Your best bet would be to rent a car. Sanford has a small airport, so check with the car rental place on where to return your car. I'm not 100% sure there are any rental cars that are onsite. Getting from PC to Sanford is an easy route. You will most likely be using the toll road (417) Ensure you have cash as some of the exits are exact change. The car rental will charge you a premium to use their pass.
Getting through the airport is easy and quick. I assume you are flying Allegiant Air. The worse part is checking in at the counter. They have lines for each flights, so watch the signs at the line entrance. The folks who check you in are the folks who work the gates. This is why they want you there 1 hour prior. I've shown up there with 30 minutes and went directly to the gate. I didn't have to get a ticket, check a bag, and security was a blink of the eye.

Mt Hyatt reservation was cancelled as well. Got a room at Condado Vanderbilt for 11/10 (2 nights). They say they're open now but full 'till 11/1.
I just tried a room at Condado Vanderbilt. It is requiring me to have 3 nights. :( :(

Thanks for the heads up jswdlw....I really appreciate this. So is that Marriott property not housing relief workers for certain?
we are booked 3 nights pre and 2 nights post cruise in SJ - we have a great TA so I will reach out to them for advise. Currently dealing with wildfire disasters in our community so this is just more than I can take on at the moment - and honestly, right now 5 nights in San Juan is not attractive at all - I think we will focus on Florida pre and post.
I have a feeling that there are a whole lot of passengers planning on staying in San Juan over the next few months that are not even aware of this situation. What a complete cluster. IMHO
This is what i was told today by another hotel. The reason for the cancellation are around the relief support individuals. These people are in the hotels and while they were suppose to leave sometime in November their stay has been extended. Some have been extended until the end of the year.
I live in Florida and just can't image not flying in the day prior to departure. I would be a complete wreck. With my luck the flight would be delayed and I would miss the ship. We had planned on spending 2 days in SJ, however with the hotel craziness that has changed. Fly in the day prior. I will check weekly on the hotel status reservation.

We are booked at Sheraton OSJ both pre and post cruise starting mid December. Our TA called this week and spoke directly with the property and they confirmed they would be honoring reservations starting 12/1.
I also confirmed on another site that this property is being used by FEMA etc.
These stories on this thread make me wonder just how secure that guarantee is.....
You may want to check with Sheraton again. My reservation for 12/1-3rd was cancelled. They are not accepting any reservation until 2018. I called Starwood and they talked to the hotel. I would call Starwood directly. I have life time status with them and they called me personally to tell me about my cancellation.

This is my latest update.
As per Sheraton webpage, all San Juan hotel are not accepting reservation until the first of the year.
Comfort Inn has cancelled reservations, without notifying customers.
On the website listed above for daily status of hotels, it is miss leading. Hotels are showing open and yet not accepting reservation. The reason why is they are housing the workers.

I would advise everyone, who has a cruise departing from San Juan, to keep an eye on your hotel reservation. I had booked at the Starwood Sheraton Hotel in Old San Juan and got a call that the hotel will not be accepting customers the time period I was booked. In addition if you try and book online Starwood is not accepting reservations until after the 1st of the year (2018) Please don't wait for them to call or email you. I am a lifetime Starwood and Marriott platinum customer, so they treat us with special service.

I am very frustrated with NCL's lack of communication with customers booked on the cruises out of Puerto Rico. Also think they should have cancelled these (only 6 or so I think) cruises, so people don't have to travel to PR when it's in such a devastated condition. We will be flying to/from our Nov cruise the same day now, had to cancel our before and after stays in PR. So thankful American Airlines was great about changing flights.
Have cruised NCL 6-7 times before, but this may very well be the last.
What is happening with NCL is happening with all other cruise lines.
-
And for the OP, I don't know where you are seeing balconies that are obstructed? Only obstructed views are ocean views, not balconies. You should be ok with any mid ship balcony.
Just to clarify...Are you saying ALL balconies on the Dawn are not obstructed views?
-
Thanks everyone. I will get them tag at the ship.
-
Does NCL still send out luggage tags? I haven't seen any and just wanted to verify if this is still done. If they don't I assume I have to download them. If I download them, how on earth do they want me to attached them so they don't get torn off. Paper does tear
-
Same issue here. Our Dec 3 sailing out of San Juan had two ports replaced and no excursions are showing for the new ports on myNCL for booking. We received the new itinerary two weeks ago and our itinerary has been updated online, just not the excursions.
I am on this cruise and will take the wait until I am on board to book the excursion.

Here are your MDR menus for Days 1 and 2. You don't need to have Evernote. you can just click the PDF links on the web page.

Are the wine prices per glass or bottle?

I am sure that was taken into consideration. Pretty tough to tell all those PR residents after what they went through that they now would have to pay for airfare to Florida just to sail back to the islands that are right beside them. I am sure we will have a lot of PR residents on board. Should make for a fantastic New Year celebration.
Could not have said it better myself. It started out as very good and now is even better in our opinion.
Exactly.

Driving from Titusville to Tampa on a Saturday in December
in Florida Departures
Posted
I would suggest you plan on 3 hours. Getting from Tampa to Orlando is a crazy ride. You are traveling on an interstate that is under constant construction. In addition you will be going through the travel that is around Disney, Sea World, Universal and the outlet malls. If you take i4 to 417 that will keep you south and hopefully the traffic is friendlier. Some maps put you on 50. Don't take 50.
Enjoy Florida and thank you for visiting us.
