Never ending cascade..sorry for the patient. Glad we cancelled our May cruise on Sunmit.!
Patiently waiting for credit to hit our card, and for arrival of our fcc certificate.
Wait, you're getting money back on your credit card? I was told all I was getting was a future cruise credit if I were to cancel???

Like you, my partner and I are in our early 30's and will be sailing Celebrity for the first time on the Summit this Spring. I've only ever sailed Royal so I'm looking forward to a new experience.
I'm a bit nervous about a smaller(ish) ship, but based on your review it looks like I should have a lot of fun.

They did something similar to this on the Brilliance TA last month. It was a lot of fun!

Sailing Brilliance in two months, so I'll be following along to see some pics of the ship and read your impression of Brilliance.
Also, thank you for bringing your full authentic self to this review and being open about what makes you, you!

First of all, thank you so much for sharing all those wonderful pictures.
secondly, I think that's the first time I've EVER seen a radiance class ship with the roof retracted in the solarium and I've spent 22 days on Jewel Of The Seas.
Lastly, do you have any reviews of Radiance Class ships you've done? would love to see more of your pictures.... I'm going on Brilliance in a few months 🙂

I did a Transatlantic on the Jewel of the Seas (Sister ship to Brilliance) and I remember smelling the smoke in the casino, and around the entrance to the casino, but I don't recall it being a problem in the Centrium.
Don't forget, there are more than two places on that ship. It's not like you're going to spend all your time at the Centrium, so I'd think the smell of smoke shouldn't effect the cruise too much. The Schooner bar is so lovely on that cruise, and that big room in the very back by the pool tables. The viking lounge is a great spot as well. You wouldn't smell smoke in any of those places.

If it does go to $13 per day, we'll switch to bringing a 12 pack of bottles onboard, and pay out of pocket for the rest, about $4 per soda
DanI thought Soda's were only around $2.50 per can onboard? Last couple of cruises I had a package though, so it likely has gone up...but to $4? ouch.

Is your claim that this was a member of the crew who assaulted you?

I've wondered this as well, as I remember seeing the virgin list and it was pretty small.
Anyone have any other virgin cocktail suggestion you've tried?

Sailed Allure last year for the first time and decided to try Johnny Rockets for breakfast one morning... it was a 35 minute wait! Was surprised it was so long so we decided not to return.
Going back on Allure next week so will give it another shot!

Thanks for your review of Allure. I'll be flying down on the same Westjet flight you took (I first have to fly Halifax - Toronto at 6:30am...gross!)
My partner and I don't have kids so I appreciate that your review had lot's of great info for the adults as well!

Hasn't the free chat always been available on Anthem?

I'm cruising September 30th this year.... my first ever cruise in September.
It fit into my work schedule and the price was right, so I booked it. I'm aware that things could get altered but I don't think it's accurate to say the odds are that a hurricane will alter travel plans, but the risk is obviously higher in September than other months.
I'm accepting the risk and just looking forward to a break from work and from the chilly fall weather.

I'm enjoying your review.
My husband and I are both Millennials and will be joined by my parents at the end of this month on an eastern Allure cruise... so, we're in a similar "boat" as you :)
This will be our 2nd time on Allure and am learning stuff from you!
We bought the Refreshment package (last year we just used the Diamond Drink vouchers) so, other than milkshakes, let me know if you find any other cool drinks to get with the package. :)
-
If your seapass card is waiting for you outside your stateroom (available around 1pm) then you can't get a drink until after you get to your room. Practice self-restraint. :)

I've done 30 nights on Mariner and 21 nights on Jewel (sister ship to Brilliance)
I'd go with the Marnier. There are more bars, more open spaces, lovely promenade and I feel the space is more useful.
I do like the Jewel, like the lovely elevators, lot's of glass, outside windjammer, smaller feel.....but it's still pick voyager class if the itin was the same.

This new website/login has been a complete disaster. Whoever is head of marketing and e-channels within RCCL should be fired.... not only for causing this huge mess, but making what seems like no progress!
Anyway, I booked a cruise on RCCL, and then transferred it to a TA. The reservation number I gave my TA was coming back as not valid, even though I had the confirmation. Apparently after booking online royal changed my confirmation number.
I also can't book any shore excursions or entertainment. Keep getting errors. So frustrated.

Clearly a glitch, but if you want to take an inside room on Brilliance in Dec, it'll cost $17,000 for a 5 day cruise, lol.
Don't worry though, there are some cheaper inside rooms available for only $5300 USD. What a bargain at only $535 USD per person per night.
Anyway, just thought I'd share. : )

I can confirm that 3635 is an over-sized interior room.
I stayed in it during a TransAtlantic crossing on the Jewel. However it was the sailing right after the dry dock and they didn't finish some of the drydock. This resulted in a lot of noise...I mean alot! four cabins in my hallway moved and eventually on day 6 I moved as well to another inside room and the difference in the size was very noticeable.

Wait, what? I'm booked on this cruise and haven't heard anything yet.
LOL, I got my years mixed up. Next year is 2018, not 2019. ;) Looks like my cruise is good.

Hi Everyone,
Got off Allure recently and I purchased the First Night Done Right and my intention was to use it for Chops.
I clearly should have searched these boards before I purchased, because there are reports here that Allure will only offer Giovanni or Samba.
When I boarded I went to deck 5 where you book your specialty restaurant's and I told him I wanted to use it for Chops, he said no, only Giovanni or Samba. I pushed back and he stood his ground. He told me when you buy the First Night Done Right it says "Only valid for Giovanni's or Samba". I explained to him it doesn't say that. He said if I could provide him with my confirmation where it doesn't say that, he'll let me book Chops..... Darn, I didn't have my confirmation, lol.
I feel 99.9% confident it doesn't say that when you book it, so as a heads up to future cruisers, bring your confirmation with you, and they might let you book something different. Good luck.
I ended up booking Samba for 6pm that night, but when I got to Samba he said no-one booked me and I was booked into Giovanni. So no idea what that first guy did.
On a side note, great cruise. I wish I had more than 7 days on such a big ship. Lot's to explore and lot's to do. Had a blast. :)

I like hearing that the DL is most people's favourite.
My first time as Diamond was a 15 night Transatlantic. The diamond lounge was so busy it had to take over the entire crown lounge. We went up there once and an older couple said "oh, did you boys get lost." Implying that we were too young to be up there! (Mid 20's) it also appeared to be a very mature crowd who all clicked so we never persued it the rest of the cruise.
I'm going on a cruise next week with my parents who are also diamond. We will try and use it with them. They are in their late 60's so I'm hoping that gives me some street cred.

I sailed Jewel Of The Seas in April 2016 after the dry dock. They offered me 25% but I asked for 50% Future cruise credit and they gave it to me. Looks like 25% is usually their first offer?
Suite Guarantee....1st Time for this...any comments would be appreciated

Quick question for those who have booked suite guarantees before.
I booked a suite guarantee a few weeks ago but when I go to check the sailing online, it says all suites are sold out. So I'm guessing they keep some JS out of inventory to give to the guarantees? I haven't been assigned a stateroom get but check-in is in 2 weeks.
