  1. My wife and I are driving out west this summer from Florida to Seattle and taking an Alaskan cruise on Ovation July 1st.

My wife has MS but she does pretty well using a came.

Any thoughts of what would be the easiest and least stressful place to park.

    1) Pier 91 or use Seattle Cruise Parking facility.

    2) I also see that you need to reserve a spot. How soon does that need to be done?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

  2. we just visited on the Allure and had a ridiculous deal on the beach club beach cabana. we thought the food was fantastic and ate like kings and queens.

having said that if a cabana on chill island is the same price as the fee to get to beach club i would take the cabana without hesitation. the cabanas are just a nice day at coco cay no matter which type in my opinion. not worth the price just for food at the beach club. i agree with mcaron the beach isn't the best either. enjoy!!

  3. My wife and I were on the same cruise. We ran into a lot of crew members we met on past cruises. This was our 19th with Royal and our 6th on the Allure.

The crew was fantastic as always. They couldn’t do enough for us. All of our food was excellent except Giovannis. To be fair we never liked Giovannis to begin with.
We had no issues or problems wearing masks when we had too. We would also say it appeared that just about all the passengers seemed ok with it as well.

It was a great first cruise back on the Allure. Oasis in December.

Does Royal Caribbean still give OBC for stock holders?

    Shareholderbenefit@rccl.com

$100 OBC with at least 100 shares shown on recent statement.

I just black out what they shouldn’t see.

Usually posts to your reservation in a couple days.

  5. Does anyone have any pictures of GS 1252 or 1552 on the Explorer.

If no pics how about someone who has stayed in either one of these.

    1) I am trying to see what the Pullman beds would look like in either of those cabins.

    2) i am also trying to find out if you had sun during the day or if it is blocked by anything above.

    Thanks!!

  6. the cabanas that had been damaged or destroyed are rebuilt.

we had our favorite hill top and it was 500 if i remember correctly. (it was a few months ago)

barefoot beach is a very short walk from the ship but if you decide to go for the golf cart they will come to pick you up.

you do not use them yourselves.

    have a great cruise.

  7. I just read on another website about a "Seafood Tower" offered at Chops. I have not seen any posts or pics of this on CC. Has anyone ever tried it? Is there an up charge for this? If so, is it worth it?

    the tower is awesome.

u do have an up charge but u r on vacation.

  8. What did Royal offer you in terms of protected dates and OBC.

Sent from my STH100-1 using Forums mobile app

    hey ken,

not sure what you mean about protected dates.

anyway when i got the email i remember they had 3 options i could choose from because of the april 26 cancellation. i am going to guess what they had been but it was something like. 1) pick any of the dates listed in this email and your price you paid will not change for the same cabin class and i think 300 obc. 2) find another cruise and get i think it was 200 OBC (can't remember the exact amount) and no charge to move it. 3) i have no clue what it was but it didn't interest me at all.

i took the second option and they moved it plus included my credit i received for booking onboard.

the first leg i had to pay the difference in the fare to move it. it was a bit more but they also moved my credit i received for booking onboard. please realize i am certainly off about the 3 options. i can't find the email or remember what it actually said.

so we switched to oasis b2b in april 2020. spring break i think but that never bothered us.

    hope that helps.

  9. Intresting that you got an email but a huge cruise booking site received nothing and apparently RC agents don’t even know. That’s even more frustrating that select passengers only received one.

Do you still have the email. If so can you copy and paste it?

Just so you know there are no cruises listed for Allure in April at all so I wouldn’t count on you April 19th sailing.

correct on the april allure cruises.

we changed to oasis and booked 4/5/2020 and 4/12/2020.

  10. We booked super early for April 26,2020 cruise, we booked in April of this year so two years out.

I found the cruise , priced it, and choose our cabin. I then booked it with my TA . A couple of months ago I did a price check and the cruise isn’t even listed , nothing listed for Allure after March of 2020....my cruise is still in my account with Royal when I checked.

I called my TA and his company site (cruise planners) still shows it, I looked again yesterday and it’s not there.

Any thought as to why this would be? My TA said give it some time.

Honestly it’s not a big deal as I’d just jump on Symphony or even try MSC SeaSide , I’m just curious what’s up with Allure, is it being moved or dry docked ?

    my wife and I had been on a B2B April 19, 2020 and april 26, 2020.

We got an email long ago that the April 26th cruise had been canceled/chartered.

  11. I dont know if this makes it any clearer or not but this is from the FAQ's for new NRD with no OBC.

10.Should your clients choose to cancel a reservation confirmed under a non-refundable deposit fare, what refunds will apply?

Outside of final payment, when a non-refundable deposit cancellation occurs, your clients will receive a FutureCruise Certificate in the amount of their designated cruise deposit, less the $100 per guest change fee. Such FutureCruise Certificates can be applied towards your client’s future Royal Caribbean cruise vacation when reserved within1 year of the issue date. Thereafter, the Future Cruise Certificate will expire and becomes invalid.

I see "reserved within a year" means the cruise can be out further. But it is RCCL's verbage

that is exactly what i did....good find...

  12. My FCC states the cruise must be taken by 2/13/2019, which is exactly one year from when I cancelled. Since my cruise partner will not be able to go before then we will probably just say goodbye to our FCC. My first time booking a nonrefundable deposit cruise and I only booked because it was an excellent Cyber Monday deal.

I am thinking of waiting closer to 2/2019 and calling again to see if I get a customer service person who will work with me.

hmmm that's odd. i actually never got a certificate.....

i had 2 cruises that i canceled that had been for april 19 and 26, 2020.

when i called and canceled i got a cancel confirmation number. i was told in about 7-10 days call back and that cancel confirmation will tell them that you have FCC to use.

i called back in a week. sure enough when i gave them the cancel confirmation numbers they had 2 FCC credits of $300 towards separate cruises. then they told me that i have to use those FCC's within 1 year. i asked can the cruise be more than a year away. she put me on hold and came back and said yes they can be whenever you like.

that's how it worked for me.

  13. I'm happy you were able to do this with your FCC. I had to cancel a cruise scheduled in May this year and my certificate from RCI states a cruise must be taken within a year of the cancellation date. I called RCI for clarification and was told I need to book and complete a cruise before my year expired.

So how were you able to do this please?

you ask how was i able to do this.

i have no idea. i called and asked... do i need to cruise within a year or just use the FCC within a year.

CS said let me ask. she came back on phone and said as long as you use the FCC within a year you can cruise whenever you like. so i asked her to put the FCC on a 2019 and 2020 cruise. she put me on hold came back and said it's done. i got an email with my new totals due for those cruises and the FCC was taken off my total.

  14. Great information.

Just to clarify, did you actually have an FCC from actually cancelling a cruise or did you move the cruise to another date?

hey ken.....yes it was from canceling a cruise.

i actually had to cancel 2. i tried to use both the same future cruise but that was not allowed.

so i used one for 2019 and one for 2020. i have 6 booked going forward so i just picked 2. they had no issue being over a year away.

  15. I know I've seen this answer somewhere, but can't find it to double check the answer... I have 3 cruises booked and want to cancel one of them. Deposit paid was $450. Totally understand losing $100. Also understand that I will get $350 as a future cruise credit.

My question is... can I apply that $350 to one of the other already booked cruises?

Will call RCI tomorrow, but thought I would find out the "real" answer before I call, so that I know how far to escalate when I get a bogus answer...

    Thanks!

yes you can use for a cruise already booked.

the cruise does not have to be within a year. you only have to use the FCC within a year of when you cancel.

it doesn't matter when the cruise is. i just did this last week and use my FCC for a cruise in 2020.

  16. Just booked the Aqua Theater Suite, 14330, on Allure for October 14. Wondering if anyone has sailed the room or even the ship and has any tips or advice that might help out, I’m all ears!

I heard this room has its balcony split in two??

Also I heard there is a height restriction for guests??

I appreciate everyone’s input in advance!

can't speak about deck 14 but we have stayed in both 11730 and 11330. i am 6 ft and had zero issues with the height of the shower.

on deck 11 the balcony alone (IMO) was worth the price of the cruise. going up they get much small and fast.

i will say this and it wouldn't matter on what deck in the back the views are awesome.

    enjoy.

  17. All,

I know this is often a topic of conversations and questions. Does the concierge reach out to Star Class Suite guests before the sailing? In the case of this Allure of the Seas August 5th sailing they definitely do. I've been talking to this concierge from Allure for a few days now and Dexter, seems to be a cut above. I don't know if this is the expectation across the fleet of vessels that offer Star Class suite service (Oasis Class and Quantum Class) but it should be. It does a great job of outlining those mysterious suite benefits and giving the guests a good idea of the requests that can be made of the concierge. I've copied and pasted the letter below.

Having said that when we cruise and Dexter is on board we always get it.

We have become pretty friendly with him at this point. I think we have had Dexter 6 times so far. He is a great guy and will help you with any of your needs. A real pro.

I would really appreciate you letting Dexter know that Howie and Lisa say hello.

    Have a great cruise. Enjoy!!!!!

  18. I did search the last few days of posts just to make sure I'm not mowing mowed grass here.

We're starting to think about the cruise after the next one and the next one is only a few weeks off.

It's been a while since we did an onboard booking, I actually think 2013 was the last time. Wondering if there's truly any advantage with regard to deposit, OBC or any other perks or if it's just a token not-worth-it small gesture? We're most likely looking at a GS or CLS in Sept/Oct/Nov 2019 on one of the Oasis ships.

    Any advice ?

my wife and I sailed the Allure last month.

We booked 2 cruises. Harmony and Symphony both in GS.

we got 400 OBC for each cruise.

    enjoy
