When we get a gift we know we won't use, such as the headphones, we find a kid on the ship to give them to. they love it!! Why leave it in the room? Pass it on!
Pat
Great answer. I wouldn’t think that any of the staff would be allowed to keep them. Make a young person happy if you dont want the gift.

John just posted that it is going to be a beach bag starting next week.

There is a YouTube video of a secret deck on 14 forward in front of the spa that has access from two doorways and seems to be in a somewhat enclosed area with seating. On my phone now so I can't provide you with the direct link, but a simple Google search should provide it.
Thank You so much. I saw that one, but that deck does not go all the way across the entire front of the ship. I’m thinking it’s not wide enough in front of the cabins to safely walk on that entire deck. I do like the furniture out there.
Â
On deck 9 it is a wide deck. Since it is above the bridge it also extends further out to the sides, just as the bridge does. You’re able to walk from one side to the other.

The good news is that there were lounge chairs. The bad news is that they were tied up. It was very windy...too windy for me to sit out there. Other people did....but I didn't see anyone utilizing the lounge chairs. I did see one woman sitting on a regular chair; I guess she brought it from somewhere (there were no regular chairs there when we boarded).
Thank You. I saw a video of my cabin, and there were lounge chairs stacked beside the window. I wondered if the wind could blow them overboard. I hope I do get to sit out there at least once.
-
Thank You for your review. Did you utilize the front outside secret deck? I’m looking for pictures or videos of the deck outside of the windows. Im going to be on deck 9, and it looks like they now have lounge chairs out there instead of just that wooden bench. Can you please confirm if this is true? Thank You.

Here is a video of a 6T cabin on the Spa deck.

Â
Here is a walk around video of the outside deck on the Spa floor. It’s very pretty. No one can walk in front of your cabin window, because it looks like the deck is blocked off to foot traffic in front of the cabins on this floor.

Here is a video I found of a 4J one deck below you. I would also take the 4J on deck 7.

I love this link. The poster has over 50 short and the point videos of different cabins on the Horizon. He is an employee, and he videos in between cruises. I asked him if he could film my cabin, and he did! The link will take you to his “home” page. I like to click on “videos” to see the entire list. If your cabin is not here, there will be some in your category. Great cabin info here.

I have another which should be a better size ratio as a screen saver, will try and post it before we sail.
Thanks! If you are cruising now, I hope you are having a great time. I was able to save it to my Note 8 phone, with the big screen. The beautiful colors look so pretty that I made my home page a blank page with no icons, just so I can look at it. Thank You again.
PS...You should send your picture to the Carnival office, or to John Heald. They need to see it.

Thank You so much! I am in 7th heaven seeing them! They are perfectly taped, nice and slow, with no jerky movements to hurt the eyes. I am a happy camper right about now. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I just want to be sure I understand...
If I book solo - I understand I pay double occupancy and MY fees etc. If I need to add someone later (say, 2 weeks before sailing) they just pay their fees?
Â
I thought they'd reevaluate what the cabin was going for at that point in time and that person would need to pay the difference plus their fees...
Â
If this is the case, there's no reason to book TBA, right?
Â
I just want to have the option to add someone if I want...
Â
Thanks again

You are right. They have never changed the price of my cruise after I paid it off. If you are ever told that, ask for a manager. Because of work obligations, some people will be on call and not able to cruise until the last minute. This is why I can’t book him in advance. But more important, be sure to watch to make sure the ship does not sell out. You can call and find out if many cabins are still available.
-
Another thing to remember some sailings become very popular and suddenly the ship may reach max passenger even though you still have room in your cabin.
I check online daily to check for price drops, and call weekly check availability when it gets close to sail date. I know there are over 400 cabins still open as of this morning for my Sept. sailing. However, not everyone knows this, and could miss that their ship is full or getting full. Great info to add when booking solo, to watch for availability if you go that route! Thanks for the reminder!
-
I do this too, its actually port fees and taxes (and gratuities if you prepay), but since Early Saver name changes are so restrictive, I always just book as a solo and wait as long as I can. For me, its usually a month or so, but that's my choice. I think the actual rule is 72 hours before sailing, but I may be mistaken on that!
When my DH is not able to go, I will take my daughter or cousin. The only thing I tell them to take care of is their port fee and taxes, Insurance, and their own tips. I think that’s a pretty good deal for them. :D
OP...consider this before booking TBA.

This picture is breathtaking. May I have your permission to save it for a screensaver? I am cruising on her from NY in Sept. I would love to see this on my screen daily. Please and Thank You if you give the OK.

I always book solo when I find a good sale. Since I have to pay for two, everything is included except one port charge. I always add the person no later than 3 weeks before the cruise. The only thing left to pay is that person’s port charges. Nothing else changes, because the cruise is already paid for by the time I add them. I never add anyone until it’s paid off. I’ve done this for about 10 cruises. If noone goes, I’m all good for a solo cruise.

Used it on the TA voyage and it worked great, when you are ready you open the app and let them know, and by the time you get to the Dining Room, the app has your table number.
Â
YEAH!! That’s what I was hoping to hear! Thank You so much! :) :D :)

Good idea saying use bathroom and get dressed. Would have been HOT losing AC!!
Â
Must have been interesting since you are apparently a firefighter...
Â
I agree with this post.
Since you are most likely a fire fighter, firfightergreg, I’m sure this is why you didn’t panic. I would have been freaking out! The last thing I would have thought about was to use the bathroom, but what a practical necessary thing to do.
I wonder where that smoke smell was coming from?

My understanding was that it was starting only on the Horizon. I’m not sure if they have added it yet to other ships. I saw a post here back in April about it being implemented, but I haven’t seen anything from anyone who used it. That’s why I posted this thread. Inquiring minds need to know. :D

Hi. Has anyone used the Hub App to reserve their table for nightly dinner reservations at YTD? On John Heald’s video, he said the the Horizon would be implementing this. Apparently you choose the time on your app, and they will send it to your phone when your table is ready. So, no going to the 5th floor first to check in. It wasn’t ready on the first voyage, I don’t think. I’m wanting to know how well it is working. Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the heads-up, shoppingfever! I just brought some for my final payment and onboard spending.
I was going to purchase Cruise Cash with some of them, so that I can avoid the lines at Guest Services. However, I just read that they can only be used for the sailing I assign them to. My fear is if something happens and I can’t go on this trip, I just don’t know what would happen to my money. I’m just not sure until I hear from people if they were allowed to transfer them.
-
Thank You for this fun review. I had a ball on the Vista also. Matt is a nut, and such a fun CD. I’m cruising next out of NY, and I was hoping he would be moved to the Horizon. I will keep my eyes out for more reviews from you. This was well written, and easy to read. I hated to see it end.

I loved that cabin. Below in my signature you will see pictures of the Valor 9201. The Sunshine had a window in the far corners that the Valor had covered. It was so much fun to see everything! Expand my signature to see them.

In case anyone wants to wash a load, or iron an item or 2, here are the locations of the launderettes. There is 1 iron and 1 Board, so I always do my ironing before I turn in for the night. There is never anyone in there then

THE $40 will be money well spent. What you will want to do is download the app to everyone’s phone now. They can’t see what’s on it until you get on the ship. However, it has a really cool countdown clock that they can add their picture to, and see how many days before their cruise. Once onboard, you can add a “group text” like if you want everyone to meet at a certain location, you don’t have to send separate texts. But, you also have the option of single messaging. I absolutely love it.

Thank You both for your detailed and thoughtful replies. This is why i opened up about this. I was praying to hear from someone who has actually experienced the effects of having to use the insurance. Thanks again.

I just asked John Heald 5 minutes ago, and they have fixed the problems they must have been having. Here is his reply:

its working well now Gloria and after a few teething problems it has proven to be a great asset for the guests. I hope you get to see it again in use soon.
