedy (especially on sea days).

Some repeats. What they’ve been doing is that 3:30 pg show I’ve been going to repeats at 7:45. Thats why it’s so packed at 3:30 because if you get that one in, you’re free until the 8:45 comedy show. On nights where the 8:45 show and 9:45 show are the same person, it’s a repeat.
Last night it was Arvin Mitchell at 8:45 repeating at 9:45 so I just went to the first one. Tonight it was Will Manfori and Merle Hobbs so two different shows.
Tomorrow night Merle Hobbs is doing both of the “late” shows so I expect repeats and I’ll just go to one. Most days are one 1 pg show with a repeat and 1 adult show with a repeat. Today was one of those few days where we’ve had 3 different shows.
Thanks. That is too bad. It used to be that the comedians said the next show was not a repeat so we would see 4 or more different shows a night. I noticed the repeats started on the Mardi Gras and continued on the Celebration. I was hoping there would be no repeats on the Venezia.

Are the comedians repeating their shows or are they doing different ones each time they are on?

If you have time, would you please take some pictures of the traditional-time dining room (I think it is called Marco Polo)?

Thanks for the review! Were there shows/comedy shows onboard?

No, I don't know that. Are you sure, and thanks for posting this! I thought our advantage was the 2-day early opportunity to choose a time, not that we can just belly up and get what we want.
You can double check with John Heald when he returns to work tomorrow. I remember he mentioned that even though we still had to pick a time it really didn't matter for Plat/Diam. You can go when you want.
I was able to find that some people couldn't pick a time and he said "I am hoping you will no longer need a check in time but regardless if you have one or not please just go straight to the priority boarding line when you arrive and don’t worry about anything".
We recently arrived early (before 10 AM) for our Celebration cruise. We were able to walk right in and the Plat/Diam. seating area was already very crowded.I would think it would be the same in Europe.

Not sure why, but I didn't get the Plat/Diam email reminder from Carnival 16 days ahead of time so I just logged in 13 days prior to embarkation and earliest available was 12 noon. Next they'll have me rowing with steerage if I don't stay more alert, I signed up for text messages.
You know as a Plat/Diam you can go anytime you want. You don't have to wait until noon.

Super sunny here today in Central Ohio. Can almost pretend to be in Florida!!! Understand things down south have been doing well. Right?
Below are a couple of my wildlife visuals just captured this afternoon from our second-floor window. The fox was very, very relaxed and casual to able to be enjoying the sun and wooded surroundings. Not sure what type of bird is shown below. Any bird experts know?
THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

You can “follow” without notifications - it will give you that option - if you click “follow” you will push Sid’s # to 224. (I didn’t know about “following” until Sid suggested it in a Post on SaintGreg’s last cruise.) It doesn’t cost anything, fun thing to do, encourages the Author who takes all of us along with him on his cruise.
I didn't know about following either until I read about it here and on Saint Gregs thread. I did just follow.

When you post in a thread you automatically follow (but you can unfollow). Following gives you notifications on new posts in the thread and when you click on the notification takes you to the new posts (though you can also have it not notify you).
Look at the top to the right of the thread title. If you see a check mark next to "Follow" you are following. Click on that and you can adjust things like notifications.
Thanks for the information. I guess I'm not following. I don't have a check mark. I don't really need to get notifications. I just start reading where I left off the night before.

What is the reason/advantage of following? I just start looking at threads where I left off the previous night and then read any threads that interest me.

Maybe you had a picture before?

Yes, I was on that ship too. They had just announced that we had passed the point of no return on the sailing. He jumped and was thrown the life ring buoy.
It took a while for the ship to stop and turn back but he was easily found with the tracker on the life buoy.
Hi Mary. Did you change your profile name? I'm thinking we were at the same table for dinner.

Someone posted on here a year or two ago that they had a jumper on a cruise ship they were on once. Multiple people saw him jump. Ship stopped, put in a lifeboat, and they pulled him out of the water...and he was ok. For some reason, I thought that it was a cruise to Hawaii, but I could be wrong.
We were on that cruise. It was a 15 day from San Diego to Hawaii in 2012. He jumped around 1 PM from the Lido, so many people saw him. They took him to the hospital at our first HI port. I don't know how injured he was.
