As a scuba diver...I wasnt impressed. Kids may dig on it though. I do not believe they will allow you to have a gopro in the water unfortunately.
-
I used godfrey tours without any issues. Enjoy the island :D
-
You wont have any problem finding a taxi back. They are all regulated by the government so not to worry about a ride back to the ship.
-
Are you paying by card or at least paying at the tours conclusion so you have reassurance that you wont be left somewhere after paying your fee? If you pay at the end or can pay by card (so you can dispute if needed) then me personally, I would give it a shot...300 bucks is some nice extra spending cash on your trip.

only 50.00 more I would not even hesitate to jump at the ocean view room. Nice if you are in the room to see when you are coming into port in the AM as you are getting ready and such.
-
I wouldnt use it onboard. But I have seen many people use them on the adult beach at castaway which is what prompted me to think "why dont I do this too" :D
-
I dont recall what the wind speeds are off the top of my head BUT I have been to castaway many times and would say that about 40% of the time I have been there
-
well you didnt hear it from me BUT yes I have brought on an inflatable mat (one of the cheapy 5.00 ones from walmart) and used in in the ports. Never has anyone said anything to me. Its new in the package in my checked luggage when i bored the ship. I bring it out deflated when i get off the ship, inflate it at the beach, deflate it when i leave before i get back on the ship.

#1 thing.....RELAX :D

Ive also heard rumors from DCL staff that Magic will not be getting the aquadunk.

how fast do these little things travel? Almost looks like a jet ski with an outboard lol

I havent used discount tours but I have used captain marvins on many occasions and have been very happy with them. What kind of a price difference are we talking about? Have you asked the tour operator straight out "why are you X amount cheaper than John Does tour"
-
havent done it but I am curious to hear as well. Looks fun and their outfit in FL has great reviews on trip advisor.

You know... I didn't even think about our excursion. We're hiring a driver and hitting several different places around Cozumel. The ruins, maybe a tequilla tour, some of the east coast stuff. So the amount of people in port probably won't effect us too much!
Sounds like you are gonna be good to go. Me personally, I dont care much for crowds either lol. I deal with enough crowds at work so when I have down time I like peace and as few people as possible :)

try captain marvins. You can book them online in advance and their rate is affordable to most. Plus their office is located directly across the street from the cruise pier. I have used them about a dozen times now to do stingray city and snorkeling. they have done real well on not overcrowding the boat and getting us in a spot at the sand bar that doesnt have a ton of people right next to us. The stingray city/sandbar is a must see out there.

Look into "blue hole"

How many margaritas did you have prior to flight? :D But seriously, the ship did not give you any hassle bringing it onboard? I have thought many times about bringing my P3P as well but I see on the ships web sites they say they are prohibited. Wasn't sure how strict they really were about it just as long as you do not attempt to fly if off the ship (though that would make for some awesome video on firework night on the Disney ships!)

take a self guided tour of El Morro. Its about a 15-20 minute scenic walk from the pier. If I recall it is 6 bucks per adult to get in. Very neat place...but be prepared for a little bit of a hike if you plan to explore the entire fort. Its a neat place with great views. I would say to plan 3 hours or so for the walk over, the fort visit and the walk back. That will leave you with a little time to walk through some of the many shops if you choose.
-
thought about just walking over to one of the forts?
-
those rocks make for nice slip and slides for those carrying their kids too.
-
Nothing really worthwhile that's super close to the pier. If shopping is important to you....shop and then hop back on the ship and relax by a somewhat empty pool while all others are out on excursions. Otherwise a short cab ride will get you to some nice resorts.
-
yes thats a lot of people! BUT as I posted in your other post about this...if you pick your excursion well you wont have any issue. When I know there will be a lot of ships in Cozumel I will book Nachi Cocom resort well in advance. 50 bucks per person unlimited drinks and a great lunch is included as well as use of their private beach and pool. They limit the number of guests to only 100 at their beach. Really makes it seem like no one is in town...its great
-
5 ships is a lot of darn people! If you pick your excursion wisely it wont be of any real issue though. I have been in port with 1 ship and been in port with 5...you can definitely tell the difference but it wont ruin your trip having 5 there.

Been to Hell before (and yes there really is NOTHING to do there) but my wife has not so she is wanting to go just to mail off some postcards. Its been awhile though since I have been to Hell...is it not walking distance to the turtle farm? I would need to bus or cab it over to both?
