  1. I usually get the crab cake, French onion soup, the tomato & mozzarella salad, and either the rib-eye or filet mignon. My fiance usually gets the portabella mushroom, French onion soup, Caesar salad, and he used to get the porterhouse steak but I think last time he got the cowboy steak. Then we usually share a dessert. Personally, after all that, I could do without dessert!

  2. You can do it with a lot less. I came out $250 to the good on our last cruise and I think I had around 3-4,000 points. Got the free cruise offer too. The trick is not to lose!! hahaha If you're playing with winnings, then you're not spending a dime of your own money.

  3. Sailed on Fantasy a few years ago in January. Saw a few price drops which came to about $50-60 per person.

The price drops all happened before final payment so we got the price reduction on our cruise fare. Ended up being $229 for a 5 day cruise! My friends were really happy they let me do the booking!! And I was happy it worked out that way and I was the Hero! hahaha

  4. We are interested in doing a sunset cruise. Will be in Bonaire on Monday Jan 19, 2015, from 2pm to 10pm. We are on Carnival Liberty. I don't see any excursions that include a sunset cruise. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this or any ideas who to contact for a private excursion.

  5. I received this offer but my fiance did not, even though he gambles more than I do. But I'm the one who books the cruises so I don't know if that makes a difference. haha

We booked a Premier Casino offer before and we've received "extras" like... fruit, cheese and wine basket in the room, chocolate chip cookies delivered, chocolate covered strawberries delivered, free bottle of wine in the MDR, free steak house dinner... so maybe these are some of the "extras".

  6. Are the zone numbers new? We haven't cruised for almost 2 years, but we've cruised out of Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Charleston, and San Juan and have never had zone numbers.

I think the longest it ever took to get through the embarkation process was 45 minutes and we're usually on by noon. We don't have carry-ons to drop off because we check everything except my purse which is no big deal to carry around. So no FTTF for us.

The only reason I would consider it would be if we have a few tender ports.

  7. We were there (Stingray City) in January or February a few years ago and it was very warm, mid to upper 80s. Water temp was awesome!!

I would think Grand Cayman would be warmer than the Bahamas. I thought the Bahamas were a bit chilly in January.

  8. The bartender did you a favor. I hope you had been taking care of her.

I actually started arguing that we weren't allowed to share and that's when she told us "no problem". Yes, we were taking extra care of all our bartenders! We always had some $1 on us to tip extra for the drinks.

  9. I do consider it stealing and more importantly Carnival does as well. I won't tell you what do but I have also gotten drinks for others while on the Cheers program. The difference being that I paid for them and they were not part of my 15.

On our cruise last year, we wanted to buy a drink for a new friend and were willing to pay, actually I was assuming we would HAVE to pay. The bartender said "no problem, you have Cheers. It doesn't matter who drinks it" She gave us a drink for our friend knowing that we were giving it to her... so I guess it really depends on the bartender.

  10. When I had a large purchase to make, I've actually charged up to my credit limit, paid it off the next day, and charged back up to my limit again in the same month. Of course then I paid the final charge off by the due date. Never had any fees!

I think we've used $700 from our points plus I remember one cruise there was a $50 OBC given to us that said Compliments of Barclay. I don't know how we got that one because I didn't ask for it and they didn't take any points off. We only have 16,000 points available currently but we've been charging everything we can to it.

I usually take my points as OBC. I'll have to look into the benefits of using it for a statement credit.

  11. We start with a Miami Vice when we board. On a "normal" day we start with Bloody Marys and then I usually switch to rum & Coke or Long Island Iced Tea and my fiance drinks beer during the day, vodka in the evening.

Haven't had any problem with sharing. On our last cruise a bar waiter actually encouraged us to share so we "bought" drinks for some new friends. I wasn't sure we were allowed but she said it didn't matter who was drinking it.

  12. We've been to the Steakhouse 4 or 5 times. I have never timed it or even noticed how long it took. I'd guess over 2 hrs but other than being on time for shore excursions I don't have any idea what time it is, and I don't care. haha

And to answer the tipping question: We left an additional $20.

  13. I can't see that we'll ever use FTTF. No one has to watch the bags when everything is checked. The only thing I carry on is my purse with my prescriptions, ID, etc. We're usually on by noon, 1230 at the latest, and I don't remember ever waiting for more than 10-15 minutes in line. By the time we've had a few DODs and lunch our room is ready.

As for leaving the ship? As far as I'm concerned we can be the last ones off!

Might have waited 30 minutes for a tender though. Never had a problem getting to an excursion on time.

  14. I don't think this is something we would ever pay for. We're usually on board by noon, already had our first drink and enjoying the buffet. We check all our luggage except for my purse which I carry my medications in, not all that bulky to be lugging around. I don't remember ever waiting, seems like the lines were constantly moving and I think we were checked in within 20 min.
