Hooray...no Nassau
-
just received this from RCCl

Thinking Western route, Labadee, Belize, Cozumel...almost a certainty if Florida is in the forecast track, the cruise will shortned, they are not going to sail around the edge of a hurricane in a mechanically compromised vessel
-
I'm on the Allure sailing this Sunday and I'm prepared for a shortened cruise especially if Florida is in forecast track.
-
Let's all check back in here in about 10 days and see who was right
-
I'm on the Allure the same date and right now it's unknown as to what port changes may occur..btw, the Allure has mechanical issues and can only make a slower speed
-
Hurricane Irma has strengthened and will be moving towards Puerto Rico and USVI..long range forecast for next week is rain each day
Stops in San Juan and St Thomas are looking doubtful, we're on that cruise and looking forward to an announcement from RCCL.
Just got to go with the flow....this kind of stuff makes life interesting.

That is troubling...we booked the Seaside for February, but, the booking process left me very uneasy..lots of "i'm not sure, or that information is not available yet"
If they wan't to have a positive vibe in the USA..they need to step the experience for customers, they may be low priced at this point, but, it may be worthwhile to go with and established cruise line that has a handle on customer service

I got sick on the Epic when I lost $300 playing roulette in the casino
-
Nassau hands down....might as well stay home and go down into Richmond
-
I've eaten "gas station" food from WaWa and Sheetz and it's better quality that the budget cut offerings from the cruise line
-
If your on the ground...keep us updated

I've visited Maya Chan and have also visited Chicago.
Maya Chan is much safer than the Windy City.
Look up the crime stats.

Looking for info on dance/cardio/Zumba classes that may be offered on the Allure.
Thanks

Cruise fares, gratuties, excursions, incidentals, air fare, airport parking, transfers, add up to a very expensive vacation, especially when traveling with a family
I know that many cruises are sold out and the bean counters are ordering new ships with additional capacity, but, for the average Joe Sixpack like myself, the total costs are becoming prohibitive.
I'm also considering the value proposition of what we receive in exchange for our money...cutbacks and reductions in service, same tired old ports, lead up to a diminishing experience.
Now, I have cruised many times, I intend to cruise again, but, for many folks the cruise vacation is becoming out of reach.
Just my opinion

I hear ya....when you add in the cruise fares, incidentals, gratuities, excursions, transfers, airport parking and expensive flights...cruising is becoming unaffordable.....expecially, when traveling with a family..
I know many cruises are sold out and the bean counters are planning for additional capacity, but, from my perspective we have to consider alternative vacations
Spending several thousand dollars to stop in Nassau for six hours doesn't make sense

booked on the Seaside for February.....the reviews on the newest ship Merviglia are dismal..only 36% liked the cruise..hoping the US team can avoid these issues on the Seaside
-
at this time two dead..gunshots in the area
-
Van runs over pedestrians on sidewalk...hostages being held in restaurant...Brilliance of the Seas currently in port...police call this a terrorist attack
-
Terror attack in Barcelona today...van runs over pedestrians....hostages being held in restaurant
-
four hours in Nassau is five hours too many
-
wow...we are also booked on that cruise..would prefer San Juan to St Kitts, imho, more tourist friendly..
keep us posted
-
some reviews say no facilities at Sapphire Beach, anyone there recently that can confirm what is available?
Thanks
-
On our last Allure cruise, Zumba was offered, anyone off the ship recently know if it still onboard?
Thanks
Hooray!!!.....not stopping in Nassau
in Royal Caribbean International

The Allure will not be stopping in Nassau as we will do a Western itinerary...i may be in the minority, but, Nassau is my least favorite port.On our last two visits we stayed aboard the ship.
On our prior visits, we were constantly harrased to buy things, had someone demand money, and almost robbed on tbe number 10 bus.
Our driver knew what was going to happen to us, stopped and threw the guy off who was stalking us.
