Looking forward to your review. We too will be boarding when you return so take good care of our ship.
Enjoy!

This is hilarious!!!! :D

We also did NCL's Pride of America. Flew directly to Oahu and stayed a couple of days before the cruise in Waikiki. As mentioned above, the ship is really your floating hotel. There is entertainment on board likes shows, etc. but no casino which really doesn't matter because you'll be off the ship more than you're on the ship. It's very port intense; two days in both Maui and Kauai and both sides of the Big Island. Be sure to arrange transportation and/or excursions because there's not much around where the ship docks.

Thanks for the info. We sail on Anthem next month.
Can't wait!!!

Bayonne is always beautiful when a ship is in port. :)

Is Anthem's Coastal Kitchen open for lunch on embarkation day?

We found Dukes Lane Market & Eatery to be very nice. It's not on the main strip but about one block away. Just walk down Dukes Lane and it will on the left side at the corner. You can google it for their menus.

Not sure about Freedom but there was one on Allure.
Also saw one on Anthem.
They were both located past the regular check in line.
Great! I was hoping there was one on Anthem.
We had one on the Oasis when we sailed on her.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.
Sailing on Anthem in October so I'm looking forward to your review.
Have a great cruise!

Looking at you tube videos it seems like their may be different set ups of owners suites. One video looks like the bathroom has a door in the hall and one from the master. One video looks like there is only one door to the bathroom and it’s in the living area.
Also one video makes it seem it like their are actual doors from the master bedroom to the living area and another look like there is only curtains blocking the master bedroom. Does anyone know? These are the rooms available for our dates.

We had Owner's Suite 14640 on Oasis and it only has one entrance to the bathroom in the foyer (opposite the dining table). It was nice and quiet, great location and not far from the elevators/stairs.

Thanks for your review.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise.
Looking forward to sailing on her in October.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise. We sailed in an OS with hot tub last year and loved it too. The steam shower is awesome!!! On our sailing we were fortunate to visit Kilauea's summit on the Big Island. Hopefully on your next Hawaiian cruise you will be able to visit the Big Island too.

We did the sunrise excursion through the cruise line and it was simply one of the most memorable trips ever. The views are breathtaking. Yes it was cloudy but with peaks of the sun rising here and there and phenomenal colors in the sky. Don't be afraid of the altitude; it's a long serpentine road up. Just layer your clothing accordingly and chew gum or eat ginger for the change in altitude.

For all those following the volcano news there are some interestng videos posted on the “USGS Volcanoes” Facebook page.
I appreciate your updates. We were there last year and loved Hilo. So unfortunate for everyone in the path of the eruption. Wishing all safety and a better outcome.

Was on a Celebrity cruise maybe 5 years ago and we had a port stop in Tobago. Went to a beautiful beach there (clean, soft sand and warm water). They have really nice highways with more than one traffic light. :D

Bidet!
Oh yes, the BIDET!!! :D

You will have a wall of closets (loads of storage), chaisse lounge attached to the sofa and a really comfy chair with footrest. On the Jewel, the balcony is huge. We have stayed in several OS on this class ship and love them.
Enjoy!

We are going on the Pride of America and have booked the Road to Hana with Valley Isle Excursions. They also have another tour we were considering for our second day. It covers Iao Valley, Upcountry, and Haleakala Volcano.
Has anyone done both of these tours? We will not be renting a car. My only concern is that the tours would be too similar in nature? We know the lunch provided will be identical and we are fine with that. :)
Thanks for any input.
We only took their tour for the Road to Hana which was wonderful. The mini vans they use are comfortable and our driver was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed it immensely. We did the Haleakala sunrise tour through NCL and it's a different road you take than the road to Hana. I can't say how similar they would be but to me driving up to Hana was lush with more vegetation; after Hana you had more desert like scenery. Going to Haleakala, the road is serpentine and it's drier with less vegetation because of the altitude but the views are spectacular up there. I can't speak of the other locations. Hope it helps you in your decision making.

Enjoying your review. Glad your wife's ankle is getting better.
We'll be sailing on her in October.

Haven't found any official word from Royal on the subject, but word has it that it will be September 2018 before the pier is completed. A blog post mentioned that the first phase of "Perfect Day at Coco Cay" is scheduled to open in September 2018 "with completion of the pier".
Time will tell.
Perfect timing for my October cruise.
Keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Sounds exciting but we'll be paying for all these new attractions just like we do at Labadee.
-
We usually book through the concierge when going to Labadee but first time going to Cococay so wasn't sure.
Thank you both.
-
Sorry if this question has been asked before but if you are in a suite (OS on Anthem of the Seas), do you need to reserve a cabana through the cruise planner or can you send a request to the concierge?
Thanks for your help!

I think I'm enjoying your post comments more than you're enjoying your cruise:'). LOL
Thanks for your review.

That's good to know. I hope to get a cabana through the concierge on Anthem. I have emailed a couple of times but so far I am hearing crickets!
We sail next Saturday; fingers crossed.
