  1. We were on the Regal last July. We were wandering the ship on embarkation day filling out the little stamp card for the drawing and one of the places was the sanctuary. There was only a handful of people milling about in the tiny entryway where the host desk is so on a whim we asked about reserving a spot. Ended up booking a sanctuary cabana for a couple days and the retreat pool cabana for one afternoon when the sanctuary ones were fully booked. I'd definitely visit the desk first. They have a whole spreadsheet for each date and time block and will be happy to work with you to reserve a chair.

    Thanks for sharing'

  2. I know on the Royal to make a daily reservation you had to make a phone call. Absolutely no reservations were taken at the Sanctuary itself.

I do not know on the Royal if the same was true on embarkation day for booking for the full cruise.

That 's what I read as well and thought the Regal would be the same as the Royal.

  3. I've read to reserve the Sanctuary you can now call when you board the ship then go to the Sanctuary to select your chair? I thought you needed to go directly to the Sanctuary to reserve a space upon boarding. Can someone who has recently been on the Regal and reserved the Sanctuary please respond.

  4. Hi there!

Thank you so much for sharing your cruise with us! I'm apparently not the only one who is living vicariously through your posts as I count down to my trip on the Royal at the end of the month. I'm hanging on every word and picturing myself there, poolside, and loving every minute of it!

I have a question and would be so appreciative if you could answer for me. What was the procedure for booking seats in the Sanctuary, both for the full cruise as well as for one day at a time? Tracie (who did a "live from" during the Royal's last leg) shared what her experience was and it seemed pretty disorganized. I realize you haven't booked seats up there, but maybe if you speak to anyone who has and can find out what I can expect when I get on, it would help me know where to go and how to reserve.

Thanks again for taking time out of your vacation to share with us! It's so much fun to look forward to it every morning!

I would also appreciate hearing about the Sanctuary. Someone said you needed to call on the first day to reserve before going to the Sanctuary?

  5. The overcast skies created rain for a bit this morning so I spent most of my day inside.

After my morning ritual with the love of my life it was time for morning trivia in the Vista Lounge. Ended up playing with a fellow CC member, PoohDaddy...he and his lovely wife are a riot!!! We didn't come close to winning the game but laughed a lot. We've attended several games run by one of the cruise staff members, David. He is absolutely outstanding! A quite hysterical chap if I do say so myself!

I pretty much just wandered, perhaps stopping momentarily at the casino to make my daily deposit, before meeting the other CC folks for our scheduled afternoon cabin crawl. All in all we saw an aft balcony, mid ship balcony, obstructed view balcony and finally a full suite right at the bow of the ship. We had a great time and all enjoyed seeing the different types of cabins.

By the time the cabin crawls was done I was exhausted as I hadn't slept well the night before. I informed Ro that I was going to take a nap and wouldn't make it to dinner that night. 3 hours later I awoken from my coma feeling much more human than I had earlier in the day. I spiffed up (it's formal night) and headed to Alfredo's for a quick bite of pizza.

PoohDaddy and his lovely wife happened to be there so I joined them. Afterwards we headed to Princess live where we pretty much stayed for the next three hours. First we participated in "Name the Lyrics"(none of us enjoyed that one) followed by "Name that Tune acoustic." David was on guitar and is an amazing musician! We laughed until we cried during the game! And finally it was time for "Liars Club." Princess live was standing room only for the show. The panel consisted of David, Cruise Director Peter and the comedian onboard, Phil. The three of them together were HYSTERICAL!!!! At one point it got a bit raunchy to which Phil asked "Are we now on a Carnival ship?" Peter quickly replied "Not right now but that's where we will ended up working if we keep this up!" LOL!!!!

We dock on St Kitts at 7:00 in the morning so we are now headed to bed. Will do a bit of shopping first thing before we head to the beach.

More tomorrow...thanks for sailing with us!

Natalie, I hoped you 're going to Carambola Beach Club tomorrow in St Kitts. It's fabulous. Very comfy padded chairs and a great restaurant & bar right there providing great service. Hope you read this post before leaving the ship.

  6. Coconuts. Free Valet and beautiful waterfront view with pelicans and boats.

How is the Oyster restaurant next door? Is it open for lunch. I've been to Coconuts & loved it.

    Thanks

  7. Sorry to hear that quality of food and entertainment are slipping down Eclipse.

I sailed in her last April and I thought that food was good, but entertainment was not, but when Perry is on board - it didn't matter much. I sailed in Equinox in November over Thanksgiving and food was very good, better that on Eclipse. Entertainment was hit or miss. We paired Equinox with 5 days on Liberty of the Sea - wow! and not in the good way. It will be a long time before I sail with RC again. Would like to try Princess again. I hope they have changed for a better, but for now Celebrity, we are coming back in 2 months - don't disappoint us.

I've not cruised on the Equinox but want to book the ship. Maybe because it was a 14 day. Many of the staff seemed tired. Last year we were so impressed with everyone's friendliness and awesome customer service. It's been a few years sine I've sailed with Princess and I'm looking forward to the new ship. Every cruise is wonderful and each ship has it's own WOW factors. I just love to cruise!

  8. give this one a try. it saved me a ton last year. Y937800

This is a phenomenal code it saved me almost $70 on a 2 day spring break rental. Plus it is a larger vehicle.

SUV! Thanks so much for sharing the terrific discount code!

  9. I was on the same Christmas and New Years cruise and totally agree with you about the food and cut backs. We couldn't believe only one night chocolates were left in the cabins. The Canyon Ranch hair salon was horrible & ridiculously pricey. $69 for a blow dry style. To get a longer you had to be on deck by 7. And the chairs were filled with towels until 11. The pooI butlers did nothing to stop the chair hogs. I was on this cruise last year and it was 100% better. I'm like you and like Celebrity. This was my 4th Celebrity cruise. I will be back but maybe not for a holiday sailing. I cruise a few different lines and will be on the Princess Regal in March. I did purchase a future cruise credit so I will be back on Celebrity.

    Thanks for sharing your review.

  10. If I'm one of the first to walk off the ship with my luggage could I make an 8:45 am flight at Fort Lauderdale? I will be on the Regal. Please let me know the earliest you have made it to the airport.
