I enjoyed the sea days last year, I was nervous with it being my first TA but I think I'm hooked. Only problem is I get three weeks vacation a year, which means I have to take it all in one go, but I suppose it's worth it. :)
You're right about the fitness area, the hot tub in there is the best, the steam room was also large. I'd never been in a steam before, it was my first time. Very hot.
My hubby and I made lot's of friends last year, people who we will be crusing with again this year, so will be nice to see familiar faces.
I convinced my mom and dad to come along with us, it's their first TA and mom is nervous but I know she'll have a blast!

Hello,
Myself (Chris) and my husband (Mathew) will be on this crossing.
Last year we did our first TA and it was Mariner from Rome to Galveston. a 16 nighter and the best cruise I've been on to date. I'm hoping this sailing will be as good, if not better, than the Mariner!

I'm going to be following this as well. Nice to see two fathers cruising with their sons. How old are your sons?

I booked 7388 on the Mariner for next year, I hear it has the biggest balcony out of any cabin onboard (except it's sister cabin, 7688, which is identical). So I'm looking forward to trying my first ever aft cabin. :)

How does one book this room? Is it more expensive than other PR rooms or oceanview rooms?

I guess I manage to avoid these situations somehow. My partner and I are in our early 20's and we've done two cruises. I haven't had any issue with rude young poeple or rude old people on our cruise. I think there was one or two people who skipped in line but that doesn't bother me, it's not the end of the world. Also to avoid any nasty remarks me and my partner(both males) don't hold hands on the boat or show any affection in public while on the boat, by doing so we're avoiding a potential nasty situation. If we see some people that look snoby in the windjammer we simply keep going and find a seat somewhere else, maybe in a more quiet location or where the people are laughing and having a great time.
