I'm adopting a new attitude for my upcoming cruise booked more than 18 months ago. We will eat when and what we want, if there are additional charges then so be it.

 

The MDRs and buffet are always there if I'm feeling cheap. But I will remind myself that I am enjoying a much needed cruise and will erase "nickel and dime" from my mind. We will have room service if and when we want it. A great cruise isn't entirely about price. It's also about rewarding yourself and your family.

 

It's unlikely that in the future I will be able to afford a 3 week cruise with a balcony given the current trends. But I'm lucky that I was able to get a great rate and beverage package (no 18% charge and discretionary service charge at the old rate). So I'm just going to enjoy myself.

 

If I find that the changes really are not to my liking that's not a problem. Lots of cruise lines to chose from.

 

Flame if you like, but please remember this is my choice. You are free to do what's best you.

This evening, we discovered our favorite live musician group in 21 cruises. Before this cruise, The Black Jack band (which was on Carnival Dream) had that "honorary" title since our cruise in March 2011.

 

Tonight, Port Royal crushed that record. They sang excellent classics by Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Bob Marley, Alan Jackson, etc. They are very talented with good variety. The Atrium was packed by the second night. Don't miss this Italian group of musicians!

 

Black Jack has also been our favorite group as well, so thank you for this information! Can't wait to see them!

One thing I like about NCL is that their balcony doors slide open which provides a bigger opening and leaves more space on the balcony when keeping the door open. Carnival uses traditional swing open doors that have to be propped open and are noisy.

We like to play cards as well and always plenty of spots around the ship open to play at all hours.

We have cruised a couple of times with a party of 9 and always use ATD. You may have to wait 10-15 some night, but never had a problem and love having the option not to have to eat at a specific time every night;)

The best chocolate chip cookies which you can also get thru room service.

Goff's Cay!!! Beyond great tiny island. If you like to snorkel, the snorkeling was great. If you like to lay on the beach or wade in shallow water, this is the place to do it.

We did this on our last cruise and loved it! The water is just beautiful!!

We enjoy the Villas. I like having our own bathroom and the hot tub is a nice touch as well;)

Been to most of them and Mr. Sanchos is our favorite;)

Both are great ships, but would pick the Breeze for sure!! Our kids would for sure pick the Breeze as well;)
