Interesting, there was a 25% bonus for signing up our first day but we were told the free Elite 90 minute package did not qualify for the bonus.

I know that the Elite Plus information identifies 200 free internet minutes however on our cruise last week in the Equinox computer room the information on display indicated 240 minutes free for Elite Plus status which is the next package up from the base 90 minute package provided to Elites. We will be Elite Plus on the next cruise so just wondering if the internet minutes are 200 or 240?

Absolutely on our last 14 night Caribbean it was ridiculous. Fighting occurred and on guy kicked off the ship. Another able bodied racing a scooter he "borrowed" around the pool deck.

This has happened to us only when also booked with choice air. I was told by captain club rep it somehow messes up the auto processing of final documents and luggage tag bottom. You must call captain's club and they will intervene to correct your reservation.

Word of caution about Blu breakfast hours. They are not the same every day, check the daily planner evening before for opening and "doors closed" hours. Port and sea days can differ.

Give me a break. Go to Disney land if you if you want toys. Give me clean sheets, clean towels and ice. Staff have enough to do without making towel animals we are not 10 years old.

Similar situations
at first the message said that their system was unable to access my reservation - that went on for a few weeks and I did speak to the Captains Club about it. They said they would alert their IT.
now the message says that my reservation number cannot be found.
Appreciate the earlier post from X saying to contact their IT but really JUST FIX IT!

How is access to Michaels club being done? Is is like the concierge lounge on RCI where you have to swipe your sea pass to get in. Do you think they would allow our 15 year old to go in by herself during the day to get a bottle of water. I'm trying to decide if she will need a drinks package as she mainly drinks water. We are in a celebrity suite next cruise but looking forward to the royal suite on the one after as its after April next year.

why not just bring on a case of water - put a luggage tag on it at pier and they will deliver to your suite.

While it can be very entertaining for awhile we noticed behaviour on a past Caribbean X cruise which by the end of the 10 days was disgusting
These were 30-50 yr old men and women starting off with beer for breakfast, an able bodied guy racing handicap scooters around the pool deck (mind you he was unlikely able to walk at that point) and women falling down at the bar by 2:00pm.
Have not observed similar behaviour on other itinaries.

If you do not already have NEXIS - get it! You get into a special line at FL which is quicker + you clear Canadian customs through a barely used "eye scan" absolutely no custom line up when you land in Canada. When flying out of Canada also AMAZING jump the line advantages. Worth every penny but can take up to 6 months to get. So start the process now.

You might want to consider flying into Calgary, Alberta as your flight plan. From there rent a car and drive through the Rockies. Lots of interesting places along the way to Vancouver.

In fairness to the room steward who would not be bugging you if he had any other cabins but your children's left to attend to let them take a pass on the cabin "morning" tidy up.

My experience has been that if you are pleasant and friendly plus not ridiculously demanding the staff are exceptional and friendly back.

Put the credit card on file then put cash on your account at Guest Services. No big bucks on your next credit card bill and you have no issues on the ship - including getting off on disembarkment which if you owe them any money will be a huge headache. Although I am a big fan of getting those credit card points which costs you nothing if you pay off your balance every month.

Several times I ordered entree's (not to mention the french onion soup) off the main dining room menu while eating in Blu on this year's Equinox April transatlantic. The waiters were always accommodating. We would take a look at the mdr menu before going to dinner in case nothing was too appealing on the Blu menu.
Tony
M Class is shared galley Blu & MDR so if they let you it is not a huge inconvenience. On the S class that is a totally different story.
Onion soup was an "always available" on our TA last Fall in Blu. Ask your waiter what additional items may be available as some items are not listed on the menu.

Suggest you plan on the walk off program where you take off your own luggage. That will put you at the front of the line getting off the ship and through customs. Last time we did this and were at the FL airport before 8 am.
BUT if the ship has custom clearance issues..the will be delays releasing passengers. Also make sure you bill is taken care of properly on your last evening. Usually not an issue but we witnessed one fellow stopped from leaving the ship because they had a "credit" on account meaning the ship owed him money??? The fellow thought that because he had a small credit there would be no issue and it would be processed on his credit card - but the amount was less than they would normally process so they wanted to settle it with cash. Needless to say he was majorly annoyed.

:)We have done 3 TA's out of Rome and loved them all plus our next cruise is a TA out of Barcelona this coming October. So far, all great weather which is a crap shoot no matter where you cruise from or to. Our worst was out of New York to the Caribbean and back.
The only thing bad thing about a TA is the flight (soooo long). A couple of things I would suggest - go to Rome well before the cruise if you can. Our first time was 3 days early (was not enough for all there is to see and enjoy the wonderful restaurants), second time was 5 days early (still felt we could have enjoyed more time, third time 7 days pre cruise (good but probably not been enough time had we not been there two times before).
Also I would suggest a car service prearranged to pick you up at the airport as it really takes the stress out of a long flight. It is just a little bit more expensive than a taxi but the car service will be there waiting outside of the luggage pickup area with a sign with your name on it. They know where to take you (even if they do not speak English) and help you with your luggage to their car. Sit back and relax. Our hotel made the arrangements for us but it is also easy to go online to find a service.
The first time we took the train to the port (won't do that again) and last two times we took a car service to the port and while a bit expensive is a great start to the cruise as it is quick and relaxing service from your hotel right to the ship. But do be careful as some car services cannot go all the way to where the ship is docked. They require a special license so if you go this route be sure to confirm their ability to take you past the security gates to the ship.

Agree with buying on line ahead - also consider the free downloads by Rick Steve's. Gives you a great preview and sense of the history. We have been there twice. First on our own (pre bought tickets on line) and did it on our own with the Rich Steve's audio tour. Second we pre bought the underground tour where you get to go to sections not otherwise open to general tours. I would recommend the underground tour.

I will miss it as it was a great time to go to the regular buffet. No crowds and easy to get a table:).

Tips are always appreciated and we always tip room service $3 to $5 depending on the size of the order.

Here is how it worked for us on our March 2014 Equinox Blu experience (link below). The answer is YES we could order from the MDR menu each night and were greeted each evening by the Blu Hostess offering us the MDR menu.

While you may have lucked out with this amazing extra service I find it highly unlikely that it is a common occurrence. So I would suggest to the OP not to get their hopes up but more likely expect that if there is something on the MDR menu they would like they can get a table in the "Select" section of the MDR through the Blu Mtrd.

We have been to Rome pre-cruise 3 different times each time spending more time than the last and would go back for a week the next chance we get. It is incredible and very easy to do on your own. Rick Steves has a great guide book and free down-load audio tours.
If you can afford the time - highly recommend taking more time than 3 days. We have stayed at the same wonderful hotel 3 times Residenza Cellini and they can arrange a car to pick you up at the air port 55 euro and to the port 140 euro. Great location and breakfast included.

Just a word of caution on the laundry..they use very hot water and a very hot dryer.
-
Flying out of either Toronto or Buffalo - We always arrive pre cruise at least 1 day early no matter what time of year. Start your holiday early and enjoy knowing you have time to spare no matter what the weather.
