    If I choose to swap out my Elite mini bar set up for a bottle of wine, do I get to choose? If not, can anyone tell me what they have received in exchange. I would most likely swap for white or sparkling. Thanks!

    Finally assigned a cabin R102

    We booked a guarantee balcony BF and finally received our cabin number R102 category DE. We're very happy to get this upgrade. has anyone been in this cabin? It's a little unusual being right behind the bridge so we're just curious if anyone out there had it and what they thought. Thanks

    That is the problem with booking a GTY. It is always possible that you will get exactly what you paid for...

     

    And yes, rumour has it that Princess is famous for upgrading first timers. You are correct, it is most likely a marketing ploy-- to build a loyal customer base.

     

     

    Agree, you just never know where you're cabin will be.

    Guaranteed Cabin Assignment?

    There was a flash sale for a few hours a few months ago on a Christmas and New Year's 14 day cruise. The rates were great but we had to book a gty deluxe balcony minimum cat DC. The savings was over $2,000 on the 14 day cruise. No assignment yet but no worries. Just excited to have gotten such a deal and to be cruising with good friends for the holidays on the Regal. [emoji41]

    We took the water taxi. The entrance for that is left of the welcome center at the port. The walk would be a little over a mile if you did that.

    Chris I've taken the water taxi before to the beach and we sat at one of the first Sections of chairs. How far down the beach is Holland House? Is there a sign on the beach?

    Regal Guarantee Assigned

    Booked a BZ guarantee on the 31 Jan 16 Regal cruise on 9 Jun 15. My TA was able to move it up to a BW guarantee for the same price at booking.

     

     

     

    Today got our assignment...a BB on Caribe deck.

     

     

    Congrats! You did well. Several of us booked BC's guarantees on the Regal Dec 20-Jan 3 and we have not gotten our assignments yet.

    It was probably the same review.. However some others chipped in and said "we were on this same cruise" Yadda, yadda, yadda.

     

     

     

    To be fair, I've also read some very positive reviews about the ship and its staff however.. as you pointed out.. was interested in Chris' overall impression as well.

     

     

     

    Either way, we are ready and fully prepared to have a great time!!

    Good morning/afternoon Chris.

     

     

     

    You seem to be having a great time and you are making our countdown to our Regal visit in 28 days so much more enjoyable. Thank you for all the pictures and comments.

     

     

     

    So I would like to ask your opinion about your time spent on the ship so far... In reading some comments from your fellow travelers who just got off the ship from the five day journey, I'm reading many people saying how bad service was (bartenders were slow, room service was horrible and so on) I know you may not have experienced room service. but overall... how would you rate the level of service you have received thus far compared to other sailings you have been on?

    Not sure where you are reading these comments. I see one from a 10 day cruise who shared their room service experience. Other posts about RS were good. The service was excellent when I cruised the the Regal this year. We booked a B2B again next month. I'm sure Chris will provide his experience in his final review and I'll let you know how it was in December during our holiday cruise.

    Chris, can't wait to hear about your first time impressions of the Regal Princess. I know you will love it! Alfredo's will be a good choice for lunch or dinner today. Nice picture of Steve & Cheryl and you at Outback's last night. Have a blast today exploring the Regal. I will check back later.

     

     

     

    Also, for the person who asked about my upgrade on the Regal for this coming Sunday, we went from an obstructed deluxe balcony in category DZ (Forward) to an unobstructed deluxe cabin in category DC (Mid Forward) both being on Emerald Deck. Hope you get a nice upgrade for your unassigned cabin in December.

    Chris, I had to let you know Darlene and I got our cabin assignment today from Princess. We got an upgrade to an unobstructed deluxe balcony on Emerald Deck. Our cabin number is E212 (Mid Forward), not to far from you. Also, if you don't know this, Princess is giving an onboard credit adjustment for our Nov. 8th cruise on the Regal. Kathy mention it was due to lower port fees & taxes because she called Princess. Have fun tomorrow, can't wait to join you on Sunday.

    Congrats on your upgrade! What category did you book? I am on the Regal in December and booked a gty. No cabin assignment yet. So far one cabin has been assigned in our gty group. He booked a deluxe and received a 2 car upgrade. Enjoy your cabin and cruise!

    Subscribed...We are sailing the Regal in June 2016 on Baltic Sea. Looking forward to your "live from" reports of the this beautiful ship.

     

     

    What a great tower room and view of the ships. It looks like you can reach out and touch the Caribbean Princess! I would like to reserve that room the next time I travel to Ft Lauderdale. Mind if I ask the room number?

    You will love the Regal! I'll be on the Christmas and New Years sailings. So take good care of the ship! I'm subscribed and looking forward to following you. Bon Voyage and enjoy the beautiful Florida sunshine.

    Question about the Pier

    No golf carts on pier. There is a free tram from ships to port shopping area. And there is a place for golf cart rental in the port area, if you wish to take one outside the port to the beach malecon in Mahahual.

    So the tram picks passengers up at the ship and takes them to the port terminal? We don't need a golf cart just a ride to the terminal.
