  1. We loved Alcatraz. I bought a book about Alcatraz, and the author who was a former prisoner there, signed the book for me.
  2. I'm with you on the Grouper, Bob! Delicious! @Sea Dog Love all of your pictures of a happy time with good friends! @Jimbo Great pictures, Jim!πŸ˜‰
  3. Pretty awful about the kids having to be bussed (or however they travel) to a faraway school, when the school nearest to them no longer has room for the local kids.πŸ˜” my grandsons still have some years to finish intermediate as well as high school to finish here before College. I truly hope for their sake that it won't get so crowded here that it will interfere with their learning. Luckily they are pretty bright kids, but still...right now, the schools here are having funding taken from them, with the Arts being the biggest cuts of all.
  4. LOL! We did move South😁 An hour away from our very crowded Staten Island with so much traffic, we did get away from it for a couple of years, and our grandchildren have made some awesome friendships here, not to mention the opportunities discovering the talents the four of them all have shown to have been blessed with! With that said, it is becoming quite full here..just saying..🀨
  5. +1 @Sea Dog Looks like a great time with a great group of friends. Good for you, rolling your eyes when your friend tried to goad you. Enjoy, and have the best time, Greg!πŸ˜‰
  6. You're not kidding! We moved here 7 years ago, Two new red lights made their appearance just around my block, a new 55 and over community built around when we moved in, and the ground clearing in all directions of our town, an entire community of townhouse buildings are partially occupied while more buildings going up there, and way more ground clearing where low income housing will be going up. I don't know where our town is going to find the room in our schools to contain the population of children who will be attending. Rte 9 is only a one lane road, and our other main road is only two-lane.
  7. Thank you everyone for your kind words about my grandsons and their friends. ❀️ They all arrived back here and stayed in the backyard until almost 1:00 a.m. I never heard a sound when they left this morning. They all are such good friends as well as really good kids!
  8. @Keksie Have a wonderful cruise, Karen! One more "sleep" and you'll be getting on the ship.πŸ˜‰ Bon Voyage!!!πŸ›³οΈ
  9. It worked! What beautiful memories you and your DH are making with your grandsons! Plus, they are learning the proper way to make pasta from scratch!!❀️
  10. Okay. I tried downloading a picture or two or 3 from my grandson Jack's Prom pictures I still don't know what I'm doing (obviously). So..the two duplicate pictures on the top of the page are 3 of our grandsons. Jack on the left, William in the middle, and Ryan on the right. The next picture is of Ryan and another friend of both Jack and Ryan. The next is of Jack and his girlfriend. The last is the group in front of the Limo.
  11. Thank you, Marietta.😘 My mom was also the child of the Depression, as was my dad. Unbelievable what so many of our parents lived through, Like Sue's mom, @sgmn my mom was 8 years old when her mom died from TB, and my mom and her 3 younger siblings almost wound up in Mt. Loretta, a home for orphans and children who's single parent couldn't care for them. My dad also was a young child when he lost his dad. There were so many hardships for so many of our parents; but they surely earned the title of "the greatest generation"
  12. Your home and grounds are gorgeous, Graham! Enjoy! Looks like you are having a great vacation, Jimbo. Your food porn looks yummy!
  13. Reading of how you feel conflicted about including info about some of your living relatives...while somewhat different, reminded me of a College English class I took. The Professor wanted everyone in the class to write a journal about what was going on in their daily lives and to write about their emotions. Our three daughters were all away at College at this time, and so my journal was mostly about my feelings and worries about them. There was no way I wished my daughters to read about some of my raw emotions that I had written, so when that class ended, I destroyed the journal.
  14. Thank you, Etta.😘 I sure know what you mean. 🌹 Thank you, Renee😘 Thank you, Dani. I'm sure your visit with your son and grandsons are just so wonderful!🌺 Thank you, Mark.πŸ₯°
  15. Liz was quite ridiculous with her outburst. How does one even decide to go on this show when you have so many food allergies?? Venus is another story..... This is true about the blindsides. I would've liked to have the other person sent home, though. I'm so done with that one.
  16. When we first got it, I wasn't really in to it, and several months went by before I picked it up and began writing. Once I did, I began to totally enjoy doing it. The bound book arrived a day or two after we got home from Florida.
