  1. Hi. Can anyone confirm there is an Alamo Shuttle to the Alamo Car Rental location at the Miami airport from the Port of Miami? I have spoken to 3 Alamo reps and all 3 have told me different things.

    1) They do not provide Shuttle service from POM to MIA location

    2) They have a downtown location that we could walk to from the POM to pickup rental car.

    3) Yes, they have a shuttle that will pick you up at the port and take you to the airport location. This rep seemed to know what she was talking about and didn't even have to put me on hold.

Just a little skeptical when I get so many different answers.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Also, when I go into rent the car - it has a note at the bottom that Alamo collects a Frequent Flyer Tax Recoupment Surcharge to cover federal tax on the cost of miles awarded at time of rental. What does that mean? I am renting through Southwest.

As you can tell we don't usually rent a car so I'm learning as I go.

    Thanks :)

  2. There are no rental car companies directly located at the Port Of Miami. Alamo, National, Enterprise, Dollar, and Thifty provide free shuttle service from the port to the Rental Car Center which is located across from Miami international Airport. Hertz, Avis, and budget have downtown locations that are very close to the Port of Miami. Cruise Critic members give conflicting reports of free shuttle service to the downtown locations. I personally use Alamo, Dollar, and National when i need to rent a vehicle. The shuttles circle the port area and return to the Rental Car Center when they are full. Some drivers will ask to see your vehicle reservation before they allow you to enter the shuttle. The ride to the Rental Car center takes approximately fifteen minutes.

Thanks so much - that was exactly what I was looking for - you are the BEST! :)

  3. This is our first time taking a cruise out of NY. We are flying into New Jersey (EWR) and staying in Secaucus the night before the cruise. Need some help from experienced cruisers. What is the best transportation from airport to hotel and then hotel to port? We haven't tried Uber yet but friends are telling us to try them out. Is that the best way to go? Also, with Uber is it a flat rate or can they charge you more if they run into traffic? Extra for tolls? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks :)

  4. We currently have two p&p cruise booked:D

Since we only paid $75pp w/$100 OBC, don't really expect a price drop;)

Does the pack and play show up under your account the same place the premier casino offer shows? I always hope to see one but have yet to receive it if I'm looking at the correct place.

  5. We booked a tour with Captain Bob. Our ship is in St Martin from 9-5. Captain Bob said to meet at the his boat dock at 9:30 and return around 4ish. The more I think about it will we have enough time. We have booked several private tours (not through the ship) but have never been on an all day one like this. I just want to be able to make the tour but more importantly not miss the ship.

Opinions please and if you have been on this tour any issues making it in time for the tour and also returning to the ship?

    Thanks a bunch. :)

  6. Could someone please tell me the car rental companies that offer either a free shuttle to the port or has a rental location at the port?

This is the first time we are going to rent a car before a cruise (just 1 day). We are planning on picking it up at FLL (airport) and either returning it by the port or taking a free shuttle from rental company to the port.

Hope you can help. Thanks :)
