1. My wife and I (both 30) will be on board! We wanted to take her family on a relaxing vacation and this ship should be it! Everyone is getting pretty excited.

There will be 10 of us (ages ranging from 22 to 60's) and many are first time cruisers. My wife and I have both been to Cozumel a few times and have stayed at all inclusives near Cozumel a few times. We're looking forward to picking out a few great excursions.

Can wait to get on board and grab a drink!

See you all at sea (=

  2. I can only speak of Carnival since we've never sailed with anyone else BUT I have some cruise friends that sail Norwegian a good bit and they love it too !! I have sent off for their brochures and WOW they have some really nice ships... as a matter of fact my husband and I are really thinking about cruising Norwegian in May or June of 2016 to Alaska heard they are the BEST for their tours. We've been on 4 cruises and all have been great with CC. You're going to find a bad review here and there but just dig in and keep a open mind. I believe Tom is right on the 4 plus day sails food is much better on longer sails, however there is other places you can eat and pay a little more and it's EXCELLENT.... worth the extra IMO. Service is always great, ships are clean, I feel safe, entertainment just depends on which ship you're on.... over all it's good for the price. I have NO doubt the BREEZE will far exceeds all our expectations geesh I'm so excited just talking about it !! Lol Which ever one you decide on it will be wonderful I'm sure :D

Speaking of NCL, we fly out tomorrow morning for our NCL Pearl Cruise leaving Jan 2. Can't wait!! Talk to you all soon!

  3. Brad,

We are Platinum on both Carnival and NCL. We have found, especially on the longer cruises (not 3 day cruises), that Carnival's food is just as good as NCL and the nightly entertainment is better. The Getaway is NCLs newest ship which we have not been on but it appears wonderful. We have been on the Breeze and love the ship and thats why we chose it again. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you will have a blast!!!

  4. Hi Celine !!! WOW what a month you guys will have. My husband and I sailed in October with a bunch of our friends.... no kids. It had it's UPS and downs you could say  lol BUT for the most part it was a BLAST !! :p

I can't wait for this sailing though been wanting to check out the BREEZE since she came out. I feel with every cruise I take away more with knowing what to do and not to do, makes for a better experience each time.

Has anyone sailed on the BREEZE before ?? If it was mentioned already... sorry I'm blonde at times  Hahaha

We sailed the breeze in Feb 2013 and LOVED her!!! Over 3000 guests and never felt crowded anywhere. Great water park area for the kids. That is why we choose this ship for our family cruise (i.e. Kids, kids-in-law and grand-kids)!!!!

  5. Last time we went to Money Bar Beach the water was extremely choppy so even though we were able to do a little snorkeling it was a bit scary, love Chankanaab though :) We are in our mid 40s with a 9 year year old

Yes Chankanaab is nice, especially that little cove area. If you get outside that it can get very very rough!!!! By the time of our cruise two of our grandchildren will be 12 and 13. Not sure if they will be in the same group as your 9 year old assuming they all will be going to the kids club.

  6. That's a given and not even something you have to mention... stopped donating to the casino and instead have been giving to the Piano Man ... well except on our last cruise where the Piano Man was a Piano Woman and she was awful, horrible, didn't even spend 10 minutes in there with her...

Probably even more so why I'm super duper excited about having Jordan this cruise... He's gotten great reviews....

Did the lady make choppy sounds when she sang? If she did we saw her as well!! Horrible!!!

  7. We just left the Victory and my wife and I went to Jordan's shows every night and sat right at the Piano bar and it was standing room only. He did a great job and we all had a great time. I mentioned how good he was on John Heald's facebook page. Hopefully we will get to see him again some day. He is a fantastic entertainer. Next time you talk to him ask him about the 'Yoo-hoo' man that always sneaked up on him... lol

    Tom

P.S. I was not the Yoo-hoo man. My wife would have killed me... :D

  8. Thanks so much for the great review, especially of Jordan :) I have been messaging him on facebook as I will also have the pleasure of him being my "Piano Man" on 11/6..

From the messages, videos and some reviews I have seen and read about him, I just know we'll be in the Piano Bar every night... Thanks for the tip about getting there early...we like to sit around the piano if we can get seats there...

I have asked Jordan, but I'll also ask you guys (as you know him better than anyone else) but can you please tell me what you think he would like me to bring him that he can't get/find himself...

Now I'm how do the kids say it... "really pumped" and getting excited about my upcoming cruise... My last cruise the Piano Lady was such a disappointment and I have a really good feeling about Jordan...

Another question... what is Jordan's favorite drink ??? Thanks Jordan's Family :)

Do what we did, put a really nice tip in his jar!!! :):):)

  9. He said it was standing room only on this past cruise! Thanks for your offer to take something to him...I am not sure what he would want?? He loves Jimmy Johns!! He loves Nutella also! His favorite drink is Diet Coke or Coke Zero...and both of those mixed with some Jack or White Rum!! Enjoy your cruise, we wish we were going again!!

  10. Last time we were in St Maartin.....we took the water taxi over to the beach (the one you can see right from the ship)...the water taxi drops you off in the center of the beach and we walked to the left...we discovered that the further you walk, the cheaper the chairs/umbrellas get.....we stopped when we were offered two chairs, an umbrella and a bucket of beer of $20....it was a great day! Refills on the bucket were like $10...and you don't have to have beer, you can have water and or soda or mix it up...

Do you recall the name of the place that made you this offer?

    Thanks,

  11.
We just returned from a Land/Sea cruise on the Volendam. Every time I ordered a diet coke, either from the bartender or in the dining areas, I was given a glass of ice and a CAN of pop. I used the card for my drinks and there never was a glass from the hose prepared.

Don't know if other HAL ships are following the same guidelines. It might help if you let us know which ship you are sailing on.

Have a great time on your cruise.

    Okie
Sailing on the Veendam and it is the Soda card not the Beverage Card (i.e. Get 50 for 25).

    Thanks everyone,

    Tom
