  1. You need to comply with specific insurance guidelines for pre existing conditions. Having a "notice" from a MD isn't going to cover anything with some policies.

You are so right. I wish the different plans could be in terms easily understood. I realize that It has to be insurance with a Pre-existing waiver, but I am going to check with the guidelines. This is all so confusing, because different states and different countries you live in can have different guidelines. The letter is just extra, I guess. Thanks.

  2. I have had 3 open heart surgeries in the last 35 years for Aortic Aneurysms. I have another Aneurysm. I always purchase travel insurance thru the cruise line, but I have always stepped out of faith that I would be ok. Now that I am older, I started thinking about the “what if..” I called a known company that offers multiple different insurances. I was told that to cover myself, get a letter from my doctor saying I am clear to travel, which I did. She said this letter would cover me, even though the cruise is not until September. Has anyone with pre-existing condition ever had to use the insurance? Did you get the letter from your doctor before your cruise? Thank You.

  3. Thanks for the video! We also had an interior on Lido down the hall from you, although not over the Imax. This was back in October. We liked the location a lot...nice and close to the free food and bars on Lido.

Were the forward elevators back to using a "normal" call-button system or were they using the call terminals where you'd press the deck you were going to and the system would assign you an elevator car?

In October they were using the latter. It was nifty, but definitely different; an email from Carnival to everyone to explain how it worked beforehand would have been great.

They must have gotten a lot of complaints, because they were back to normal. The signs showed that the 2 closest to the stairs went all the way down to deck “0” and the others stopped at the first deck. I was prepared for that new system, but it was not used the entire time we we’re there.

  4. I could not find any inside videos on the Lido deck Vista, so I decided to make one. 10272 is directly behind the elevators, which I loved. It is above the IMAX theater, but because the laundry room is directly underneath, we heard no noise from the theater. I think some of the other cabins might, because there’s is nothing below them. The LIdo was just steps away. The elevator took us directly to the Liquid Lounge, 3rd floor lobby, shops, and any place else I wanted to get to. These elevators also went directly to deck “0” when time to go to shore. This was a wonderful location.

Enjoy your day! Don’t let anything and anyone get you down. I know, lock your door and book another cruise on company time! Then print all of your documents on company printers! Just kidding! Hey, you’re cruising again in 3 days, so you’re going to be out-a-there! We look forward to another review.

Question...are you a writer, or blogger? Your style is so professionally done.

  6. Thank You so much for this super fun review. I have been cracking up laughing at you! Girl, when you talked about the 120 year old man going to school with Moses, I hollared! I totally related to the Walmart story. 52 items, I hollared again! :D

We have a slight problem here at my house. I just found your review this morning, and my problem is that my DH is worrying me about stupid things like breakfast and lunch! He might even want to take the risk of asking for dinner! :o There are rules in this house. There are only 2 things where I don’t like to be interrupted. That’s Scandal and Greys Anatomy. Now my problem is that I have added your review to my list!! Don’t let me have to hurt you, hubby! I hope this review don’t break up a happy home of 26 years! Ps...just so people know, I’m kidding, but your review is just that good!

I am cruising on the Vista in November, so I’m taking notes. Thanks again.

  7. I’m not finding any reports or pictures on these 1A Porthole cabins on the Vista. On other ships, the cabins have a sofa bed. However, on the Vista it looks like they have changed them to now have the bunk bed above. I don’t think I could have my niece above my head like that. Does anyone have any confirmation that this is the case? I can not find real pictures or videos on utube. Does anyone have any news about these cabins? Please and Thank You.

  8. Hey, in 1992 what was a computer room????

Hi. I started cruising in 2000, not 1992. In reference to the computers, while Joepeka and I was speaking about the phone prices, we were just adding that we also remember using the computers back in the day. We never said it was the year we started cruising. I think someone else was speaking about their phone experience in 1992. That’s probably where the confusion came into play.

  9. Never made that mistake, but did make the mistake of calling home from my cell phone once in the mid 2000's. Called out like 3 times because the first 2 calls didn't connect on my end and was dropped, then on the 3rd try got through and was on the phone for like 5 minutes.... my phone bill for those 3 calls was like $45! Never made that mistake again.

Now, I sit back and laugh my butt off when I see people chatting away on their cell phones in the middle of the ocean and all I can think to myself is do you realize what that is going to cost you when you get home. I think it is still like $5.99 a minute or something when you use your cell and are "roaming" off the ship.

    :o

I would have to explain this to any young people with me.

  10. One of my sister's had a cell bill of $245 her daughter called her three times a day. Drove us nuts especially at 6:30 am in the AM. Another cruise my youngest sister could not deal being away from her boyfriend. She disappeared constantly to talk to him on the cell. Till this day she will not admit how much that next months bill was. I warned her.

Wow, $245! Did your sister ever cruise again without the boyfriend in tow? I’ll bet those calls were shorter the next time!

  11. I took my first cruise in 2000, and i was traveling solo on the non-smoking Paradise ship. What a wonderful memory. However, I decided I would get around paying that crazy high phone charge of $9.99 per minute! My smart self came to the conclusion that if I called “collect,” I would avoid it. :') Well, my smart butt was not only charged the fee on the ship, but you guessed it, my phone company also charged me for those collect calls! Now 24 cruises later, and I always smile when I look at that cabin phone. I never used one again. :D Who remembers that charge? I think it’s $1.99 per minute now, so much better!

  12. We came back from dinner to this. I guess our stateroom attendant Fernando didn't want us sleeping together. He's very old fashioned.

I had mine separated when I cruised Solo on the Grandier. I was also on deck 3, with the large window. I loved walking up to look out of the window. This brings back wonderful memories. I also loved that large mirror on the wall, because it gave the illusion of more space.
