  1. I need my UK train experts to tell me if the slow train that leaves Southampton Central at 13 after the hour on May 12 for LON(slow train as it is the 2hour 32 minute) going thru 3 bridges is one of the targeted trains for the strike, and if I need to move now to cancel my tickets and book the National Express coaches or even a car hire. HELP!
  2. On a work discussion, I got this photo from a vendor about the truck load of cross arms I ordered a month ago….
  3. The four blue coveralls have reassembled the machine, but they are still tapping the screen and I have yet to see the familar screen or hear the beans grinding. It is approaching should I leave or should I go time, and I am not feeling optimistic. JC
  4. We had another terrific lunch yesterday at Jamie’s, but with the silly noon move the clock forward, we had to change from our early dinner at Chops to a late 8:30PM option. I think the clock change is just to steal an hour from me on the FlowRider😂, and to make me eat less food. I am never hungry, except before lunch because I am skipping breakfast mostly except for a croissant from the DL. I haven’t searched the WJ, but I can’t find the Austrian Stritzel anywhere on deck 4 (raisin bread). I really miss that. The temps were definitely warmer yesterday 63F pretty much all day. We had a heavy shower just before I got to the wave in the afternoon. I am still struggling with the top of the wave, I can never “feel” the rail until I am well and truly to far on it. So, I can’t slide the rail consistently, because I don’t know it is there. On the upside I only surfed over the top one time yesterday, and ran it off without a fall. The board shows it is 64F this morning, and the sky is just as grey. Any other things you all want to hear about? We went to the concert last night by the ship band and the singers. Weird collection of songs. The rock singer dude, who I assume does the Freddie bit in We will rock you attributed the song I drove all night to Celine Dion… I think Roy Orbison recorded it first and Cyndi Lauper made it a hit way back in the 80s. A blonde singer (woman) did Rainbow’s Since you have been gone which was probably the best. The schooner bar singer did Elton’s Saturday Night is all right which was a little off, and a skinny dark headed girl did his Candle in the Wind, a lot off. Just struck me as an odd collection of songs. It was a decent waste of 45 minutes. JC
  5. Re previous post, of the two important events I am reminded of today, only one is going to personally impact me… that is the blue coveralls.🤣 Sorry to all of my English Friends and their UK associates.😉 jc
  6. So, this morning, after leaving the cabin I have to views which struck me. The first was the Royal Esplanade, and the second was the 4 blue coveralls surrounding the coffee machine tearing it apart. I only took a picture of the first. So, the math, of how many shots of either 15 or 25, makes a bottle of Tito’s worth between about $130 and over $200, so I think a silly block selling for $199 to be about the same markup. I don’t have a ton of blocks, but I think the new one is superior in looks.
  7. I would think Grey Goose would be a tastier choice. I don’t do vodka neat. Or actually at all!🤣 crazy what they charge for a shot. Biker, how many shots in a 750ml bottle? jc
  8. Looks better than I expected. I like the new better. Now if I can get 199 on eBay life is good!
  9. So, back on the bars on ship topic. Last night we had 5 drinks on my card, D+. As we were finishing dinner I asked for two double Gran Marnier on K’s card. 15 minutes later here came two drinks, light for two shots again, and not in a brandy glass. The drinks were perfectly clear, and I couldn’t smell anything. I said, this is not GM? Waiter yes it is Cointreau. I said, Cointreau is not a cognac, GM is a cognac. It is brown not clear. 10 minutes later we had GM still not a full double. Sigh. All of this made me think of John…. Since he thinks all orange liquors are the same!😘 So, real question is….. Sometimes, mostly in specialty dinning they don’t bring me a receipt for drinks. How do we know what they are hitting our cards for. I often get the feeling that they now know we are D+ and they don’t bother doing the wine, they just bring it. Would be good to know. On the upside, when they bring a paper receipt they suck a small tip from me. Since I never carry money, if they were smart they would always bring me a receipt. JMHO and YMMV jc
  10. There is a slightly more casual restaurant in the Eiffel Tower too, we are at Le Jules Verne.
  11. So heading off to the room, been doing some work with slightly tolerable wifi in the robot bar, since nobody is ordering drinks there! Hopefully the crowd has dwindled if not I may be done for the day.
  12. No sir. Krystal is visiting the diamond concierge, they just remove the reservation and we can book again in 3 days. Some people are having luck sucking up to the instructors. There is a chap, Paul, from Canada, his wife has her own helmet and I think she has ridden many times, pretty much every day. They don’t enter the tube with her, just stand at the door. I think we will get 4 goes. Winning!
  13. The temps were a bit warmer upper 60s, I quit when the line got 14 people long. We did IFly and do it again on day 8 at 9AM
  14. Double Toto’s? Don’t know what that is, but will ask at the Music Hall the next night or two. JC
  15. Another less than beautiful day outside. We are supposed to IFly for second time in 30 minutes. jc
  16. New conundrum for the group. I just left the cabin, and there was a note that not all guests have received their luggage, and they want the cabin steward to inspect our bags to make sure we don’t have someone else’s bag. So, I walked from behind the aft stairs to the front stairs to come down to the DL to check in and do a bit of work. I saw not one other note on a door for this. I don’t care that they inspect the room, but why wouldn’t they be checking all of the rooms? That seems nuts as well. It has been exceedingly cool. Last night when we went to bed it was 44F. Right now it looks hazy and cloudy. Flowrider yesterday for two hours it was never sunny and a bit breezy, so I didn’t go back after lunch. Dinner at WonderLand, we had a below average waiter. We were easily on schedule to go to the Gift, but he literally disappeared before dessert. Ordered a double Gran Marnier neat and got a single. Dessert took 45 minutes. The people next to us, who came after left 20 minutes ahead of us. We got to the show at 8:15 it was packed we stood and watched for 10 before heading to bed. I am not sure how ventilation works on the ship, but it was in the 40s outside, I left the door open and I was still melting in the cabin a few hours later. JC
