In my experience, these lonely Deck 3's see very little use.

Very few people ever out there. No noise from chair scraping.

    However, I have had

occasional thump thump of runners overhead, up and down Deck 3

overhead of my Ocean View cabin on Deck 2!

but it's minor, and annoying only if at night.

Thanks so much. I wonder why they would run up and down this deck instead of on the track?  I remember back in the early 2000s laying out in lounge chairs on this deck. That was back in the day, before any of the bells and whistles were on the ships like now.  I’m thinking since there areso many lounging areas like Serenity deck, etc. This deck 3 is probably pretty lonely after the initial boarding day.

Oh wow! I had no idea! I regularly recommend ginger pills to fellow cruisers! I'll be sure to mention this as well...

Same here! I’ll bet most of us don’t know about ginger being a natural blood thinner. I have been on Coumadin for over 30 years, and I just found out about 4 years ago. I was so disappointed because it works so well, with no drowsy feeling. I literally had to google it to make sure. I’m just grateful that I had the sense to stop. Most people have nothing to worry about. It works wonders on normal blood. If there may be just 1 person on Thinners, this warning is for them.

  3. Please consult with your doctor before taking ginger pills if you are on Blood Thinners, mainly Coumadin. I have an artificial Aortic Valve, so I can’t take Plavix. I almost landed in the hospital because Ginger is a natural blood thinner. I was taking the ginger pills on a cruise. They worked so well, and I was very happy. I started having unusual side effects and large bruises. I immediately stopped taking the ginger, because that was the only different meds I was taking. When I got home, I went to the doctor, who read me the riot act. My blood INR level was so high, my blood was so thin that there was risk of internal bleeding. Please, please be careful. I thought I was safe because this is a natural product.

  4. Im not sure if this will work on this site, but I saw it on YouTube. I wish the prompt would allow me a preview before I post it, but it will not. I saw another picture somewhere of 9201 on the Breeze with the same 2 chairs as this Dream video. But maybe the Breeze was updated since then.

That's my photo! I was in balcony cabin 7365 on the 10/8 thru 10/13 cruise. There's also two more USB ports on the desk/dresser by the cabin phone as well as an electrical outlet with two plugs instead of one. The only info anyone is getting is the info that guests are sharing as they cruise. Carnival is actually still denying any renovations are happening on the ship until the drydock next year even though plenty of people are posting photos and anecdotal evidence that shows otherwise.

Thank You so much for sharing the info. It is so appreciated, because I knew Carnival was holding off letting people know about it. I saw a vlog from someone on the 6th deck. I could hear all the construction, but had not actually seen any reviews from anyone who actually could confirm it. When I saw the picture on a group I am in, I screamed aloud because I was so happy to see the proof in the pudding. I thank you an de trvlglrlmq for proving the rumors were true. I did not know where the original pictures came from, but I really thank you so much for posting them for us to see. Could you please tell me what that smaller box under the desk beside the fridge is for?

I was on the Oct 8 sailing and we had a renovated room on Deck 7.  They had completed the whole deck and had started on 8.  Very noisy! Everything was new and all the colors were that of Vista/Horizon.  They installed the fridge on our sailing.  I walked on the other decks and the renovation is a total improvement.  It went from dark and dreary to light and bright.  I believe all cabins will probably be done before they sail for dry dock.  I think someone said they take 20 rooms out at a time and it takes 40 days (or it's the opposite can't quite remember!).

Thank You so much for this information! I was so happy to hear this. I do feel so bad for the people who paid their fares to have to hear this noise on their cruises.

  7. A cruiser already on the Triumph had one of the newly renovated cabins on deck 7, and a USB outlet is between the beds! Also had a mini fridge and the new colors and fixtures like the Horizon.. I wonder if all of the existing cabins from deck 1 to the top will have these renovations done by the time she sails as the Sunrise? Are these changes going to be just select suites and new cabins? I know it will be a while before it goes in for total renovations, but they have already started while people are cruising. Has anyone gotten any solid info on the cabins other than the new ones? Thanks.

  8. I attached cattle prods on the front, and back. Anyone gets too close, they get zapped.

Honestly, people will not pay attention, and there is nothing you can do about it. Don't worry about it, and enjoy your vacation.

Lol. I did just fine. I kept a smile on my face, and everyone was really helpful. I always sincerely thanked them for their kindness. Believe it or not, I had lots of teens and young people offering to help me. I was pleased with the help.

  9. Hi Lyn. I am loving your review, and can not wait for more of your review and pictures. I just came from an 8 day Solo on the Horizon on 9/5. I also had a 4J cabin on the 9th deck with the secret deck. :) I have so much fun on my solo cruises. You look beautiful, and it is obvious that you work out still. Did you go to the gym on the ship? If so, how is it on the Sunshine? I cruised on that ship as the Sunshine, as well as when it was the Destiny back in the day. Great ship, but i missed the gym on the 3 cruises on it. Shame on me. :)

  10. Thank you all for your wonderful advice. Things I did to make it easier:

My cabin was all the way forward on Carnival Horizon, which is a huge ship. My dining room was aft on deck 4. I rode my scooter all the way to the back elevator while on deck 9. That elevator was the least busy. I would then go down to deck 4, back out slowly, and head to dinner. People were very nice holding doors to the elevator so I could back up. Everything worked out great. Thank you all.

  11. I decided to do a full video of this cabin 9202. It is not meant for a scooter, but a regular sized one will fit. This cabin must be booked thru the Special Needs Dept. You must have enough mobility to step up into the bathroom. I was injured, and searched YouTube for videos showing scooter accessible cabins that were not fully accessible. I did not need to take a full cabin away from someone else in need. So check out my cabin below.

  12. Yes, I took a screenshot from the video that this reporter filmed live. You can see people in the middle of the street with water up to their thighs. If someone tells me how to post the picture, I will be happy to show it. There were high and low places the closer they got to the ship. The news people may have gotten there late, but the video was live earlier.
This area is where I saw it get high. Screenshot_20180903-184558_Gallery.thumb.jpg.5d14def62a7757537a785589d2d206e7.jpg

  13. Pictures I saw showed people walking in water just above their ankles.....about 10" deep. Nowhere near thigh high. Your video might show something different.

  14. Has anyone seen the passengers wading through thigh high water to get to the ship in Galveston today? Apparently a bus had to drop the 20+ passengers off because it could not get through the water. Everyone is carrying luggage on their heads, etc. I had a link of the live video shot by a local news reporter, but it was to my Facebook page, so I don’t think it will work here.

  15. i am renting a scooter for next Wed. I am cruising solo, and there will be no one with me to shield people from tripping over my chair. I plan to go slow naturally, but my fear is that someone will walk into the chair. I will be saying hello to people, which should alert them that I am there, but is there something I should know to help me keep everyone safe? I had a recent injury and can not walk any distance on my leg just yet. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  16. They are various things that can cause this too happen:

    1) To pull into the pier requires the ship to make a sharp 90 degree right turn, to successful make this turn the ship has to make a wide turn similar to how 18 wheel trucks make turns. if the captain did not setup the ship for this turn correctly, this can happen

    2) the current in the rivers can cause issues with navigation and turning

    3) there is a possibility that a azipod propulsion could be an issue with the ship not turning that good.

NYC is my homeport and i always sail out of this terminal. I seen more then a dozen close calls with ships trying to pull into this terminal.

Thank You so much for explaining possibilities so well. I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
