  1. I KNOW I have seen this question on CC, but I can't find the threads so now I'm the person who posts the "same old question!"

Sailing on Oasis this Saturday (May 10) and booked some specialty dining online a few weeks ago. The reservations appeared in the calendar as recently as early this week, but when I just went to the calendar to print our schedule, the reservations are not showing up. I'm guessing this is just because we are so close to sail date? Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks a bunch!:)

Same thing happened to me - but we don't sail until Aug. I made reservations for 3 different restaurants for 9 people ... now all of a sudden there are only 4 people in the reservation. And these were 4 different reservation numbers. Why would "it" keep 2 reservation numbers and not the other 2. Quite frustrating.

  2. Since it was suggested that customers start emailing RC to express our displeasure at the potential Chops menu change, I sent the following to them today. Let's see what type of response I get, if any.

    Greetings RCCL Team,

We are sailing on the Allure this coming July and would like to make reservations at Chops to celebrate my birthday. However, we understand that a new Chops menu is being tested on some ships.

In addition to a price increase to the surcharge and a la cart items, you are removing baked potatoes (really?!) among several other popular items. So we're looking at paying over $50 for what we normally paid $35 for, with fewer menu options? Is this correct?

Do you anticipate rolling this menu out fleet wide, and will my cruise have this new menu in place come July? If so, we do not want to make reservations at Chops, as we enjoyed the current menu on previous cruises on the Allure.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Will be interested to know if you receive a reply, and what the reply will be.

  3. Can someone else reconfirm Quest being on day 4 please?

I have 2 different sets of cruise compasses from 2 seperate sailings and they both show Quest being on day 5 @ 11:45pm. (Western Caribbean)

    Please Help!

    Thanks;)

BPPHOTO .. please be sure to follow up with what your experience was - what day Quest was. Have a great time .. 118 days for me and my group.

  4. It's hard to predict. They used to be on a very clear schedule of Ken on for 4 months and Allan on for 2 months. But now that Ken is responsible for taking out the new builds, he has been doing shorter contracts (and even interrupted contracts) and Allan is picking up the extra time. Sometime soon, Ken will be needed at corporate fulltime to work on bringing out Quantum, and will need to be replaced on Allure. The actual date of Ken's reassignment is not yet known.

It is not known if Allan will be assigned the regular 4 month CD duties while another regular CD will be named as the 2 month fill-in. Or, maybe the fill-in will not be a regular person and will change for each break (as it is done on Oasis. Or, I think that Allan is happy with the 2 month on/4 month off contract and might not want to change, so he will remain as the regular 2 month fill-in and another CD will be named to take over Ken's 4 month contract.

Thank you Donna - appreciate your information. Can you confirm formal nights ? Eastern = day 2 & day 6 - and western day 2 and day 5 ??

  5. You need to clarify which itinerary - East or West

Quest was Day 5, 11:15 pm

Western = Love and Marriage was day 3, Quest Day 4

Hi Racer ... can I ask you to clarify ... was your day 3 Tues or Wed --- I want to say its Wed - but need to be sure we are talking the same language :D

  6. You need to clarify which itinerary - East or West

Eastern - Love and Marriage was at 10:30 pm day 3

Quest was Day 5, 11:15 pm

Western = Love and Marriage was day 3, Quest Day 4

Actually we are doing a B2B - so both the Eastern and the Western. THANK YOU for the schedule of these shows !!

  7. Hello, I am planning our first cruise and we are going to Alaska. I am a bit overwhelmed with all the shore excursions. Can anyone suggest any.

It is a Northbound cruise with stops in Juneau, Skagway Ketchikan Icy Strait.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

we did a photo safari ... it was part on boat and part a hike in national park - - it was the BEST excursion we have ever done. The photograpgher / guide was a great source of info. Also brought 15 and 18 year olds with us and they thought it was awesome.

    Radiance was a great !

  8. Go on the Allure. It has the best entertainment at sea, a multitude of restaurants, and the ship is beautiful. It blew us away. For the Caribbean, entertainment, great pool area, and options on deck are very important.

So far the majority want to go with The Allure - think Princess has lost at least 5 cabins based solely on their lack of entertainment for the under 50 crowd.
